I've always purchased Jaybirds ever since the first version. To me, the average life-span of these earphones have been declining. The first one I've had over 2 years, the last one (jaybird x-3) only lasted 8 months. Luckily, the company will provide me with a new one (x-4 actually). Im hoping the X-4 will last.

Bought these headphones less than 2 weeks ago and its already shorting on one side. I've only used it casually and during weight training but the side that connects to the mic is slipping out. I have had the X2's before for 2 years with so such issue. Very unhappy about this.

First day, A+ from my end

I haven't had these x3s for more than a day now, but after chatting on the phone for an hour, listening to a couple of hours of music at work, and listening to music while on a two mile trail-run (all on the charge straight out of the box) these Jaybirds have performed fantastically.
The price was fine, coming from the corded Bose Soundsports these were not overpriced in comparison.
The fit was weird from that Bose transition- they felt more invasive in my ear, but it was easy to get used to. They cancelled noise pretty well (more effective than the Bose Soundsports) with the foam buds in, and sat nicely in my ear with the small ear fins (and I have small narrow ears).
When running I was actually surprised to not feel them try to wiggle out, or shift around. The controls were smooth and it worked great with my iPhone 5s.
The sound quality was awesome, but the bass will oversaturate some music. With the app paired with these headphones, the bass can be taken care of (add more bass if you like) and the music playing can be balanced the way you like. I have not had any issues with the app's connecting, or bluetooth connection.
On day one these guys are pretty fantastic! If you're debating it, I'd say give them a try.
Bestbuy has a pretty good exchange policy if you hate them. I've never had Jaybirds before, but reviews on the x2s got me interested, so I got these x3s to test out. I'll be keeping them.
Thanks for reading my hyped up word spewage.

These are the best headphones that I have ever purchased. They sound amazing with the right amount of lows, mids and highs. They also can get very loud if you like your music like that. Noise isolation is solid. The fit is excellent but you have to find tinker around with how you want to wear them (over the ear or under the ear), prefer fins or no fins, what buds and what size buds. I prefer under ear, with fins, comply foam tips in medium size. I think some people that complained about not fitting correctly probably didn't take the time to find out the right and most comfortable fit for them. The hardware feels durable and the battery actually lasts as long as they stated which is 8 hours. It also has a Jaybird MySound app which has various preset equalizers and your own customization that makes a certain genre music sound much better to your liking. My con is that it has a proprietary snap on charger which is kind of annoying if I want to charge it elsewhere, I must bring that snap on charger around which means I could possibly lose it or damage it. Everything else is AWESOME!

