Big sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this up as a replacement to my old LG sound bar that worked totally fine, but was probably 5 years old. Out of the box, I was surprised by the size of everything. I thought my old soundbar and subwoofer were pretty standard in size but these JBLs are much bigger. The subwoofer is somewhere between a bathroom garbage can and a mini fridge. The soundbar is probably 5ft long. I say all this to say: double check your space because with big power becomes big responsibility. Setup was much easier than expected. I ran this through HDMI instead of ARC. ARC works but HDMI has better quality and my TV supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, alongside this speaker, which was a huge selling point. The only real setup headaches came with moving my shelving, the limited power space, etc, nothing soundbar specific and everything went as expected. As for use, this came with a remote but I easily hooked this directly to my TV remote and we were off to the races. You can obviously adjust the settings but I’ve kept it standard and mostly noticed the sheer power above all else. Where I formerly was turning the volume up to 18, now I’m doing 10. Where I’m trying to be quiet while the Mrs. is sleeping, a level 2 comes in crystal clear. The bass booms. Dialogue has no issues. I really can’t say enough good things about how dynamic this is. Now the fun part… the detachable side speakers. Wow are these cool and so dang easy to use. The simply slide up and off the sides of the main soundbar. For the most part, I leave them on as our loft is poorly designed for placing the detachable speakers, but if we’re going to sit down for the night and watch a movie, I’m removing them 100% of the time and laying them around us. Everything sounds so much better and it’s just the cheaters guide to surround sound. When you’re done, they slide right back in, no buttons to press to reactivate or anything, just instant “go”. The side speakers las for about 9 hours on their own and can power on/off on their own and will charge when attached to the soundbar. Note that the side speakers only work on high quality audio. If I’m casting a crappy stream from my phone to the TV for example, it won’t work but anything that’s basic-high level audio, you’ll be just fine. My ONLY gripe, is that since installing the soundbar, my TV seems to recognize my Xbox less. No idea why, but it stopped the instant this got installed. A power pull? Something with the Dolby sound? I’m unsure but I’ve found a work around which is to wiggle the controller when powering on the Xbox and all issues are resolved. Seeing as I can’t pinpoint the issue, I won’t dock them on the 1% chance it’s something else, but alas. If you’re looking for a powerful soundbar that hits every metric you’re looking for in ease of setup, ease of use, strong bass, clear sound, and the ability to instantly add surround sound, this is a no-brainer.

JBL Bar 1300MK2 Home Theater Powerhouse
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, that subwoofer. Wow. When the delivery guy dropped off the box, I thought they sent me a whole separate speaker system by mistake. This thing is massive, way bigger than I pictured from the online photos. My wife definitely raised an eyebrow when I brought it in. It takes up a serious chunk of real estate next to the TV console, no joke. But holy cow, the sound it puts out. You know, sometimes you compromise on space for quality, and this is one of those times I'm absolutely okay with it. The bass from that 12-inch beast is just incredible. You don't just hear it, you feel it rattling your chest during action scenes. Watching a big blockbuster now is a totally different experience. It's not just loud, it's deep and rich, the kind of bass that really makes explosions pop and music feel full, filling the whole room. And the setup? Honestly, I was dreading it. Usually, hooking up new tech involves endless menus, firmware updates, and me muttering under my breath. But with the JBL 1300MK2, it was surprisingly simple. I plugged in the main bar to the TV's eARC port, turned it on, and everything just… connected. The wireless surrounds paired instantly, the subwoofer hooked up without a fuss. I spent more time trying to figure out where to put the giant subwoofer than I did actually setting up the system. That's a huge win for a dad who just wants to relax after work and get straight to movie night. The detachable surround speakers are genius, too. You just pop them off the ends of the main bar, place them behind you, and suddenly you're in the middle of the action with true 11.1.4 surround sound. No wires trailing across the floor, which keeps the living room looking neat and stops the kids from tripping over anything. We even used them as standalone Bluetooth speakers for a backyard BBQ last weekend, which was a neat bonus I didn't even think about when buying it. They have their own batteries, so they're totally portable. My son thought it was the coolest thing ever when I brought one out to listen to music while washing the car. The overall sound quality for movies, music, and even regular TV shows is phenomenal. With the up-firing drivers, you truly get 3D immersive sound. Dolby Atmos movies are incredible, with effects flying over your head, making you feel like you're in a proper movie theater. This system completely transforms your home entertainment experience. Beyond the immersive sound, I really appreciate PureVoice 2.0 for crystal-clear dialogue and all the streaming connectivity, making music super easy. Sure, the main bar is wide, and the huge subwoofer takes up space. And dedicated gamers might note the limited 4K/60Hz passthrough. But honestly, these are minor points for the truly incredible sound. This JBL Bar 1300MK2 delivers a genuine cinematic experience without all the wired setup hassle. If you have the room for that big sub, it's absolutely worth it. My family and I are loving movie nights even more now, and I can't recommend it enough.

