The subwoofer is powerful and you can definitely feel the bass and I haven’t even had it on full blast or close to it. Movie sound mode is the best option in my opinion. The only issue I have is with the remote but I still give it 5 stars

not for music, very not for audiobooks

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.streaming bluetooth, if the sound file actively streaming is quiet the bar/system shuts off, audibly I might add (a thump from the sub). It comes back on when there's sound again, but it that makes it miss about half a second of the audio. crazy annoying. I saw in another review that this happened for someone when they were fast-forwarding their TV (so no active audio), and I thought 'no way would JBL do that through bluetooth, I have several of their small bluetooth players and they work fantastic'. Well it does. and that makes music annoying and audiobooks basically unlistenable. The sound quality is good if you like that small speaker / subwoofer sound; I'd say it's at least as good as the original 5.1 bose single cube system.

The only complaint at a this time is I found out the three center speakers do not work on the sound bar unless you can hook it up to the ARC on back of your tv. At least that's what JBL told me.

The bar which the center one puts out the voices and helps taper back the background noises in a movie. I would highly suggest this unit for that reason! Also it bluetooths to every unit you have hooked up to it very easily.
