High quality & good sound. But not for me.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have looked over all the reviews , you will see all types of technical details, features etc. I’m not going to rehash all that and most people do not read through a long review. I own the Jaybird X3 version and at first glance, the X4 is not that different. However, there are subtle differences . The X4’s are very comfortable, even more so than the X3’s . Both are very light but the X4 has a a redesigned ear piece that is softer and just fits better. Construction is high quality and the fit and finish is top notch. The sound is good but I really do not hear much of a difference between the X4’s and X3’s . The reality is most headphones sound good at this price point. It does come with an app to adjust the sound to your liking but I did not install it. As I said , most headphones sound the same at this price point. There is a good reason for that, sound quality will only get so good without active noise cancellation. And brings me to one of the things I do not like , no active noise cancellation. Most people say they can do without that but they tend to change their tune when they test out a set that has it. Another thing I do not like is the proprietary charging connecter. It is easy to charge but if you lose the charging dongle , you are out of luck until you replace it. I would have preferred a more universal USB connecter on the X4. So are the Jaybird’s X 4 worth buying? Yes and no. It is not worth the upgrade over the Jaybird X3’s or similar headphones on the market. If you are looking for a new headset in the $130 price point range then the X4 has most of what you would like. For me personally, I am not a big fan of wireless headsets that are connected by wires. I've been using the X4's for about a week and , like the X3's, I just cannot seem to get as comfortable as truly wireless headphones that are "in ear." Jaybird does make them and they only cost about 25% more ( it is called the Jaybird Run.) That is more a personal preference than a slight to the X4’s but worth noting. With that in mind, I would recommend the X4's as long as you are a person that likes this type of design.

Solid Choice for Workouts
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.-- PROS -- - Solid construction - Good battery life - IPX7 rating makes them easy to clean - Extra ear tips and ear fins included - Decent sound quality (when used with the app) - Siri support with a long press of the power button -- CONS -- - The charging cable is crazy small - Sound quality is just "meh" without an app I've never owned a pair of Jaybird headphones before, but I've only heard good things from people who owned them. I was quite excited to finally give these a try, and I wasn't disappointed. The X4 headphones are very light-weight, but don't feel cheap. The IPX7 rating makes them ideal for working out, plus they can be cleaned with a quick rinse under the sink (just make sure they dry before storing/using). Pairing the X4 is super easy, even if you don't have the app installed first (I didn't). I HIGHLY recommend that you download the Jaybird app for the EQ settings. The X4 headphones sound "okay" without the app (totally depends on your choice of music), but you won't get the most out of the headphones without the different EQ settings (you can create your own personal setting or use one of the several pre-set options). Battery life is actually pretty good for something so small. Jaybird rates these for up to 8 hours, but that rating is under ideal circumstances. I'm getting a little over 7 hours, but I listen to my music a little louder than I should. Charging is a minor annoyance for the X4. The included charger is just way too small. I get that they wanted it to fit in the included headphone pouch, but a longer, flexible cable would have been better. The charger has a solid connection to the headphones, so it can dangle from the wall outlet (you supply the charging block), but it looks ridiculous. -- BOTTOM LINE -- If you're looking for a solid pair of headphones that are water and sweat proof, you should considering picking these up. Just know that you will need to use the companion app to get the most out of them.

Jaybird Quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Jaybird is known for having quality earphones, and these are no exception Sound is great, comfort is good, and they last in the most demanding situations - running in the rain The price point is good, even though they are not truly wireless - they still have a cord

The best! (Don't forget to download the app)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned my X3's since they came out and I love them. My wife wanted headphones and we tried the Bose Soundsport based on reviews. We immediately returned them due to the sound not being even close to Jaybird and the bulkiness. The X4's are small, lightweight, and the ear buds are very comfortable. DOWNLOAD THE APP. The standard sound setting will throw you off as they don't sound the the greatest. You can change the sound settings through the app and they will sound completely sound different.

Sounds Great, Many Features.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, these headphones sound great! Especially when you pair them with the app. I use these while at the gym and they work pretty well. The inline controls work well with my iPhone and the mic sounds good if I use bit with the phone. The wings hold the earpieces in place when I'm running. Overall these are a good product, sound great and work well!

