Headphones quit after about 1 month
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I keep coming back to trying to get these headphones to work, and I keep getting angrier and angrier. They lasted one month, of 2-7 times per week usage. I have been unable to reset them. Customer support keeps saying to reset them. I can't. Many people have posted in their support forums about the same problem. Try a different brand; this one is crap.

Solid bluetooth earbuds for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got these yesterday as a Christmas present and for the short time I've had them, I'm in love with them already. I got these to replace my AirPods which when kaput after I so stupidly kept in my pocket when I was in swimming one time. As much as I loved my AirPods, I don't miss them one bit after getting these bad boys. Compared to the AirPods, I actually think these have slightly better sound compared to them due to the Jaybirds having a more secure in-ear fit with the included gels. Speaking of fit, It's taken a little bit of getting used to this kind of fit again, but with my first true day of wearing them I have quickly gotten used to the feeling of this type of earbuds again and I've found them to be quite comfortable actually. There are 3 different sizes included for the gels to accommodate for all the varying sizes of ears; the middle sized one being the one that comes pre-installed. I changed mine to the #1 size right away for both buds and have found that to be the perfect fit for me. In terms of the sound quality, it's ok out the box. Initially, when I was trying them out I was just using my iPhone's EQ set to the bass booster preset and was a little underwhelmed by the bass performance. Once I found out that there was a companion app (Jaybird MySound; available on both the App Store and Google Play) I was then blown away. I immediately was able to find a bass oriented preset in the stock set that comes on the app and now they sound much better while providing a surprising amount of bass for headphones of this style. While I'm on the topic of the companion Jaybird MySound app, there are also many other things you can do with the app as well. Aside from being able to choose from a myriad of EQ presets (and being able to create your own too), the app also has curated playlists to accompany your workout, and you can also adjust other settings of your Jaybirds like turning the voice prompts on and off, auto power off for when they're on but not actively playing audio, amongst other settings. Pros: -battery life decent for what it is; slightly better than that of the AirPods (6 hours of listening time as compared to the AIrPod's 5; if you need even more battery life, there's the new Jaybird Tarah Pro) -great sound quality for the price; can be made even better with Jaybird's companion MySound app -voice prompts to notify you about what's going on with the buds in addition to the audio cues (letting you know when they're connected, battery percentage, etc) -IPX7 waterproofing makes these perfect for even the most intense of workouts (just don't plan on going swimming with these) -super quick charging time (10 minutes alone gives you about an hour of listening!) -included quick cinch and shirt clip helps to easily keep these buds from moving or bouncing around during a workout or when moving around in general Cons: -flakey connection at times (though I did find that while wearing something with a zipper that keeping the remote within line of sight of your device quickly mitigates this issue) -proprietary charger could be easy to lose, but honestly, I find it better than having to fiddle with a USB cable Overall, I think these Bluetooth earbuds would be a solid choice for anyone who lives a pretty active lifestyle, whether it be through running or biking outside, or going to the gym. I could easily find these becoming my new daily driver as well, as I like earbud style headphones more at work since I can just have one of the buds in to listen to music while being able to keep one of my ears free to hear what's going on around me. Needless to say, I think Jaybird's got a winner on their hands here!

Not a good fit
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Call quality is okay but it chops and screws (it continually stops while playing) my music! Being that I drive for a living, I buy them to listen to my music while driving, therefore it's not a good fit for me. Before I give up on it and return it, I'll see if Geek squad can repair them, although a brand new item should not need to be repaired!

Easy to set up and use, comfortable, good sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had these earbuds in my ears and playing music less than five minutes after opening the package. They came with about 60% charge, so they were ready to be used right out of the box. Pairing with my smartphone and loading up a music app (I initially used one of my youtube playlists) took no time at all, and I was listening to music. The buds have adjustments to make fitting into your ears comfortable, and I found they fit my ears just fine right out the box. Included in the box is a USB charger and additional ear fittings as well as a quick start guide. You are instructed to download the Jaybird app, which I highly recommend as there are guides for anything you might need to do (charging, ear fitting adjustment, operating the controls, finding music, and more). It can also be used to answer your phone, although you would need to to talk into your phone to respond as there is no microphone. I found the sound to be adequate. Perhaps not as much bass as some might like, but overall the sound was fine with good volume adjustment range, and these are perfect for listening to music while jogging or exercising in some other way as well as while sitting at your desk or being out in public without bothering people nearby. Highly recommended.

Battery will fail in less than a year
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Battery bleeds when not being used. Lost 60 percent in less than a week just sitting on my counter turned off. Owned less than a year, and this is the second set of jaybirds that just died on me. Pay a little more for another brand. Even my cheap old Anker headphones are outlasting two different Jaybirds.

DOWNLOAD THE APP!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second pair of bluetooth in-ear headphones. The other I own is a set of BeatsX. The only reason I bring this up is to say my standards were set pretty high by my past experience and my review may be skewed because of this. The first thing I noticed when unpacking is the proprietary charger. In this day and age I do not understand the necessity of having anything but a USB or Lightning charging cord. Having to carry another charging cable around is an unnecessary burden. However, charging time is quick so downtime is lessened. At first, I did not download the Jaybird app. Even without it, installation was a breeze. However when I played my first song the sound quality was horrible! It was tinny with no bass. I decided to give the app a whirl and am glad I did. The app was easy to use and intuitive. I was able to customize the sound as I played a song. It was immediately better! The quality and the loudness were just a sliver below my BeatsX. The app also gives you the ability to see battery life and other items which is helpful. In reference to comfort level, the app gives you tips and pointers to adjust to your liking. Luckily, mine fit pretty well right out of the box. However, others may not have the same luck and the lack of different sized ear buds may lessen comfort. The headset itself is lightweight and comfortable. It has a small band on the back to cinch up the extra cable going from ear to ear, to provide a more secure fit. The button programming still has me baffled. Again, maybe it is just my past experience with my BeatsX. Where the BeatsX seem a little more common sense, where each button does a set of actions that seem appropriately paired, the Jaybirds almost feel like I’m entering a password into my phone. I’m constantly hitting the wrong button to change tracks or answer the phone, etc. Overall, this is a solid choice for ear buds. They’re nothing that are going to blow you out of the water, but a slightly above average choice nonetheless. I am constantly working in the yard and going to the gym so these get a lot of use. It will be interesting to see how well they hold up.
