I am not sure that it is a value purchase because I have not tried some of the less expensive models but I have not been disappointed in the JBL Charge 4. I started with a Flip 5 that lasted for years of being used around the house and going outside for outdoor work sessions. This one sounds so much better. The size is not as convenient. If you are looking for something to throw in a bag got for the Flip. If you are willing to sacrifice some convenience for the sound then it is worth it.

This little speaker gives great big sound. It doesn’t lose its punch at low volumes, and doesn’t distort when you turn it up.
