I place it net line and turn it up about 3/4 of its volume and both people playing tennis can hear the music and still talk over it. We play most alternative rock. If you go much past 3/4 volume, it does start to sound a little distorted, but I do not think you would experience that with a softer type of music, such as classical. Overall, a great speaker and very portable, and not too heavy in your carry-bag.

I have had many bluetooth speakers and the JBLs never disappoint. I only took a star off for price, as they are somewhat high compared to others.

With pulsating speakers on each end and attractive colors, this is a nice purchase for the beach or lake. Stands up to sand and a little water too