(Almost) Perfect Wireless Earbuds

I've gone through many reviews and spent countless hours (exaggerated a bit) watching youtubers review this product along with many other competitor products such as the Beats X, Apple Airpods, Samsung Icon X etc. and in the end I chose the Jaybird X3 because the pros for the X3 outweighs the cons by a very large margin. Reminder that nothing is perfect but within the Wireless earbuds department, there is nothing closer to perfect than the X3.
Pro:
Battery life is always an issue with these wireless earbuds but with the X3, I've never really had to worry about batterylife as the X3 does as they say it would (8 hours). On a weekly basis, I'd really only have to charge it, maybe twice. I use it everytime I commute to work and I commute by using public transportation. It takes about 30 minutes to and 30 minutes from (totaling at 1 hour) and I work at least 5 days a week and usually by the end of the work week I would be left with 20% left. No problem. Just plug it in and your earbuds should be full in about an hour. A good addition is that everytime you turn it on, it tells you the current batterylife before connecting to any devices. The X3 also tells you when you have 20% left even if you are in the middle of streaming or lost with the music. Another plus.
Water Resistant is always a plus. I come from a city/state that is known for it's sudden change in weather. One day it can be bright, sunny and clear. Next day, rain, thunderstorm and or snow. I've never had to worry about getting my X3 wet as they would work just fine in any natural occurrences. Idk about natural disasters, I'm not willing to put my X3 or myself up to the test.
Connection works like a breeze. Connecting it for the first time is as simple as turning the X3 on, and connecting it to a bluetooth ENabled device. Everyother time after that, as long as the bluetooth on your device is on, the X3 will automatically connect when turned on. And it only automatically connects to devices that it has connected to before. Smart!
Meh/Can improve on
The wires are unnoticable but that is really only when it isn't in use and is dangling around your neck. I've had times that I forgot that it was even there and threw tantrums about losing something worth $130. But then when I realize that it is around my neck, I am once again reminded of how glad I am, that the X3 is wireless but wired to keep them from being lost, unlike the Airpods or Icon X. The negative is that moving your head around is limited to how long the wire is. There are times when I had to tilt my head or even turn my whole body to look at something: to avoid pulling the earbuds out of my ears. And then turn back to have to adjust the wires everytime so that one side isn't to tight and the other isn't too loose. But every now and then, when in use, I do in fact forget that the wires are there, until I have to turn my head...
Might just be my specific product but within the first few hours of unpacking it for the first time, one side of the earbud fell off so I had to go looking for it. This is why I try to avoid in-ear earbuds as the tip can fall off
and get lost without you noticing or come off and get lodged into your ear (never happened to me but one can never be too cautious). Just don't like having stuff jammed into my ear. Plus side is that the X3 comes with wingtips so you can adjust how far the tip of the earbud goes into your ear without worrying that it will fall out of your ear as the wingtips will keep the earbuds in place.
Sound does drop for a split second every now and then, when you cover the mic piece but it's not a big deal to me. Just something to note. Can be improved on.
Cons
The charging port is not standard and requires a unique plug in. Lose that, your X3 is worthless unless you find the plug in or get a new one. This is the main deal breaker and perhaps the only reason that I refrain from calling the X3 perfect. I've had many occasions in which I had to rummage through my bag, drawer, bed, clothing, just to find it. I would not have gotten the X3 if they didn't balance it out with it's great battery life. Something to take note, Jaybird. Main deal breaker for most
Idk
Not a sound expert/audiophile so long as I can listen to music for a long time, then I don't care about quality
Summary
The X3 is a bang for it's buck. Cheaper than most models. Long batterylife. Water resistant. Smooth connection. With most smartphone makers moving towards the idea of (truly) wireless, #RIP #Headphone #Jack #(Sorry to all the Jacks out there); the X3 is a 100% must have wireless earbud (only if you are careful not to lose the plug-in like I do every now and then). This is a win.

Good Product, Poor Support from Jaybird

The earphone is a great product. There is nothing to complain about the sound quality and battery life. But the Jaybird X3 special charger is a big problem if you ever lose it (likely within the product lifespan). The only place you can buy it from is the Jaybird website and it costs $17 including shipping. But the story does not end here. Since Jaybird does not ship a lot of stuff I guess, they use a third party for all logistics. And it is hard to get an update on when your order will arrive if ever. So after 1 month wait, I received an email saying the order will not be delivered for another 2 months. So I ordered another one and 4 days later they sent me an email saying it will arrive soon. So I went through the trouble to cancel that second order which took more time. Finally I got the accessory pack which I only need the charging clip. So consider twice before you buy, beats wireless has similar sound quality.

Excellent Choice For Gym

I've struggled finding a good headphone solution for the gym. Wires get in the way so I've stayed wireless for the past few years. Beats Studio Wireless and Bose Wireless are both too big to rock in the gym, covering your entire ears and collecting sweat and hindering movement on certain machines. For a good while I used Tracks Airs by Sol Republic x Motorola which were fantastic but their longevity proved not to be so great...having problems with keeping a connection in both ears after about a year's time. I researched and found the Jaybird X3s and the Beats Powerbeats 3s to be considered the top 2 gym headphones each with their own pros and cons and I settled on the Beats. BIG MISTAKE. They were uncomfortable wrapped around my ear, as well as their too long cord bouncing behind my neck, and the slant of the drivers missed my ear canal and poked against the cartilage on the inside of my ear. I found myself constantly fidgeting with them and the sound was mediocre. Also the controls were finicky and I often had to press buttons several times to get something to happen. Who wants to deal with that when you're working out? I hated them and exchanged them after 3 days for the Jaybird X3s and boy am I glad I did! The Jaybirds just fit so much better...COMFORTABLY and stay put for the most part, in my ear throughout heavy gym sessions, with little adjustment required. The sound is amazing. And I love how you can wear them with the cord behind your neck OR (like I do) adjust the cord to the exact measurement of your head and have it fitted around the back of your head, eliminating annoying dangling. Also, it's other features put it leap years above the Beats, like working seamlessly with both iOS AND Android (not just iOS and kinda with Android like the Beats), they have their own app with equalizer that allows you to change the eq settings of the headphones to your liking on the firmware level, can connect to 2 devices at the same time, and work seamlessly with Google Assistant. The only negative thing I have to say about the Jaybird X3's (and the reason I gave 4 not 5 stars) is the fact that if you wear the headphones fitted to your head (not dangling) which I find to be the best way for physical activity, it is virtually impossible to use the headphones for phone calls because the mic is positioned in the back of your head and the person on the other side of the call can hardly hear you. So when making calls, before or after the gym, I have to remove the headphones and talk with my phone. That gripe aside, for use solely in the gym or for other fitness activities, in terms of the full package: comfort, fit, staying in your ear, features and sound, the Jaybird X3s are the best hands down.

