when it work, sound is great. However, the speaker volume reset itself to 00, no sound. resetting won't work, I just have to unplug and leave it for a day and it would work again. The volume some time for no reason would max out at 47 and can't turn it down, unplug won't work, reset won't work. I bought openbox for $350 at bestbuy, only have warranty for 90 days, wish I gotten warranty now. This is the first time an electronic fail on me. Maybe I should buy at Costco and get an 2 years of warranty on all electronic.

Also, the package did not include an optical cord, which i had to obtain from my son-in-law. It had just the HDMI cord, which apparently was not appropriate or sufficient.

The sound bar connects effortlessly to WiFi and blue tooth devices and has an excellent bass, however the quality of audio and conversation in movie mode is at best mediocre

We ended up returning this because it was not what we were looking for. We are still looking for what we want. So, I gave it 3 stars only because it couldn't be reviewed. I'm sure it is great for someone.

Only took one week for the subwoofer to break and not turn on anymore. While the system was working it sounded great, but it didn’t take long for me to need to return it.

    So far so good...

Was in the market for a sound bar for my 75’ Samsung 4K tv. I recently moved my Klipsch RB10 to my 60’ Samsung Plasma (plasma rules, by the way) tv. I researched and looked for months. Was sold on Sonos, but got realistic and realized I didn’t need a $1,400 sound bar and sub. Overkill for my needs. Looked at Definitive Audio and they are expensive as well. Of course, looked at Bose too. I like Klipsch, my RB10 is a really nice bar. However, I was looking for something with 4K pass through and HDMI, ARC. I know the newer Klipsch bars have these features, but I’ll tell ya, the Klipsch bars are like bricks. Very big and bulky. But very nice sounding bars. Decided to go with the JBL 3.1. So far so good. Easy to install and sub connected flawlessly. After installing, I used my cable remote to turn up the volume. To my surprise, it worked! Just automatically synced (I guess). Didn’t have to type in a code or anything. It was like magic. As all have said, bass is deep and strong. Was $100 off at Best Buy. Lots of features and great sound for $400. Fits my needs. Glad I didn’t drop $700-1,400 on a sound bar. Hopefully this bar continues to perform well. On a side note...Klipsch has fantastic customer support, Jbl’s is horrendous! Anyway, great bar. Would highly recommend. Thanks JBL.

Not a home theater system but okay. Selected it because it was the best sounding system in the store but at home bass is either too much or not enough and treble is weak.

In my opinion this sound bar is not good for a main home theater. I don’t think it’s advanced enough for a main home theater, unless you have a small budget or your expectations are not high.

    Finally A Soundbar worth buying!

I have to start off by saying I was floored when I heard this unit in the store. I have had an A/V addiction my whole adult life and finally moved up in the world and bought a 4K today on Black Friday. I was in need of a simple, clean solution for my TV in the living room. I have serious audio equipment downstairs in my Theater, so I didn't need anything crazy because I do most of my movie watching downstairs. I settled on a soundbar for the simple and clean presentation. I required something that had 4k passthrough and had some bass impact as a lack of bass would turn me off from even buying a soundbar. Instantly there were three options that suited me, the JBL SB-450, the JBL Bar 3.1, and the Klipsch RSB-11. I listened to all in store. I think out of the three, the Klipsch had clearer and better vocal and midrange, but was seriously lacking in the bass department. The SB-450 was slightly better than the Bar 3.1 in mids and highs, but the 10" sub on the Bar 3.1 made the Klipsch sub sound and feel like a toy. The SB-450 had good bass response but the Bar 3.1 bass abilities sold me. The bar 3.1 has a much better remote than the SB-450 as well. Set up in my large living room, this thing is awesome! The bass is seriously impressive if you love bass. I never though I would find a subwoofer this powerful on a commercially available and affordable sound bar. The vocals are pretty good while the mids are a little lacking, but it still sounds awesome for movie use. Don't hesitate buying this if you are looking for an affordable setup without the mess of a normal 5.1 system. Good job JBL!

I am unsure as to whether the product is actually good or not because and I must stress here THIS IS NOT MADE TO BE USED WITH A COMPUTER. The sales associate that "helped" me that day took me over to look at sound bars because I had told him that the computer speakers I had been buying kept blowing out and he recommended that I buy this and that the speaker wouldn't blow out and that while these are typically meant for TVs it would work flawlessly with a computer. That was a blatant lie, the thing does work but it constantly cuts out and does weird things like it will go silent for 2 seconds then the sound comes back and i am now aware that this is because THESE ARE NOT MEANT TO BE USED WITH COMPUTERS. I imagine this is a great product if used with a TV but because I was not using it for that and the sales associate outright lied to me about the product, I cannot leave a good review for this based on what I bought it for. Be careful, this is not the first time a Best Buy employee has lied or mislead me just to sell an item and I have also found that they have a semi large group of people that work there that pretend to know about what you want but they actually have no idea and they are just trying to get you to buy more expensive merchandise.

Sub woofer stopped working after a couple weeks. Bought the protection plan but figured it was under warranty. Told me to bring it in for an exchange, unhooked it from the wall woth all the cables. Best Buy hooks it up for a few min, the sub softer turns on and they say it was error user. Took it back home and it stopped working again after 10 min. Now it will be in for repair for longer than it has been in my living room. Best Buy gave me the run around all day and the manger was a coward that pushed me away to young sales associates thank you Michael rozborski for you’re great management skills

The subwoofer did not connect automatically as it is supposed to, and I had the instructions that came with the product were very limited. I was able to go on-line to manually complete the wireless connection. Unfortunately, once connected, the sound quality of the subwoofer was poor, with some random static and ticking noises. I will be returning this product