Amazing Sound in a Well Designed Sound System
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an audiophile, I am always looking for the best of the best when it comes to anything sound related. Headphones, sound systems, home theater, car stereos.... you name it. So I was quite excited to try out the new JBL Bar 1300MK2 because of its unique design and feature set with the rear speakers. The design of the sound system is quite nice. The soundbar is well constructed, no fabric that you can easily tear, nice heavy metal feeling. The subwoofer is massive! It honestly can double as a side table if you really wanted too, that is how big this thing is. It packs quite the punch too when you crank it to level 5 and watch some Dolby Atmos content, it is guaranteed to shake the room and your couch. You will feel it in your bones.... The rear speakers are my favorite thing about this whole system. Normally in soundbar systems, rear speakers are just always a pain to use, they are huge, bulky, have sync issues, or have to be wired. JBL has done something incredibly unique here with these rear speakers in making them magnetically detachable from the main soundbar so you can place them wherever you want in the room, or simply put them back on the soundbar for a wide sound channel and it will charge the rears at the same time. The rears get about 12 hours in my testing of life before they die. They are USB C charging compatible which is awesome, so if you want to hard wire these, it shouldn't be a problem to get a type-C cable to them. Not only do they act as your rear surrounds, they also can be standalone Bluetooth speakers, you could also put them in broadcast mode and bring it into say the bedroom and hear the audio going on in the living room. So many features just built-in to the rears making them super versatile. The only thing I wish is the rears had a little more power, they seem a little weak when in rear surround mode even when cranked to max level, but that is just a minor thing to note. The overall sound quality is incredible. The app lets you EQ to your specific taste which is a very nice and useful feature considering each room has different acoustic characteristics. You can also change the sound modes, enable dialogue enhancement which I think works very nice, it does not make the dialogue harsh like other systems do, it is very nuanced. I also like how the soundbar displays the current content mode being output, so if you are listening to just PCM stereo, it will say PCM, but if you start Atmos content, it will flash Atmos to let you know. Overall this is a fantastic all in one system that is sure to work for any room type. If you want great quality both in build and sound, and features that are incredibly unique and useful, then you should pick up the 1300 MK2.