These ear buds are awesome! Whether you're looking for some solid workout ear buds or just some convenient everyday buds, I would definitely recommend the X3s. The sound is very good (for Bluetooth ear buds of this size) and you can be sure to get a very comfortable and secure fit with the several different ear tips, ear fins and cable managing clips. These buds are very durable and the sweat/rain proof design is extremely convenient (I've actually taken a shower with mine in. :D). The battery life is very sufficient for nearly 2 days of heavy listening and the buds will tell you how much battery is left every time you turn them on. I have not tried the Power Beats 3s', so I can't give an accurate comparison there, but the smaller form factor and lower price point of the X3's seems to make them the best option in their category. They are worth every penny, and then some!

Best Wireless Earbuds!

So, I've owned Jaybirds X Bluebuds and X2 and I have to say there was not a big jump from the first version to the second in sound quality or design. But the X3s are a significant improvement! To start, they're smaller so they fit more comfortably in my ear canal (may vary based on your ear), which means less to know fatigue. Secondly, the sound quality is excellent! It's a little bass boosted but even at a flat EQ setting, the mids are not muddy, but full and the highs are clean. Lastly, the My Jaybird My Sound app is a game changer! You can truly fine tune these earbuds to the exact sound profile that want. In addition, you can choose pre-defined ones my athletes and other users. My only gripe is that a small cradle is needed to charge the buds (connected to micro-USB), but with over 8 hours of batter life, you won't be charging up that much. It even has fast charging with 15-20 min will garner you an hour of listening. I love these! I would try truly wireless buds, but they're still too expensive for nominal battery life and sound quality. I'm going to wait another year or two for tech to improve. Thanks for reading!

Video Notes:
Jaybird x3
It took me a long time to get over the concept of ear fins.
On my search for Bluetooth earbuds I wanted to go fully wireless. However, some research and experimentation revealed that the technology just isn't quite there yet. The Apple Airpods aren't sport oriented. Reviews of the JLab epic air claim terrible connectivity. When it comes to wired Bluetooth options there is a never ending array. Cheaper options just don't have the sound I'm looking for. I didn't like the large body of the Bose Soundsport Wireless, and prefer bass heavy headphones. Powerbeats just seemed overpriced, and I've heart many reports of them breaking. $200 headphones shouldn't break.
I finally decided to give these a shot after hearing tons of positive reviews. Most of the negative reviews regarding fit come from people using the standard configuration and silicone ear tips. When I put these into sport -fit mode using the cord clips security was never a concern.
Most complicated fit and setup, but best reward. Sound is fantastic, and really needs to be heard. There is a huge difference between these and cheaper offerings in terms of clarity, bass, depth, dynamic range, and overall experience. There is very occasionally a microsecond dropout, so connection stability could be a little better. However, it is very good, and on par with most Bluetooth headphones today. Lots of ear wings, silicone and comply tips to find right fit. Case small, but fits in pocket. Proprietary charger pain if loose, but only a problem if you travel often and tend to loose things. This allows for better water proofing and no USB port to wear out, though connection could loosen. They claim 8 hours of battery life and that's what I got. 20 minutes of quick charging also provides a full hour of playtime.
The MySound app is pretty amazing. I thought it was a cool idea, but in practicality it makes all the difference in the world. It allows you to change the sound signature. Say you want to listen really loud and want heavy bass - there's a profile for that. If the bass if overwhelming the headphones and distorting the sound - there's a profile for that. ON that note, it is possible to overwhelm these just a little bit. However, I simply chose a different sound profile and the problem went away. If they aren't getting loud enough - choose another sound profile. You can also fine tune any profile you choose, or create your own preset and save it to the headphones no matter what device you connect them to.
Also still not ipx rated. States sweat-proof and double hydrophobic nano coating on the website. I chose the camo color and it looks amazing. Retail price is much cheaper than x2 starting price. They have improved fit, more refined, smaller ear wings, and the MySound app. MySound app is awesome, really easy to use. Probably still prefer over the ear. Unboxing is awesome, premium feel. On and off sounds very cool, and only one I've tested that has audio and visual battery indicator on Android. This is one thing I was a little jealous of Iphone's for. The battery percentage is spoken to you, and is also displayed in the app.
Overall I think you really can't beat these headphones. I should not have waited so long to buy them, and I have not regretted buying them a single day after. They are certainly worth a try, and if you do not like them they should be easily returnable.

