Just go for it. I got two sound-bar at this range on BlackFriday and then compared side by side. This really have good punching Bass along with good high frequency range. So finally kept this one and returned the other one. Loving It ....

This thing is awesome! At first I was not satisfied at all with the sound and base but after warming up the unit and experimenting with different volumes, this thing now rocks the house. All the reviews of the subwoofer lacking at low volume are completely true, so if you're in a volume sensitive environment then that is definitely a concern because you have to push the sound for the base to kick in but once it gets going then it's there to stay. Pros: Bluetooth works pretty good Hdmi arc working perfectly No sound cutting chopping like my old sound bar Base is awesome The design is much more elegant IMO This thing is like VTEC. It wants to get loud and heavy - it needs it to show off. DTS is like ear candy Cons: *This con only applies for low volume watching* There is no smart base algorithm, it pretty much needs to stay at high base if you're watching a movie at low volume but if you're watching a TV show then the vocals get distorted a bit so you go back to medium but then it sounds just alright and not like you dropped $300 for a high end sound experience. Since I'm not in a volume sensitive environment, this sound bar is a solid 5 stars. I'd recommend anyone to try it out, put the base on high, turn up the sound, and experience the sound how it was designed with a movie that has DTS support. Then once you've experienced the best it has to offer, turn down the volume and watch your favorite TV show and figure out if you are forgiving of its short comings after you experienced its best. If not, return it and move on because at this budget you should be satisfied.

Great sound quality for the price. Easy set up with HDMI cord provided. Comcast cable remote recognizes sound bar which is a plus. I would have given it a 5 star if it had a feature to by pass the bass sound. You could only choose low, medium, and high. Great low bass sound for music, CDs, DVDs, streaming videos, and action movies on regular television broadcasts. But when viewing regular television broadcasts like news and talk shows, even in low position, can still be a bit bassy.

I am a huge fan of JBL products as a bass head. I got JBL speakers in my cars, JBL Subs/Amps the whole shabang. Now this product here is quite amazing. Takes less than three minutes to setup. The sound bar has great sound quality you would expect for the price. But where the real meat and potatoes come in is the bass can. This baby has got the sound quality to really make your house move. Deep delicious bass that is very harmonic. They must got the design for the can down to get the sounds that it can reach. Fair warning though. If you live in a apartment like i do. Even on the lowest setting you are gonna make some neighbors unhappy. The bottom line is that if you are looking for a sound bar with good sound quality, deep base, slim design. Look no further as JBL has got you.

I'll start off by saying that I'm returning this soundbar. I replaced it with the Polk Signa S2 which was also almost $100 cheaper. Now for the reasons why I returned this soundbar. I needed a soundbar for my room. This soundbar was way too loud for it. What I mean with that is that even though the volume level goes up to 32, I could never take it past 5; and even that was pushing it most of the time. I was usually between 2 and 4. I could barely hear it at level 1, then it was a big jump to level 2 and another big jump to level 3. After that, the increases between levels were smaller and more normal. One of the biggest issues with this, besides the volume just being too loud or too soft, is that the subwoofer barely activated at such low levels, which means there was pretty much no bass. If I ever took the levels past 7 or 8, then the bass would come in and it would be pretty great. But by that point the volume was way too high. If you have a larger room or don't live in an apartment, this may be a good soundbar for you. Maybe I got a defective unit, but I would test it out in your room and make sure it works fine for you. Otherwise, I like the Polk one much more even though it has quite a few less Watts. The sound is richer and and you'll save quite a bit of money.

It has very nice sound quality and was extremely easy to install (just plug in the HDMI and power cords). This is definitely a bass-forward system, but you can adjust High-Medium-Low bass settings. I typically will use Low subwoofer for normal TV and Medium sub for movies. For my smaller living room, the High sub setting is a little overpowering for anything I watch.