Best everyday headphones I've used in years...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before writing this I went through and browsed the other reviews to make sure I didn't write more of the same or repeat the same talking points over and over again. So if you want a list of exacting features, specs, or anything like that, read the other reviews :) Now, with that out of the way I will start off by saying that I have about three dozen other headphones in my house at this exact moment. These range from $10 units you find around the check-out area of random stores, right on up to $600 open-back over ears and $300 ear buds -- with a slew of others mixed in between. Now, none of those equate to genuine audiophile quality, but, there's some stellar offerings in the bunch...and these Jaybird X4's are the best in the mix for every day, all situations use. I've worn them in the back yard doing yard work, around the house while cleaning, and have used them exclusively the past week and half as my IEM's while drumming. The foam ear pieces that come with them (highly recommend ANY foam buds in place of the silicone...if you haven't made the switch already, just do it...you'll thank me later -- they fit better, for longer, and seal sooooo much nicer) do an excellent job sealing out ambient noise when you want that "isolated" feel. They also do a great job of keeping sweat OUT, something I've always had a problem with on silicone buds. The app, while minimal, is great and essential for getting the best sound profile out of the X4's. Depending on the genre you're listening to you might want more high's, a fuller mid-range, or a little more bass...the infinitely adjusted EQ allows just that. Along with being able to pick presets from others, the app really is a no-brainer. Ok, that's my own take on these, but I completely agree with the pros/cons found on all the other reviews, even the lower 3-star feedback. Now, do I think some of the cons are a little nit-picky? Yeeuup, but hey...we all have different priorities and tolerances for certain things. I don't find the charging cradle (nor it's short length) enough of a hassle to remove a star. And while the cable management system on the X3's is behind the neck instead of under the chin, I forgot about this alteration 10 minutes into the first wear. This coming after thought I was immediately going to hate not having the old behind-the-neck system. But, I was proven wrong. Do these reinvent the wheel? No. Do they do something new that other units don't? No. But, they do all the things better collectively across the board than anything even remotely close to this price-point. I would say it would take some molded or dedicated IEM's ($800+) to really make me feel the same way these did upon first listen/extended listen.

These things are great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These things are phenomenal. I can have them in, and on a very low setting, and I can't hear a thing other than what I am listening too. The best part is, when putting my little one down for bed, I can listen to the TV as loud as I wan using these head phones. These things are absolutely worth the money.

EXCELLENT WIRELESS HEADPHONES!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the Jaybird X4 wireless headset for about a year. I returned a set of beats headphones and got these. That was an extremely wise decision. The sounds quality is sooo much better that the beats. I also recently washed them in one of my jackets by accident. After I got them out, I assumed they wouldn't be working anymore but these headphone still work!! That's what made me write this review. The quality and durability of these headphones is great and I highly recommend them!!

Great while they worked, which was not long
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a pair in early 2018 for use while running and at work. The fit and sound quality were very good. The battery could last longer, but at least they tell you how much charge is left. The charger is clumsy, and easily lost, and I lost it once and had to replace it. Worse, however, was that the earbuds stopped working after 4 months. That is, they would not charge. The tech rep walked me through a reset. That worked once and they lasted another couple months. Then they stopped working again, this time for good.

Posted .Hello David,
We are sorry to hear that your Jaybird X4 won't charge. Please send us an email at [email protected] and we will get you taken care of to improve your experience.
Please try these troubleshooting steps that can help to resolve the issue of your headset's battery:
-Computers are the best and safest method, as is anything 1 AMP or less.
-Car chargers produce a much greater power supply and should be avoided.
-Over-charging the battery will quickly reduce the life of the headphones, so in addition to monitoring the power supply, limit the charge time to 2 hours,
-To get the most out of your battery it is recommended to charge the buds when the low battery status is indicated.
-Avoid charging your headphones after exposure to sweat.
-Make sure charging port/cradle is clear of any debris.