An Almost Perfect Soundbar System
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who liked but didn' t love the JBL BAR 1300 MK1, the MK2 really had to blow me away. I am happy to report that the MK2 is so far and away superior to the MK1 that I think it comes way closer to justifying its MSRP. First and foremost, the MK2 delivers on sound quality. It’s deep, rich, complex, and significantly louder. I noticed that my median volume level on the MK1 was 22 while on the MK2 it’s 14 which I so appreciate. I think part of why I went to 22 was that not only was it quiet but also that the audio didn’t really bloom (for lack of a better word) until I got to these higher volumes and even then MK2 beats it in every way. The subwoofer has an even stronger resonance now, but more articulated and nuanced. The wireless detachable rear-speakers (a now must for me) sound so much better and really heighten the Atmos quality, even when Atmos isn’t available. All connection types are supported here! Airplay, Google Cast, Bluetooth (even the rear speakers can become standalone bluetooth speakers). This soundbar is just so open and freeing that I will have music cast to the soundbar, then go to cook dinner, grab one of the rear speakers and bring it to the kitchen so that I can keep listening. Or when we have house parties, I’ll place 1 rear speaker in the backyard, 1 in the kitchen, and the soundbar is still playing in the living room. Compare this to other systems that require an app, only support one wireless protocol or another. Here there are no compromises. I do have a good amount of cons, that if the starting price was lower, I likely wouldn’t even bother bringing up. However, this is priced as a higher-end soundbar system so it does have to be treated as such. Obviously, price is the biggest detractor here. As I’m writing this review it’s a couple hundred off which I feel is still likely too high. A solid black friday deal would easily make this a must-buy. These last two cons are much more nitpicky. First being that setting it up to connect to the wifi through the JBL One app (which I find overall pretty useless) required me to do 3 hard resets on the soundbar before it finally worked because the app or the bar kept timing out. On that 4th try though it worked no problem. And second, I wanted to try some of the AI features like Smart Mode, which automatically detects what’s playing and adjusts sound mode accordingly, and PureVoice. I noticed that the richness of the audio quality significantly diminished to the point my partner, who is not an audiophile, asked me why the soundbar sounds so bad. I turned off those features and the sound was back to amazing. Very weird! Overall I think if you have the money (or it’s on sale) and you want to be able to have the flexibility of those rear speakers, I think this is a solid choice. It’s not a definitive must-buy, but I definitely recommend it. Pros: MK2 is a MASSIVE improvement in audio quality Subwoofer has stronger resonance but more nuanced bass Wireless rear speakers are fantastic Supports all wireless connection types for easy casting from mobile devices Flexibility to mount wireless speakers or return them to charging soundbar dock Cons: Price still feels a tad high for performance, sale could definitely get it to the right price point Wifi connection required 3 hard resets before it finally connected AI features made everything sound worse, but those the user has to manually turn on

Powerful, heavy hitting soundbar!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fantastic soundbar. Took a few minutes to mount and set up (however I STRONGLY recommend getting more durable, stronger mounting screws because the dinky ones that came with it couldn't support its weight and pulled right out!!!!). The app found the soundbar quickly and calibration was a breeze. I am using this as a bedroom soundbar and it works AMAZING. The surrounds fit on shelves behind the bed, and the subwoofer fits perfectly under a bedside table, so everything stays out of the way despite the huge size of the system. That huge size pays off in dividends! First week I had it, my wife and I watched a James Bond marathon and this had the house rocking! ATMOS placed sound perfectly around the room and it was a totally immersive experience. Just as excellent were DTSX experiences with Jurassic Park. This is a truly magnificent soundbar, easily on par with other similar systems that make you buy surrounds and subwoofers separately. After the movies, it's as easy as clicking the surrounds into place to charge on either end of the soundbar and it's kept very simple and clean. Easily the most I've ever been impressed by a soundbar in 20+ years of being a home audio enthusiast.

