I got it because its supposed to last 20 hours. I was working 10 hour days so I thought it would work great. The first day the charge didn't last. Figured it was because it was just out the box. Gave it a few more days. It won't even last 5 hours on a single charge so I can't even use it to charge my phone if I wanted to. Very limited support through the application for the JBL speakers.

No microphone on this speaker! Deal breaker for me

I was disappointed that I couldn't party link it with my JBL xtreme 1. Apparently it won't work with the older models which is a shame since they both have the functionality built into them. The deal breaker for me was that the charge 4, unlike pretty much every other speaker from the flip to the xtreme, has no microphone! I like to use my speaker to take / make calls while I'm busy doing other things like cooking or cleaning, but I can't do that with this one and that's a pretty big oversite. I'm going to go buy a flip 5 instead even though it doesn't sound even close to as good.

Stopped charging after 2 months

Went back to store to return and was told I only had 14 days. Well during those 14 days it was actually working and really didnt need to charge it as it does have 20 hours of use. Now they are making me through jbl which is obviously a mission. If this was the case I would have just bought direct from them. There was a time when companies would have exchanged the item and then dealt with the vendor themselves.

Tried factory resetting it, but the speaker just kept looping on and then off, and then on again... for three days straight! Finally gave up, ands put it in the trash. Complete waste of money, and I will never buy anything JBL again.

Disappointing speaker

As for battery life, it lasted pretty long after the first charge, after charging it the 2nd time for over 5 hours(it takes a long time to get a full charge) it only lasted 30 minutes. It’s too late to return because you only have 15 days to return merchandise. My suggestion is find a better speaker than this one.

It was super loud in the store. But when I got it home I knew I needed way more volume. It was quite pricey.

Great speaker but lacks a 3.5mm Jack

Not loud enough for my needs

Posted .Thanks for posting a review. Our Charge 4 has a much larger, and more powerful dynamic single driver than the older models. Playtime also varies as to what genre and volume level your source is. If the volume is in maximum all the time, you will probably get less than 20 hours of playing since it will consume more power.
