About two months after I purchased this product, one of the two drivers on the inside started to rattle like crazy. The sound quality went from amazing to horrible just like that.

I know a big part of this is me but I can not figure out how to use the speaker. The instructions are so small that I can not even read them with a magnifying glass. I would like some help in figuring that out.

I was looking forward to this after extensive research. The instructions on setup are almost non-existant. Not a problem. I went to the company website. Got the same non-instructions there. OUCH. I downloaded the APP from Apple store. I used the app to try to connect. After connecting, I found I was connected to the charge 2, not the 3. Guess that is why it did not get set up. I could not connect to the phone or ipad or to the amazon dot. I ended up bring the speaker back. If you buy a JBL product be ready for non-instructive instructions.

This was an ok Bluetooth speaker. but has some audio distortion at max volume. I don't know if minds was defective. But i returned it. Also I couldn't get the alarm to work on it.

This review is coming from someone who bought a Charge 4 and was actually disappointed with it. JBL is really pushing this whole race track, oval speaker thing. Well there's two issues with this. One the driver is off center which creates an interesting issue in that it gives the impression the speaker isn't working right. Two the sound stage is now compressed into one driver, the Charge 3 by comparison has a more open sound stage and honestly a better overall sound signature. Even though the stereo effect is hardly noticeable the stereo effect of having two drivers playing left and right fills your listening area with a more natural and open atmosphere that makes for a more enjoyable experience. The Charge 3 also has a speaker phone which is big plus, the Charge 4 does not. Instead the Charge 4 just stops playing music when a call comes in. Lastly the Charge 3 comes with a charging adapter which the Charge 4 does not.....really JBL? So overall the Charge 3 is a great speaker, the Charge 4 is a nice attempt at being different, but it fails. If the Charge 4 had say two smaller oval speakers playing in stereo then sure that would be fine. But mono isn't cool especially the way it's been implemented with the Charge 4, the off center driver was a poor design choice. So again buy the Charge 3 while you can. Somtimes having the newest device isn't the right way to go.

Great speaker while it lasted but I never played it over half volume and a speaker still blew out within a year.

These were amazing when I first purchase them then suddenly a weird static sound started to develop after a few weeks of use. I returned them with no issue.

Piece of crap make sure you buy protection because it’s not about if it’s gonna mess up it will and probably right after warranty expires shuts off randomly

the speakers are great alone but do not pair well. the range is weak, the break up, you also can't control their volume individually. i returned them and bought UE's.

It was great then it stopped charging , and now it’s just collecting dust since it’s out of warranty

I should have read the reviews before buying. It may be a decent speaker for younger people, but didn't match what I was looking for

This a good product for under 90 bucks. Good bass and quick bluetooth connectivity. Sturdy build and waterproof. Over 20 hours of battery life easily if you do not listen at peak volume. The JBL app is of now use unless you want to connect multiple Charge 3 speakers.

The sound from this is very muddy. It's solid and loud but the sound quality is poor, IMHO.

A great portable speaker which has great sound. I would recommend it.

So we previously have had the JBL Charge 2 and the Bose mini sound link 2. The Bose had great sound but the battery life was not so great, it was not water proof so that was a downer. The Charge 2 sound was good but not great, the base at the bottom was not sturdy enough to hold it on a slight angle (found this out the hard way when at our new place we didn't know the deck wasn't level). The battery on the Charge 2 was good in comparison to the Bose. Then we got this one the sound quality is amazing you can hear it clearer and further away than both the other mentions, and so far the battery is great too. No I am not saying that the Bose had bad sound but at louder volumes got distorted, rhe Charge 3 does not. Have not tested the water resistance I will take their word on it. In closing for the price compared to the others I would stick with this any day!

This speaker sounds great. You can feel the bass coming from this speaker. Its great to have around the pool or on the beach, since its water resistant. Easy to carry. I even got a little sand on it and I just simply washed it right off in the sink. I would highly recommend for the sound quality. Its easy to use, bluetooth connection was easily done.

Absolutely love it. It’s small enough to throw in my backpack.

Was working well with my tv when I first purchased it. Now only works with my phone.

I'm blown away from the sound of this speaker. I bought it with the Black Friday discount, but I would spend full price on this bad boy. I own a Samsung Sound-bar w/ subwoofer and the sound is almost, if not, equivalent. Very Impressed! The bass on this JBL speaker is phenomenal!!! 100% recommend. --- I also have my iPhone volume ONLY on half volume and the speaker fills up the room. I can hear it down my apartment building hall it's that powerful. GO BUY IT ALREADY.

Literally one of the best purchases I've ever made. First of all, I'm pretty sure this thing is indestructible... I've had it be kicked into the pool, I've accidentally dropped in on concrete (multiple times... whoops), and you'd never be able to tell. Great sound quality and volume. Such a cool feature to be able to connect with another JBL speaker for the surround-sound effect - worked like a charm for a party in a big house. My friends always ask me to bring it with me or if they can borrow it because it's that awesome. The battery lasts forever and love that I can charge my phone through the speaker while it's playing music. I have zero complaints about this speaker and plan on buying another one in the future.