Impressive sound in a minimalist package
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the privilege of using the JBL Bar 1300MK2 sound system for a few weeks now and it has been a fantastic addition to my home theater setup. Initially I was very suspect, as for the past 25 years I've had a traditional receiver and wired speaker setup that I've been pretty happy with. I was always in the camp of "soundbars are just toys and can't rival the sound quality I get from my receiver." Given that we just upgraded our TV, it only seemed befitting to look at an upgrade to the sound system as well. The JBL BAR 1300MK2 is an impressive bit of kit. When it showed up on my doorstep the box was absolutely huge - and I was hoping I didn't bite off more than I could chew with this. However, there's a lot of packing to keep the components safe. Included in the box was the soundbar itself, the subwoofer, power cables, and a remote control. Setup was straightforward - place the components, power everything up, connect the HDMI ARC, and follow the JBL One app's guided setup for Wi-Fi, updates, and calibration. As with most things these days, the app walks you through setup - connecting your device to your WiFi, downloading the latest software for the device, and working through surround speaker pairing and calibration to your room. Calibration is largely automatic, a series of frequency sweeps plays and the system measures the optimal delays for surround sound positioning. One huge pro for the app is the fact that you are not required to sign up for yet another account at another IoT vendor to use the soundbar via the app. The amount of joy this brought to me is probably a bit too much - as we all have countless logins for all of our smart home devices, among other things. Once the initial setup is done, it's time to experience the sound. Connecting the soundbar to the ARC on my TV enables single remote control of the soundbar, so input is automatically selected and the volume control on the TV (or in our case, the Apple TV remote) controls the volume on the soundbar. It's hard to accurately describe the sound that comes out of the soundbar, other than it's exceptional - mid and high frequencies are clear and crisp, and the bass provided by the subwoofer will literally rattle your inner core if you turn it up. I find that leaving the subwoofer on one or two provides an adequate accompaniment to movie watching without being too overpowering, but again this is a personal preference. The soundbar also has a number of cool features that make this more than just your average soundbar. The first is that the rear speakers are actually detachable from the soundbar itself and connect wirelessly to the sound bar. If you don't have space or desire to put speakers behind the viewing position, you can leave the speakers attached to the soundbar and it will do it's best to "virtualize" the surround sound. Obviously, putting the speakers behind the viewer is a preferred option for authentic surround sound. The surround speakers are also capable of being islands unto themselves - that is you can pick it up, take it with you, and have a decent quality Bluetooth speaker you can use wherever your travels take you. Simply return the speaker back to the surround position and hit the button on the back and it immediately pairs back to the soundbar. The soundbar app also has a fully adjustable 7 band graphic equalizer that you can use to tune the sound to your liking. Other features in the app include native connection to a few different music services - including setting the bar up as a Spotify destination. The soundbar also has a number of other Wi-Fi streaming options including Apple Airplay and Google Cast. The app also lets you play white-noise like sounds like ocean, rain, and city. One of the best features is the "night mode" - which allows you to effectively silence the sound system except for one of the surround speakers so you can watch a movie at night without disturbing the rest of the household. Lastly, the app fully allows you to emulate the physical remote control, so lost remotes are not as big of a show stopper as they would be otherwise. A couple of quirks are with the rear surround speakers - the way they are physically designed seemed to me to be counterintuitive to how I would naturally place them - with the "blank" side of the speaker facing outward, rather than the finished side. The biggest drawback is the detachable rear speakers. While convenient, they require regular charging. Overall, I thought that soundbars would never be an acceptable replacement for a traditional receiver and wired speaker setup, but this JBL BAR1300MK2 setup has made a believer out of me. Once we do some minor updating of the family room, I can mount this to the wall, and remove a huge batch of wires and other kit that comprise the traditional receiver, have a much cleaner setup, and still have great quality sound with modern touches like Airplay. If you’re coming from a traditional receiver setup and want something cleaner without sacrificing much in sound quality, this soundbar delivers.

JBL made a soundbar for everyday and versatile use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.JBL - BAR1300MK2 11.1.4 soundbar with detachable surround-sound speakers is an amazing upgrade to any home theater setup. You can use it with any TV that has an HDMI port. With Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, you are immersed in any movie you watch. The great-sounding wireless subwoofer cranks out 2470W on an 8" dual driver woofer. It delivers deep bass. This baby can be placed almost anywhere in the room. If you're like me, you'll want the bass to come from behind you. That's when you feel all the action from the movie. The acoustics are nice. Live music sounds like you're in the front row. This one is packed with seven 1-inch tweeters and twelve drivers. These speakers work well with Pure Voice 2.0. You can hear all spoken content clearly. The soundbar also has two wireless, removable surround speakers. They make your theater experience almost limitless. This is achieved with multi-beam 3.0. The surround speakers are charged by the soundbar. I think this is very cool. In broadcasting mode, you can place one surround speaker in another room. You still hear all the action from the TV. The surround speakers also double as wireless Bluetooth speakers. That's versatility in my opinion. There is a listening function for late nights. You can place one detachable speaker right in front of you and turn on the feature in the downloadable JBL ONE APP. The soundbar and subwoofer are automatically muted. You can still enjoy the content. This is a major upgrade to my family's home theater experience. With a simple setup, everything you need is in the box. This includes AC power cords, a remote control, and mounting hardware. You will be on your way to watching movies the way they were intended.

