Got them 2 days ago and already have problems. First day I turned down my volume from my phone while the earphones were connected & they ended up disconnecting completely. They didnt last 8 hrs at all even at a medium volume. I like the EQ thing with the App but every song is different so if you would want true sound, you would have to constantly mess with the eq. Today after charging them fully they stayed at 80% then 2 hrs later died on me. I will be returning them today & getting a much cheaper pair of something else.

      Hi DaNamesLB,

We're sorry to hear that the Jaybird X4 do not hold a charge and we'll be glad to help you out! Just send us an email at [email protected] and we will get you taken care of.

Please try the following to resolve the issue of your headset:

      - Computers are the best and safest method, as is anything 1 AMP or less.
      - Try a different power source/charger
      - Car chargers produce a much greater power supply and should be avoided.
      - Over-charging the battery will quickly reduce the life of the headphones, so in addition to monitoring the power supply, limit the charge time to 2 hours,
      - To get the most out of your battery it is recommended to charge the buds when the low battery status is indicated.
      - Avoid charging your headphones after exposure to sweat.
      - Make sure charging port/cradle is clear of any debris.

Finally, workout 'earphones' that survive sweat!

I have a wide variety of headphones and earphones, but these are the first Jaybirds I've owned and had the pleasure of using. Yes the in-style truly wireless earbuds that most people go for nowadays are ear pods, but they're not practical for working out especially with all the sweat generated. When I sweat, my entire shirt is drenched, that after the workout I change my shirt, and that shirt gets fully drenched as I'm cooling off. I want you to understand the amount of sweat generated. And this is why I've never enjoyed listening to music on runs, because nothing can handle my sweat. These Jaybird X4s have finally solved the problem. Being IPX7 Waterproof, sweat is nothing to them. I have other earphones that are water resistant or sweat proof that I feel aren't sufficient and get more wet than they should, and sometimes I feel a bit of an electric shock in my ears (not good I know), but so far the X4 has done wonders. No longer do I have to worry about them breaking, and about me worrying I'll get shocked in the ears. Also, they are very comfortable and don't easily fall out of my ears! I run a combination of trails and on the treadmill, and it always annoyed me when one side of the earbuds would come off while running, and I couldn't focus on my run as I was focused on making sure it wouldn't fall out of my ear or have to think about adjusting them. Keep your earpods for your commute to work or while working or in a coffee shop, but use your Jaybird X4 for your workouts.

I only used these headphones twice or should I say attempted to use them. I would charge them overnight and when I would go to use them. They would be dead, then I tried again and charged them while at work for majority of my 12 hour shift. When I again tried to use them they would say they were dead. The battery light also indicated they were charged, I guess that was a lie, I returned them at my earliest convenience.

A little disappointed. I have had similar headphones from this brand in the past, something with these is different and I’m. Not a fan. Because of the piece to help adjust the size of the slack it’s awkward and not balance doesn’t hold a long charge... I end up fumbling to keep it in place while working out.... tragedy really but normally this is a good brand

I purchased this headset 11 days ago and now it doesn't power on. Even when connected to the charging cable, it doesn't indicated that it's being charged. I read previous reviews from users experiencing this same issue, but didn't really expect it to happen. I'll be returning the defective headset back to Best Buy for a refund.

They were great at first but only lasted just over the one year manufacturers warranty. The speaker part fell off, sound went in an out until they ultimately broke completely. They were kept in the pouch and only used a few times a week at the gym. For the price, and lack of over all use, I expected more from Jaybird. Disappointed!

I bought these to replace a pair of Bluebuds X which died suddenly after several years of good service. The sound is quite good, fit is much improved over the Bluebuds X (and over the Freedom which I had previously). These are the first Jaybirds I have owned where the fit has been both flawlessly comfortable and which do not come loose and do not require constant pressing back into my ears. So far I have only run with these on a treadmill a few times for thirty minutes or so at a time but they maintained fit and seal in my ears the entire time, something the Bluebuds X would not do with any combination of tips/wings. The X4 fit perfectly right out of the box with no adjustment. I do not like the cord management of the X4 as it leaves a sizeable loop of excess cord to protrude from the back of the neck. Also the cord material tends to stick to the back of my neck which prevents me from turning my head without pulling the buds out of my ears or constantly twiddling with the cord. There is a good chance this could be improved a lot by repositioning the eartips and running the cords over my ears instead of under but like all the Jaybirds, this pretty much obliterates the use of the inline mic to make calls. Finally the 4 inch charging cable is pretty ridiculous but should work well with a generic USB extension cable which you'd have to buy separately.

I am slightly disappointed in Jaybirds production of the x4. The sound quality and comfort are as expected which are not bad. The sound is very deep and rich and the buds are comfortable to wear and block out all ambient sound. The build quality seems a bit cheap and ordinary. I do not like how the ear tips are separate from the buds which makes it feel unsecure and hard to get the buds to fit the same on each side. I thought they would have upgraded this feature from the previous versions. Over time I think the wing tips will wear out and not stay put on the buds as they feel really thin. I do not like the charging cradle feature at all. I would rather have the universal usb-c charging dock for ear buds just in case I don't want to carry an additional charging cradle, So overall, as a Bluetooth earbud set it is fine for listening to music while lounging or working out. I just am not impressed with the whole design and production for something at this price point. There are better options if you want to reach into your pocket for this much.

So my Jay bird x died after 4 years. Decided to stay with jaybird and bought a pair of x4.... I used to be able to leave my phone at the weight bench and walk 25 ft to get a drink of water.... Hi Mjfoster77,

We are sorry to hear that you're experiencing a connection issue with your Jaybird X4 and we'll be glad to help you out! Just send us an email at [email protected] and we will get you taken care of.

Please follow the recommendations below to resolve the issue with your headset:

-Move your earbuds and your Bluetooth audio device closer as you may be experiencing Bluetooth interference. While the range of most Bluetooth devices is 10 meters (33 feet), the optimal range for any Bluetooth stereo device is about 60 centimeters (2 feet) from the audio source.
-Your earbuds Bluetooth antenna is located in the inline remote. Try moving your audio device closer to the side where the inline remote is located. For example, you can try moving your audio device to your right pocket instead of your left.
-Reset your Bluetooth connection by turning your device's Bluetooth off for one minute and then back on.
-Turn your audio device off and then back on.
-Complete a reset of your earbuds.

You can use the Jaybird App's equalizer for a custom sound experience. The equalizer preset will be saved in your buds.
