    Powerful

I will say, this thing is powerful. It shakes the floor and walls. Thunder storm in the movie or right outside your window? Hard to tell. You get all the low sounds. You get sounds that you didn't even know were in the movie before. Growling monsters? Check. Rumbling engine? Did someone just crash into my house? Unfortunately, though, it's too powerful for the 100W JBL Link Bar. I got the sub for free with the bar. It's loud enough to drown out all dialogue when the subwoofer is rumbling. There are no controls (unless I'm missing something) to turn it down. Also, for some reason JBL lists the sub as 300W on their website, but Best Buy says 150W. It is pretty simple to use. Just plug it in, press the button on the back, and then press the sub pairing button on the soundbar. Done. All volume is controlled when adjusting bar. It really would be nice to be able to have a knob or something to turn it down/otherwise adjust bass. The sub is great for listening to bass-heavy music. Sounds fantastic. It is HUGE, though. It's about the size of a small end table. Yes, it has a 10 inch sub in it, but it's on the bottom pointing down. The case is about 1 ft square and nearly two feet tall. Huge. See picture. Roomba and chair for scale.

Thanks for your feedback. The controls for the volume and adjustment of the bass can be managed using the Link Bar. You have to use the remote control to make the adjustments. The maximum power or peak that this subwoofer can handle is at 300 watts, 150 watts is the RMS or root mean square power handling, refers to how much continuous power (average) the speaker can handle. For a soundbar sub this thing is pretty darn good compared to any other soundbar I've had. I have it in a corner of an open 1100ft2 first floor and it makes things shake all around. It pairs nicely with the soundbar and is easy to adjust the bass level. The only complaint I have is with the crossover. They have it set quite high, so it plays a lot of notes I wish it didn’t at times. I find in those situations that I can pinpoint the exact location of the sub which is not a good thing. I also had to put it on a bass mat because it’s down firing and my floors made a lot of noise - not a complaint though since it’s my floors that cause the issue. Overall though I am very happy with the sub and would recommend to anyone who wants more output than the small 5-6.5” subs many bars come with.

Received free with purchase of JBL Link bar and glad I did. The cabinet is somewhat large but it looks clean so placing it in the open isn't much of a concern. Only a power cord to attach so keeping cords hidden isn't difficult. Setup was a breeze and the sound is more than powerful enough. You're able to adjust the sub level through the link bar and I have mine set slightly below the default setting. Deep bass shines, mid bass leaves a little to be desired. I believe this only works with the link bar so it is what it is. Overall though very happy with this subwoofer.

This nicely rounds out the Link Bar. The wireless connection is a breeze to set up and hide the sub anywhere. The bass is adjustable with the remote for a subtle enhancement to rock your world. Take time for proper sub placement so it performs well. The sound is impressive filling a large 20x40 room. This unit with the Link Bar made me a believer that a sound bar can do a very satisfying job and is 100% better than TV speakes, BTW this only works with the Link Bar.

I got this as a gift for buying the JBL Link soundbar. So a $300 subwoofer for free is not to bad. But the quality is insane. Sure it's a lot bigger and heavier than expected, but it makes my floor shake. Playing video games and having this on sometimes makes me think the effects are real.

JBL quality once again in the form of a wireless subwoofer that pair is only with the JBL link bar. Subwoofer works flawlessly And while the Link bar is good enough Bass, the subwoofer brings it to a whole new level.

My favorite sub to any soundbar setup we've owned, to 10in sub you can really feel, I don't buy the crazy expensive stuff, but this is seriously powerful for its price point. Wish I woulda bought couple while we're on efini

Highly recommend this. When my up stairs neighbor is home I have to lower the bass. It’s got that much power just on the basic level. The jbl sound bar was an upgrade but the sub just adds to it.

I originally bought the Roku sound bar along with the Roku subwoofer which by the way is a great product but is more about the streaming player than about the audio quality it sounds okay but is overpriced for its level of audio quality.I found the JBL link bar on sale and decided to buy it. It was during checkout that I noticed this subwoofer was offered as a free gift with purchase. Awesome! Let me say I am happy that I did because this woofer (along with the linkbar) sounds great and compared to the Roku counterpart far exceeds audio quality. I had to turn the base down it shakes the house.

This sub came free with the JBL Link Bar, so take that into account for this review:). It’s a 10-Inch downfiring sub, and it performs well with the JBL Link Bar. Bass is tight and not boomy. It definitely makes both music and TV audio much better with the Link Bar. If you don’t want to hear where the bass comes from (for a good blend with the soundbar) position it at the same plane as your soundbar. If you don’t care about that, you can probably place it anywhere in your room. If you crank it up in either case, it can be felt. For our usage, we have the sub level just a shade under 50%.