Done With Jaybird
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over the years I have tried more bluetooth and corded earbuds than I can recall. I certainly can however, recall every pair of Jaybirds I have owned, which have been *many* - and I say this not because I purchased them repeatedly. I have purchased, and had at least one warranty replacement of Jaybirds, X2 and X3 and now X4 models. Once for the Jaybirds, 2 for the X2 and 3 times for the X3. I'm not even going to bother with the X4's, and have no intention of giving them yet another chance. It's a pity, since the sound quality is superior to most. Problems encountered: Would not charge. Would not pair. Quit after (x) months. Would not turn on. Etc. All but one warranty replacement was done without *much* hassle. This last one was a very painful process that needed escalation. Foolishly, I coughed up another hundred bucks for the X4, and after less than a dozen uses, the pairing went down the tubes, and the device became very finicky on taking a charge. Then - like the others, it simply croaked. If you buy these, first realize the dongle to charge is a pain. You'll lose it, or leave it somewhere else when you need a charge. The battery life will degrade to 50% of peak within a few months and if you make it that far, consider yourself lucky. That is especially the case if you either sweat, or use these in an environment where water (rain, etc) is part of the equation.

Good Upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used the X3 but thought I would upgrade to the X4 mainly for the improved waterproofing. Have been using them for a few days and so far really happy. They're quite similar to the X3, but they feel more comfortable in my ears.

Poor replacement for the X3 and still crippled by
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned many Bluetooth earbuds by many different manufacturers, I tend to go through them quickly due to the rugged environment of my job. When my last set of LG bids died, I borrowed my wife's Jaybird X3's. They were great, sturdy, long battery life. I decided to get a pair. When I did, only the new X4's were available. I thought they could only be better, but sadly that was wrong. The X4 battery life is, literally without exaggeration, half that of the X3. My daily routine is unchanged and when I used an older pair of X3's I occasionally had to charge them a little toward the end of the day to make it, but I have to charge my X4's at least twice, usually 3 times to make it the whole day, and I got them brand new from Best Buy. The worst part is the proprietary charging clip, after a month it doesn't reliably work and I have to spend several minutes trying to get it to connect and charge. I am definitely glad I got the protection plan because I am now looking to replace them with a different brand.

Amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a power beats fan for years. With the beats 2 being my favorite earbuds of all time. I upgraded to the power beats 3 this month and they were very disappointing. So I returned then and our heading and Jaybird x4 after countless research and boy was I shocked with these earbuds. The sound blowing beats out of the water and with the customizable EQ the sound options are endless. I was uncertain to how they would stay in my ears during a run or CrossFit workout and after a few workouts and runs I have nothing but great things to say. They did not budge at all while in my ears I would recommend these to anyone looking for new earbuds.

Poor quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tried a few pairs of Bluetooth ear buds recently, and had two pairs of the X4's. They do sound great, and the fact the EQ can be adjusted is fantastic, it makes a difference, but not a huge one. The reason I went for the X4's over Bose was down to battery life and decent reviews. Bose appear to have a weak battery and most people I know get four hours out of them, well these are good for double or better. A week ago, I got a pair of X4's. Charged them up, played music, all good. Then the headset crackled a few times, and the Bluetooth would stall. Then it would not power off, My friend said to charge them to see if it would reboot them. It did not work, and then they would not power up. Back to BB. So, another week looking at reviews and such, decided to try them again. Charged up, tried them out briefly, all fine. So this morning at work, I am 20 ft. with a direct line of sight, guess what? Bluetooth keeps cutting in and out. Even when I am right next to them. It is pitiful. They fit great, look the part and cut out all the ambient noise around me, and they also cut out half of the music I am trying to listen to. I'd like to think there is a bad batch of green X4's at BB in Huntsville, and I am more than apprehensive to try another pair. All in all, I am very underwhelmed with the clarity of the BT and durability of the X4. More importantly, I'm going to waste another hour or so of my life that I cannot get back down to this product.

Perfect Headphones for Workouts

Best on the market hands down!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted earbuds with decent sound to use in the gym so I figured Powerbeats 3 would be the best because of them being owned by apple now. WRONG! They started malfunctioning after heavy use and sweat ofcourse so I had to return them. Picked up these Jaybirds and they sounds SOOO much better than the powerbeats and were cheaper too. Jaybird all the way!