I have to say that I have looked at a lot of these wireless headphones, some where really cheap and promised great sound but never lived up to their claim. The jaybirds do! I can honestly say that the deep and rich sound is amazing, especially if you download the app that comes with them. It allowes you to adjust the sound to how you like it no matter what music you are listening to. Secondly, they feel really comfortable in your ears and came with different sizes of tips to fit in your ears securely, which was great for me since I have smaller ears. Lastly, I love that they are wireless, no more accidentally pulling out the cord if I’m walking or exercising and causing my phone to go flying into the air. I would definitely recommend these to anyone one that wants a great experience when listening to music while walking, running, working out or just for everyday use.

This is my first pair of Jaybirds and I’m blown away! Great sound with massive bass capabilities. Actually has more bass than Beats. You can customize the sound profile of the earbuds with the jaybird app to reach any kind of sound you want making this pair of buds very acceptable by many with a fun range of sound profiles. Biggest complaint is that it’s very hard to charge. You quite literally need “the magic touch” to get these things charging with it’s proprietary hookup. If you can deal with spending 2-3 minutes trying to charge it, I would highly recommend!

I'm not proud to say that these are my third pair of Jaybird earphones. I abolutely love them. I often use them around the house when I don't want to be tied down by wires while doing chores, and they're the only ones I use when I work out.
The sound quality is amazing. Considering that they're completely wireless, and as compact as they are, I am blown away at how good my music sounds while using these. Bass is good and low, without being distracting or uncomfortable. Mids are pronounced and up front without being overpowering. And the highs are nice and clear without giving you the fear of going deaf. The volume gets pretty high, so I don't leave it at max, like ever. Overall, incredible sound for the size.
The connectivity seems to be pretty good. I can't be too sure how it will work for you, but it's probably pretty safe to assume that your device will play nice with these headphones. I usually pair them up to my LG Watch Sport while I run. And if not there, then either my laptop or my G6. The reception seems to pretty good, it's my devices' transmission that seems questionable. To put it plainly, I have to wear my watch on the other hand to get a reliable connection (but that's the watch's fault) and my phone can be in the other room with no issues.
I didn't read the specs, so I don't know what "version" of bluetooth they're using, but Jaybird themselves say that the bluetooth "version" doesn't affect the sound.
Fitment -- very versatile. There's S/M/L silicone ear pieces that you can choose from. If that's not your style, there's Comply Memory Foam Tips (also in S/M/L) that you can try. Additionally, there's ear fin things that basically use the natural shape of the interior of your ear to hold the bud in place. As with the other things, these, too come in S/M/L. So you can get just about any fit you want. I know that mine personally aren't symmetrical, so don't be upset if yours aren't either!
The packaging is nothing really noteworthy. There's a small felt-type bag that you can use to store everything (no more silicone case). The packaging is devoid of any helpful paperwork since it's all on the website. This also includes clear instruction and even a video on how to set them up with the "athletic fitment."
Now, after all of this high praise, you're probably wondering why I was upset to admit that this is my third set of Jaybird earphones. Both sets prior to this only lasted me 8 months. Each. But the sound quality -- in my opinion -- is unmatched by other wireless headphones that are cheaper, and justifies spending all this money again. Due to my past experience, I have my doubts about these lasting over a year, but I'm staying positive.
For peace of mind, I got the Best Buy 2-year coverage thing, just in case.

