I just picked one of these up for $100 and it’s awesome! Looks great, it’s not too big, and the sound is excellent! A little too big to take everywhere, but it’s nice around the house. The usb charging feature is great for outdoor use.

Speaker is really easy to use and has an amazing sound plus bass, would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for amazing sound!!!!!

First let me start by saying I have a Flip 4 and 2 Extreme 2's along with this Charge 4. I use them all the time, I love the way they pair together either in party mode, which is mono, or in the stereo mode. I use all 4 everyday at the outside patio of my local pub, taking requests and using amazon music unlimited. Everyone loves the sound and I have purchased hard shell cases on Ebay for each one, only about 16$ each to protect them they still look new and work flawlessly. I use nothing but JBL sound equipment with my band and have for years and these are just little giant killers.

The JBL Charge 4 sounds excellent, I have gotten it wet with no problems

Very good sound and surprisingly good bass for its size. I do like the adaptation of usb-c connectors - those trapezoid shaped micros are well passed their time (always tricky to connect). The main reason for just 4 stars is the mono sound output. I’d have to buy another to pair them into stereo mode $$$$. Although it appears based on speakers being marketed today that there is a departure from the desire for stereo sound? Maybe a way to get people who want stereo imaging to spend more $$$$. Hmmmmm... oh one more like is the blue color!

Sound quality is great and super easy to set up. Really loud.

JBL makes great products and was very impressed with this speaker. I have had mine for almost 3 years and works like its new. Although it doesn't work that well when floating in water but dries fast and the sound comes back. The sound is great with this speaker and doesn't cut out or get muffled. I would recommend this product to anyone.

This review is coming from someone who owns the Charge 3. The upgrade to the Charge 4 isn't a smart move. The single off center driver ruins the sound stage that the Charge 3 accomplished so well. If the driver on the Charge 4 was centered I might not have an issue with it. But being set to the right gives the impression there's an issue with the speaker. Also the mono driver setup doesn't give you the same open sound stage that the Charge 3 gave you. Compressing the left and right channels into one channel makes for a narrow feeling when listening to music, its not a good thing in this case. It works well with the Pulse 3 since it has 3 drivers playing in mono, in a 360 degree setup, but not with the Charge 4. Having two smaller oval drivers in stereo would've been a better way to go with the Charge 4. Lastly the Charge 4 is stripped of a speaker phone function.....this is stupid since the music stops playing when a call comes in. It would've been smart to maybe keep the music playing at a lower volume or something. Or just leave the speaker phone function intact since its something I use on my Charge 3. Lastly the Charge 4 doesn't come with a charger like the Charge 3 did. So basically your paying more for a stripped down speaker......no charger, no speakerphone, no stereo driver setup.....the Charge 4 isn't an evolution but more of a step in the wrong direction. They had a good formula with the Charge 3 but ruined it with the Charge 4.....

My work has me around a lot of loud machines. And this little booger is loud enough for me to hear it even when I'm sawing. Amazing!!

To be clear I own three jbl speakers and jbl reflect mini ear buds. All of the products I’ve owned by JBL have been amazing and extremely durable. My JBL 4 has been the biggest disappointment. It does not stay play sound no matter how many times I reset it. From the day I purchased it at Best Buy to now. The speaker will connect via Bluetooth only and not play any sound. The speaker will remain connected and is able to control volume on my phone as well as pause what ever is playing. I have contacted JBL support and they have been absolutely no help. If you search jbl 4 reset on YouTube you will see this is a common occurrence. Again I own many different jbl speakers and have been overly impressed by their sound quality and durability. I hope that I just purchased a bad/broken speaker.

Sound was ok, a bit too boomy but main issue is that the internal battery stopped charging after about 9 months, requiring it to always be plugged in. So much for being portable. And now it refuses to sync with any of my devices. So it's effectively DEAD. Remember folks - JBL stands for Junk But Loud.

Second one I have bought. The first only Lasted a few hours. Swap at the store now less than a year old JBL will not replace the unit. I have only used about 10 times. It has left my desk a few times it looks like it did the it came out of the box. Now volume down button turns it off. The unit then turns back on and will not turn off until it runs out of battery. The only way to keep it off is leave plug in to computer. JBL said they would replace a week later they sent an email that they will give a 35% off of a new Speaker. I would not waste my money to by anything with JBL name on it if they can not stand by their products. Something that cost over 200 dollars should last more than a year especially with limited use.

!!DO NOT BUY THIS SPEAKER unless you like wearing hearing aids) When you're listening to different songs on YouTube, each time you start new song or video this speaker jumps to the highest volume possible (100 decibels acording to our decibel measuring device) It is SO loud you literally have to put the speaker in another room, close the door & walk away before you start a new song or video. (the volume level jumps back to a tolerable volume after a few seconds. So then you can go back inside the room and listen to the speaker). This burst, at over 100 decibels we read... for even 1 second causes PERMANENT hearing damage. Unfortunately if you decide to Simply tolerate it and not plug your ears or not move the speaker to another room at the beginning of each new video, eventually your hearing gets so damaged this sound burst no longer sounds that loud to you over time. This hearing damage becomes permanent after only ONE second.