Monster of a soundbar system
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This system packs a punch, with a big subwoofer and a total of 27 speakers with 1500w of power in the soundbar it provides a high quality experience even in larger spaces. This many speakers provide as good of a Dolby Atmos output as any soundbar I've ever heard, results may vary depending on room shape and ceiling height. The entire sound range was clear and precise, I would call it a clean sound out of the box, there is also an customizable equalizer in the app. This is also where you can enable or disable all the "Smart" audio enhancements and Set-up was straight forward, everything you need to connect it to your television is in the box along with the brackets for wall mounting. A unique feature of the JBL BAR is the removable battery powered surround sound speakers. These can be removed from the main soundbar and placed in the room behind you for an even better Atmos experience. The removable speakers re-charge when attached to the main soundbar again or can be powered by USB-C if you choose to do a more permanent surround set-up. JBL works with Google home which allows you to group multiple speakers together to play music throughout your house, It also works with Google cast, Spotify connect, tidal connect, amazon music, its airplay compatible and more. Everything has been working flawlessly and it puts out fantastic sound, if you need a soundbar that can fill a big space be sure to check this system out.

Big Soundbar with Big Sound!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wish I had a picture of my face when I saw the gigantic package being delivered. I didn't expect this soundbar to be as big as it was. With its size you get some monster sound. I do mean Monster sound because this soundbar is a Beast. The Soundbar was simple to set up. You unbox it and get all the components. They did give you everything needed for a pleasant audio experience. Inside the box is the soundbar, 2 detachable wireless speakers, subwoofer, brackets, remote, etc. You can do additional fine-tuning inside the JBL One app. You follow the simple steps to set up. It's pretty straightforward. The soundbar will turn your home into a movie theater. This thing can get loud. It has good bass with the subwoofer. This is great for a home theater or someone who watches a lot of movies. With the additional wireless speakers. You can dynamically set up a surround sound theater in your home. You do get three HDMI ports allowing multi-function and capability for gaming. It also has some features for streaming as well. What I enjoyed most about the Soundbar was the additional speakers that allow Bluetooth connection. The Soundbar itself along with the subwoofer is usually fine. With the additional speakers, you can use them for better clarity. You can also connect them to other devices with Bluetooth. Overall, the system is meant for Large TVs. This is not something you want to put on a desk for an at home work setup. Not saying you can't but with the size, a larger style TV works best. Great Audio for any home theater.

Home Theater Boom Stick
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a fan of JBL speakers since I was introduced to them in college when I started running a local karaoke show for a bar across from the campus. I've expanded my JBL lineup in recent years with the JBL Authentics 500 and have been blown away. So when my sound bar in my family room started to interimitetnly drop the HDCP connection between my AppleTV 4K and my LG OLED, I decided to pick this set up and it has blown me away again! In the box, you get the soundbar, which is overall longer than my previous one if you have both the removable speakers attached. You also get the 2 removable speakers, the giant subwoofer, as well mounting hardware if you want to wall mount your sound bar. That last piece seems a bit odd to call out, but as someone who's wall mounted several sound bars, it was great to see a premium, all-in-one solution. It eliminates the need to find a 3rd party mount, or pay extra for a first party one. I had this thing out of the box, wired up, and fired up in less than 10 minutes and it should go without saying that this thing is LOUD. If we're watching casual TV, we typically keep the volume set around 10 which is perfectly loud enough. The subwoofer was to me, comically bigger compared the woofer for the sound bar I was replacing. I joked with my wife that it looks like a big black end table that should be next to a chair. Luckily, I was able to set it up out of the way, so that the room still enjoys the rich, full booming bass. The removable speakers were an incredible cool part of this set up. You can leave them docked with the main sound bar to charge, and use regular, or you can detach them, and use them as rear surrounds. This is awesome for those movie nights were you want the immersive feel, with the freedom to move speakers around, and not have to figure out how to mount them or run power to them. In our current family room, that would've been a challenge, so I love this idea! You can also use the detachable surrounds as bluetooth speakers, so you can pair your phone and you have an instant portable bluetooth speaker. I haven't played with that feature as much for now, mostly because I have a cheaper, portable bluetooth speaker that I use in our backyard and don't really mind if something were to happen to it. For me, the detachable surround speakers are way more useful as surrounds versus portable bluetooth speakers. The whole setup can be managed in the JBL One app on your mobile phone. Once I had everything set up, the app prompted some area sound test set up. The beeps drove my dog nuts, but after a few minutes, the bar was up, connected to WiFi, and ready to rock and roll... literally. I love this setup and would heartily recommend it to anyone who wants a premium home theater audio setup that can be easily adapted to any room space without the need of speaker mounts or running wires, wants something that just works out of the box, and delivers rich, booming sound.