Was debating on purchasing these or PowerBeats. Both are great products but I believe these Jaybirds are slightly better than the Powerbeats 2. Good bass, however the volume on these aren't as loud as the Beats but maybe it's just my personal preference.
Pros:
Good sound and Bass, comfortable, doesn't fall out when exercising.
Cons:
Volume not as loud, the charging adapter is funky I wish they got rid of the adapter and just use a USB C or straight micro USB.

I'm going to make this short and sweet.
First off.. I very RARELY give out perfect scores.. but if something deserves it, I absolutely WILL.. I've been using the Jaybird headphones for almost 2 years now starting with the F5 Freedom.. I'll just run down a shortlist of what I think about these new (for me) X3's
* Jaybirds are the FIRST headphones I ever got that doesn't break from my heavy sweating. I really really sweat alot!! I am 6'4'' with alot of energy and I run for about 3-4 miles 4 times a week.
* These headphones are in my opinion 100% customizable. The most comfy way for me to wear them are actually none of the styles listed by Jaybird.. but I still give them the kodos because the product gives me the option to figure out whatever works best for me.
*The sound quality on the F5 Freedoms was good... but these x3's are ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!! and I am an Audio Engineer and Music Producer, so I know exactly what I am listening for and listening to. Sound quality is Phenomenal.. Plus the app gives you FULL 100% CUSTOMIZATION!! Which is amazing in itself! especially when you understand audio frequencies enough to fine tune the output to literally anything you like.
*These things have amazing durability.
**Buy now some of you may be thinking that I was paid to write this.. but absolutely not! The main reason why I am really so in love with these headphones and the Jaybird brand.. is because the PRICE that you pay for this level of quality!!!!!! THAT'S really why I am praising these headphones and even Jaybird as a brand so much right now!! Cause I appreciate when a company and it's employees are slaving themselves for countless hours to deliver us (the consumer) the absolute best product possible.. for a price that many of us can actually afford!!
Thank you Jaybird.. I can really appreciate these, and your brand!

I was about to give up on a pair of wireless headphones until I read the reviews on the Jay Bird X3. They are Wonderfull, with plenty of volume, comfortable fit and great battery life. The Jay Bird app works very well and lets you customize your own sound preferences or try some that other users have shared. This is the best headset in the $100 to $150 range, on sale now for $129.99. You won't be sorry when you purchase this headset.

I never owned Bluetooth earbuds before. I wanted them not for working out but for commuting. I always had problems with the cord into the phone being pulled when I got off the train or bus. These eliminate the problem.
The sound is very, very good. Bass is nice without being overbearing. I also use the Sony MDRXB50AP which I like very much. I think the Jaybird X3's is comparable to the Sony's.
The fit is very comfortable. Jaybird includes a lot of tip sizes to choose from in both silicone and foam. I am using the foam tips and I find they fit my air perfectly. I don't use the wing pieces. The Jaybird X3's don't come loose or fall out of my ears.
The My Sound app is also very nice. I like it because I can adjust the sound with the custom equalizer setting. I also like that I can download and use other people's customizations.
The only thing I don't like is the charging adapter. I wish that it was just a micro USB plug instead of the cradle that is used. I am afraid of loosing it and leave it at home. I carry a USB cable with me but it is useless in charging the Jaybird X3 without that little cradle adapter. Right now there is no way to buy another one from the company.
On the plus side, the earbud charge lasts a long time and I never needed to recharge yet. They are rated at eight hours battery life and I have used them for over six hours without problems.
I looked at reviews for the Bose and Beats earbuds, but these seemed to get the best reviews of all. That is why I decided on buying them.
I am very happy with these earbuds and I am glad I bought them.

My Jaybird X2s died suddenly, so I purchased the X3s as a replacement. I primarily use these headphones while running and working out, and they are an improvement in every way over the X2s. The app to fine tune your EQ is great, the headphones have more bass that the X2s, and the build quality is a step up as well. The main downsides are it takes some effort to find your configuration of positioning, tip size and style, fin size and style, and how to shorten the cable with the brackets. But, once you have them dialed in, they are great sounding, lightweight headphones that are worth the price.
