I do believe it is overpriced at full retail. That being said the bass performance is deep and pronounced in the best kind of way. Very full. Not an easy thing to do when outdoors. The sonic signature definitely lends itself to modern electronic pop, dance and hip hop. Jazz also sound terrific, too. Set this speaker close to a wall and it will make your party come alive. This speaker is awesome for pool parties! Is it audiophile sound? No. But does it make you and those who hear it smile from ear to ear with amazement. Yep! Add in the fact that it's water proof, rugged and plays loudly for a full day or more and you have the perfect pool / party speaker. I have ordered a second one and cannot wait to hear a stereo pair! I have no regrets buying this speaker. If you can swing it, buy one.

As I still have both speakers I am able to A/B both of these great bluetooth speakers. The Boombox is hands down one of the very best Boomboxes I have ever heard. It's tough, waterproof & the sound is outstanding.
I would recommend this to a friend Way too expensive for the sound quality.

Worked perfect for 5 month then it died.

It would not turn on or indcate charing. I babied this thing, being a 500 dollar portable speaker, it should of lasted for more than a few months. I sent it in under warrarty. Lets see if they make it right.

I have owned quite a few bluetooth speakers almost all of them made up untill i bought this one, which has left no desire to search for another one. It is all I've needed. I actually bought another one and paired it. Fantastic sound , sooo good. A huge plus is i can insert a pre loaded usb drive and no long need to rely on my phone for music

Overpriced and crappy quality, will NOT last

Don't expect to get more than 2 years out of this. This was used on a desk. Never near water, never bounced around, and now it is a useless paperweight.

I own the Aiwa Ewos 9 the Harmon Kardon Onyx 4..The Marshall Kilburn ..Bose..and UE boom Bluetooth speakers..the JBL Boombox is the best. Hands down. The bass hits hard..the treble and kids compliment the bass beautifully! It is so loud! And super nice looking! The best thing is this box is on sale now..100 bucks off..350..it is worth every penny..there is nothing that comes close to this with build quality..it"s weatherproof..and it will BLOW YOU AWAY! Customer service at Best Buy at Crabtree is excellent! 5 stars isn't enough for this beast!