Great concept and product
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've tried several different soundbar over the years and so far this is the best one I've tried. I started with the traditional soundbar then moved to a Dolby Atmos capable soundbar with a sub, then to a Dolby Atmos with sub and surround/rear speakers. The main reasons I like this one the best is for one, the detachable truly wireless rear speakers are perfect for my setup. Before, with the rear speakers being "wireless" they still had to plug into a power outlet, so not they're not truly wireless. This meant I had cords running down my wall. I also had to put them behind my sofa which is against a wall with windows so they sat in the window sill. Wife not real happy... And honestly you don't always need rear speakers for everything you watch. So being able to pull these off the soundbar (which is really easy to do) and set them behind me when I want to watch something in full surround sound is perfect. And the battery will last for hours and hours. Secondly, the sound coming out of this system is really great. The sub is large and hits hard (my wife complains when upstairs and there's explosions or something going on in the movie I'm watching. And that's not even with it turned up. This system gets very loud. I wasn't able to turn it up all the way as it was too loud. And the biggest thing this excels at is the Dolby Atmos surround experience. For the size of it and what it is, it's more than adequate for a family room type movie watching experience. It's not going to replace a full dedicated multi-speaker surround setup but it will impress. One of the best examples I've listened to so far of Dolby Atmos is The Entity scenes in Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning (really good movie by the way). Without giving anything away, it's basically To.m Cruises character in a type of VR environment where an AI is talking. Listening my dedicated home theater system it makes you feel like the voice is all around you. So when I listened to the scene on this system I was actually really impressed that it gave me a very similar experience. I've watched a few movies on it now and cars and planes flying by, or bullets whizzing by, etc. are pretty encompassing as far as the sound field it creates. I also turned on the "PureVoice" setting which actually does make speech easier to hear without making others things sound bad. Again, for a living room/family room, or even game room type setup this system is definitely going to give you a a good surround sound experience with Dolby Atmos actually being realistic, when a lot of systems that are compatible rarely give you a feeling of being encompassed in the sound. I would definitely recommend this system for anyone looking for a similar setup. I guess I should also mention there's several other things you can do with the detachable speakers, such as using them as Bluetooth speakers in another room, listening to whatever is playing on the main system in another room (not sure why you would want to do this but you can), or even having the sound play only out of them and not the main soundbar, such as if you're watching something at night and don't want to disturb others you can set them up close to you and be able to hear what you're watching without having to turn the volume up too loud.

Movies are great but the music is lacking
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been spending time with the JBL atmos soundbar. I wanna preface this review with I am going to pretty critical as I have a full 5.1 speaker system in my main living room with a dedicated receiver and all. That being said I will say that straight out of the box this thing is solid. Taking it out of the box was a task as it is heavier than your normal soundbar. And the sub is pretty massive. So if you have limited space the sub may be an issue as it’s almost the size of an end table. The soundbar comes with two rear rechargeable speakers that connect to the soundbar depending on how it is set up. They are very versatile as the can add to the soundbar under the tv, or they can go behind you for surround sound, and they can be used as separate satellite speakers when having a party and can have everyone hear the music. Speaking of music how’s the sound. Once everything is set up in its place you can run a calibration so help tone out the room and get the atmos correct. Once done you are ready to rock. No pun intended. From first glance I will say the music feels lacking it needs more mid range. You get the highs and the bass but missing that punch so the music falls alittle flat. When swapped to movies and TV it gets a lot better the atmos kicks on and you get immersed in the movie. It handles speech very well and the atmosphere gets captured. Movies is definitely where this soundbar shines it provides great surround sound but again still suffers from missing a little mid range. But overall good sound. This won’t be an upgrade for a dedicated speaker 5.1 wired surround system for most but it comes very close. It could be that your surround just ain’t cutting it and this could help you. If you are looking for a great sound system without having to have cables running everywhere this is your soundbar.

