I'll give 5 stars for it's awesome sound. The bass shakes my couch when cranked to level 5, the highest. It did work essily with my samsung s95d through the eARC. The app for this has an equalizer...kinda rudimentary but allowe low mid and high adjustments. My only complaints are each time it starts up it is in it's smart mode...i like it off abd there is a way to turn it off...but each time...kind of a pia...also one time it lost communication with my tv and i had to unplug it then it was fine.

Great sound and easy to set up but loses connection often. We have to unplug it to reset it. If I hadn't thrown away the box I would probably return it because it's annoying.

The sound quality is pretty good. I like the wireless sub-woofer's sound from where it sits on the opposite side of the room. It gives a very good surround sound effect; especially during action movies. I am not sure how the BAR 500 compares with other brands in the same price range. My only "complaint" is that the font size of the configuration instructions should/could be increased.

I recently purchased the JBL BAR 500 5.1ch Soundbar with Multibeam and Dolby Atmos, and I am absolutely blown away by the sound quality! JBL's soundbar and subwoofer have changed by tv from something I watch, to something I truly experience. While the speakers in my new LG tv aren't that bad, they in no way compare to the JBL's. Sure, it's a little pricey, compared with the lesser offerings of other brands, but absolutely worth every penny.

Fantastic. I've read every review possible and for my needs, this fit the bill. Sometimes, one needs to take the reviews with a grain of salt. There are so many dynamics involved. For me, the quality of the sound is fat, crisp and defined. Perfect size for our needs. Setup was a breeze and the app is nifty. One review claimed the sound for movies was "decent." It's better than decent. Another complaint was it downmixes Atmos. It's only a problem if you're trying to get Atmos to two TV's. Otherwise, who cares. I was able to buy the Bar 500 on sale and saved $200. Great deal at $399.

This was recommended by my best friend in Minnesota- This has a LOT of bang for the buck! With that being said this is the second JBL unit I’ve had in the past week. The first one the bass was excellent but the bar didn’t work after calibration. I returned it within 2 hours and tried to “exchange “ for the same model the CS agent said there were no more in stock, even though the app said there were several. I accepted the refund and went home to order Sonos Arc Ultra to be delivered 2 days later, today is the day it was to arrive and this morning I received a message saying it couldn’t be delivered until January 12 (today is 12/29) so I went to the store and saw several Arc Ultra’s on the shelf I purchased this system online as soon as I heard the order wouldn’t arrive for almost 2 weeks. So far I like this system and am saving over $1000 so I highly recommend this over the Sonos only because Best Buy severely dropped the ball. I’ll be making a payment to my credit card on the Sonos before it even arrives. SMH (oh I can’t cancel the order until it arrives now because it has “shipped “) so with a delay in refund of up to 5 business day's after return that means it will be almost 3 weeks before I get a refund from the date purchased.

Purchased for use with a new Hisense U7 tv. I now have two of these sound bars. Both are in large rooms (20'x27') and the sound is excellent for basic tv viewing. The sub is more than adequate when placed properly. Poor placement of the sub will make it seem like it lacks power. Free app on Android is a great way to control the system. Connection with eArc port via HDMI is easy and works well.

Upgraded to this from a non atmos supported Sony and it’s fantastic. I’ve always been a Sony fan but I couldn’t come close at this current price point of $349 with Sony. We have a pretty standard sized living room and it does a really solid job on filling the room. The bass thumps and it elevates your movie viewing experience. Highly recommend at the on sale price but even at its normal price it would be well worth it.

I bought this to replace an older Polk bar that I’ve had for years and I really wasn’t sure what to expect, it had been a while since I’d shopped for good audio equipment, but I knew this was the one as soon as it came up in the app showing an open box with no remote ($100 off!) but that’s no problem for my harmony. I was already out the door to pick it up. I’d been a huge fan of JBL since I first started driving and had to custom retrofit my car dashboard in order to fit infinity kappa perfect tweeters in the corner of the windshield. I wasn’t going to settle for anything less back then, and I decided I was gonna get something really good this time around too. I knew this was the one. Holy cow. I hadn’t realized how far soundbars have come since the last time I looked at anything seriously. Dolby atmos? I have no clue what that is, but I’m definitely plugging in my series x through this hdmi pass through and finding out. It blew me away. I really didn’t know what I was missing. I’d never felt as immersed in the game in my own living room. This thing makes movies truly feel cinematic in my 17’ x 12’ living room. I’m definitely looking to upgrade my 55” next because the sound honestly makes me feel like I’m missing out on what is a great experience. The Bluetooth range on this thing is amazing. Saturday mornings I play music and clean. I take the trash out to the detached garage that has to be about 50’ away and through all the walls of the house and I can still hear it. I know my neighbors must be tired of it by now, but I promise it’s not too loud, this thing just kicks! Plus I always wait for a decent hour before I start. If you’re looking to treat yourself to something a little special that’s really going to amp up your media experience, but don’t want to go too crazy with componen/bespoke or don’t need a 7.2, this is really the top of the heap. This is by far my most satisfying best buy purchase in years.

Awesome sound that file tthe room.as if you had a fuil 5.1 system. For a fraction of the price. Plenty of Bass from the sun no matter the placenta in the room. And and set up is a breeze with the JBL one app

the unit sounds great, looks great, and is nice and small. but the one thing holding me back from 5 stars is that the default mode is this fake surround sound thing they call smart mode or something. it sounds weird. you have to manually turn it off and it cannot be configured "off" by default. Aside from that one annoyance this this is great

Absolutely worth buying. The sound is very clear and can get load. The app makes it really nice to fine tune the settings for best quality sound. The best part of this setup is the subwoofer. Its a hige subwoofer for the price ans sounds Absolutely amazing.

I have tried a few different sound bars with speakers/subs and generally they are not very good when it comes to quality and sound. This JBL is just different it is amazing ! Sound Quality is amazing and the Sub is very powerful you can get home theater quality from this product. Even at low volume this system pumps ! you wont find a sound bar on the market that can compare to this trust me. Super happy with this product and will be buying JBL for future audio upgrades that is for sure !

I loved the bass it has. It’s loud. Great for listening to music. Only problem is when you’re watching a movie or show and can barely hear the voices then you raise the volume up and *BOOM*! Loud noise all of a sudden. Then lower it down and all you hear is *whispering*.

So had a smasung soundbar Q600 i think was the model number. Well ended up going out, within a year of purchase. The subwoofer started popping bad. Saw this on sale and had to jump on it. The calibration it has is amazing. The first time hearing it, i could believe how crisp and clear the sound was. Adjust your bass... knocked my display set off going all out loo. Great sound great connection. So glad went with this option instead.

It's got great sound and we're glad we settled on this soundbar. We had a Bose which was very good but it had no subbwoofer. We exchanged it for this one which has the subwoofer and the subwoofer makes it so much better.

Great for the money we paid. Open Box deal. Hooks up to the network and allows basic equalizer settings. HDMI ARC and CEC work fine. TV remote powers on / off and controls volume without fail. The sound quality if better than average. It’s slightly clearer than the bar 300 we tried, the sub offers more Bass and exciting sound. However for a typical bedroom to add just TV intelligibility and volume could see most being very happy with the Bar300. If gaming or a more cinematic experience is preferred I’d definitely go Bar 500 or better. It’s our new Master bedroom set up.

Easy set up, Clean sound, and deep bass! Worth every penny