Premium sound and bass with wireless surrounds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unboxing was very easy. There was a QR code on the inside of the packaging guiding me to the quick start guide. After unpacking everything the setup steps were pretty easy. There is a main soundbar, sub and accessories for mounting on a wall if needed. Also included is a basic remote. Use: The Quick start guide was easy to follow buy connecting the power and sliding the satellite speakers on the main bar. I chose the HDMI earc connection. Both power cables were the same, which was nice since I was not confused which to use for the sub vs bar. After installed and on. I did install the JBL One app. Once it was connected there was a firmware update which was pretty easy. This app has useful stull like adjustable equalizer and a smart mode for the satellite speakers or you can customize their behavior if you like. I did like when watching Batman Vs Superman that the sound was detailed and the performance did make me feel like a pretty full surround sound effect. However, the satellite speakers are pretty soft and the up firing Atmos just do not have enough punch to fill my 16 x 22 room. In order to make the sound fill the room I needed to really turn up the volume which made it feel immersive but not everyone in my family likes the sound as loud. Now the bass from the sub was very good and any voice dialogue was very clear. I played a few games like Forza and Fortnite and when the volume was above 15 the sound felt loud and immersive. I did play some rap and punk audio, and the sound was very good and adaptive to both styles of music. Pros: The sound is very good for a soundbar All the accessories needed are included The Sub is a good size and power for the money Wall mount included Cons: The app did not always connect to the soundbar so I would have to reboot it. The satellite speakers can sound low for surround sound effects when the volume is lower. The satellite speakers did not come with Usb-C Cables to allow powering them on a more permanent basis requiring reconnecting for charging every few days. Pricy for an all in one soundbar. Summary: I think this is one of the best soundbars for a 65” or larger TV where you want a quality surround sound experience without the need for an individual component system. Still my component-based system sounds more complete. These soundbars are getting really close and I would say it should please 95% of users looking for that great sound without the full investment with a receiver and speakers.

Sounds good to me
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This soundbar system is phenomenal, and blows what used to be my awesome old sound bar out of the water, period. It's replacing a Harmon Kardon 7.4.1, that for many years I thought was king. It comes in a very large and well packed box that was hard for me to maneuver, I'm guessing it weighs in at about 60-70 pounds. Most of that is from the ginormous subwoofer. In the box are the remote, satellite speakers, the soundbar (which is also weighted) instructions, mounting brackets and the aforementioned sub. Physical setup took maybe all of 5 minutes, I initially connected the satellites to the soundbar for charging. The sub is about 15% larger than my old one which was pretty big so be prepared to give up some real estate. After downloading the app, I did the two recommended calibrations and set the satellites about 6 feet behind me. The sound was booming, to the point of being overwhelming with the volume just being on 8. The sub rattled my windows with the deep bass and the rears were as loud as the soundbar. So I did some tweaking on the remote by toning down the atmos sound and tuning the rear to low. After that it still wasn't ‘just right’, but the app has an equalizer which gave me the ability to fine tune to an almost perfect sound. The app also will show the charge level on the rear speakers when they're not charging either on the bar or with usb-c cables, not included. My old system didn't have an equalizer, I could never get the voices to sound loud and clear especially when it was musical. Needless to say this entire setup is a game changer. Star Trek and Marvel movies sound great. The system is esthetically pleasing, with both the soundbar and satellites having a very low profile, at aprx 3” high. My entertainment center is 55” long. When the satellites are added it overhangs like a six foot man in a five foot bed. I won't pretend to be an audiophile, and tell you about the minute differences between the settings and sounds Dolby Atmos creates or how I adjusted the sound, it was a trial and error thing. Suffice to say if I can do it you can too, LOL. My TV has Q-Symphony and if you know what that is and are wondering, no the JBL - BAR1300MK2 11.1.4 isn't compatible, yet without ever having had that compatibility I don't feel that I'm really missing a thing. The price point is high, but as the saying goes; you get what you pay for and I believe this beast to be worth every penny!
