The charge for did not come with the charging block that you would put in a wall outlet so an additional purchase is recommended there next the battery doesn't seem to last as long I can't even get 8 hours out of mine before I have to charge it and last but not least the speaker doesn't sound as good as the charge 3 that I had previous just not the same JBL charge has enough for their speakers to get on board and make a quality speaker instead of getting cheaper

I bought the Charge 4 after researching options for my home office and for travel (not that I'm doing much during the pandemic). We have a JBL Micro from several years ago, and to be honest, its excellent sound quality paired with some professional reviews of the Charge 4 made the decision easy. Although the Charge 4 only has a single driver, the clarity across the different frequencies and the soundstage is impressive. The bass lends good depth without being overwhelming or making the sound muddy. And this speaker will get very loud. I don't expect to need the water-resistant feature often, but it's nice to know the Charge 4 can handle the occasional mishap. It was a bit heavy to toss in my backpack on a recent trip to California, but it was great to have in the hotel room. I can see where the ability to top off a phone's charge -- since the Charge 4 doubles as a big power bank -- may come in handy.

I am in LOVE with this speaker. Connecting to bluetooth is so incredibly easy and fast. Within 5 seconds of turning it on, my phone connects and plays. Not only that but the sound quality is AMAZING and it can get SO loud for it's size!!! Plus it's waterproof!?!? After comparing this to my Bose Color Soundlink speaker, I wish I made the switch sooner!! The battery life is so long compared to almost every other bluetooth speaker. So if you've done your research well, you can feel more than confident buying this speaker. Highly recommend.

I just got my Charge 4 and I have to say, I am impressed so far. Full disclosure, I have the JBL "Boombox" which, well...has the neighbors calling the police. That system is simply incredible! However, it's in the mid-350.00 range and I use it as a full-blown stereo. After being so impressed with the JBL "boombox" I wanted something I could sit on my desk, in front of me, to listen to podcasts and music on. As you can imagine, the "boombox" is not the device to do that with. It's just too big. So, I started looking at the smaller JBL offerings and was going to get the Xtreme 2 but after measuring the area I had to work with I decided the Charge series was the right choice as it "fits" perfectly in the area I have set up for the speaker. Sound - I, like a lot of you probably have done, have read a lot of reviews and watched my fair share of YouTube videos on the Charge 3 vs. the Charge 4 and people complaining about the two-speaker system in the C3 vs. the "mono" speaker in the C4. Well, first off, the charge 4 has three speakers (two base, one on each side and a mid-tweeter speaker). The C3 does have 4 speakers (two base, one of each side, and dual front speakers). Hmmm....thinking the 4 speaker setup might be better. So, I went to BestBuy and listened to both of them in person and found the C4 (at least to my ears) sounded "fuller" especially at a louder volume. The C3 started to rattle when really cranked where the C4 didn't. Hmmm....started thinking the 3 speaker setup might be better. The C4 also came with Connect 2 which allows me to pair it with my JBL boombox so when no one is home, I can crank the heck out of it! It sounds really good! Boombox in the back of me and the C4 in front. Oh, so sweet. I know everyone has a different preference when it comes to sound and I highly recommend you hit YouTube and look for a couple of videos comparing the two speakers unless you can get to a local BestBuy and listen to them in person. If you do the YouTube route, listen to the comparisons with headphones. You can hear a difference and which ever one YOU think sounds best, that’s the one you want. I love my C4 and I do recommend it…for me. You? Go listen and decide for yourself.

The sound on this is great nice and crispy the bass is there, it's loud enough perfect for home use, BBQ's and definitely the beach water resistant and built like a tank. The fact that you can also charge your phone is a definite plus. If you're wondering about battery life this lasts quite a while between charges. Would recommend for sure if you're looking for something that you can bring with you.

Sound quality is amazing... it's a only a little bigger than most cylinder shaped portable speakers, but the sound is noticeably more rich and the bass isn't all hollow sounding. The battery life is fantastic and being able to charge your phone from it is a handy feature. I'm very happy with this speaker and it's well worth the slightly higher price.

This is a wonderful sounding speaker! Hooks up very easily using Bluetooth and is very compact. The sound is amazing! My kids and I use it by our swimming pool since it is also water resistant. The highs are good and the bass comes through real clean as well. I would recommend this speaker to anyone looking for an affordable portable great sounding speaker!

I needed something versatile enough to carry around, sound good and loud enough to play under open skies for up-to 200 feet circumference (which can be big ask when it comes to portable speakers). I am very impressed with JBL(Harmon K. Company). They did really well with Charge4. I returned the Bose Revolve+ for this device and never looked back. It’s loud and clear at high volumes in open spaces, even at full volume I can hear notes of sound very well and on top of that the sound carries over 200 feet away at 90% volume. It’s lasts me about 5hours of loud and continuous use outdoors. I am pretty sure it will last for several hours if I play it at 40% volume or less indoors. I have not tried to pair it with another charge4 device for stereo because this device is plenty loud and clear. My only ask for the next generation charge would be to add google assist or Alexa or Siri built in, because when I need it I must have my phone around because it’s the Siri on my phone playing sounds through the device and not the device itself. Sometimes I need to put my phone on charge away from where I am so having an assistance built in the speaks works best. Overall I highly recommend this device over the hyped and branded Boses of the world.

I love this speaker. But it’s not my go-to Bluetooth speaker. Yes, it sounds amazing and has bass that is superior to other competitors in this price range including Sony and UE (both of which I purchased and subsequently returned). Yes it allows you to connect multiple JBL speakers with its pairing features. Yes it also doubles as a power-bank for your phone or tablet. And yes, it’s fully waterproof and fully submersible. But it’s not my go-to speaker. My Anker Soundcore Boost is my go-to. It has very comparable sound quality to the JBL including great bass. It also doubles as a power bank like the JBL. It’s more portable than the JBL, even if just slightly (it fits in the power-bank holder of my backpack). Unfortunately the Anker is not fully waterproof (which is funny given that the company is named after something attached to boats and that’s only purpose is to be submersed) and can’t be submersed fully in water unlike the JBL. The Anker does let you answer calls from the speaker, unlike the Charge 4. And while not the biggest factor to the overall sound quality, the Anker is a stereo speaker whereas the JBL Charge 4 has only a single mono speaker, making the Anker sound ever so slightly more accurate overall. All that said, I love my Charge 4. It’s the speaker I take while camping given the added durability. Plus, it’s likely I’ll buy a second JBL in the future to connect multiple speakers, something you can’t yet do with the Anker line.

FREAKING AMAZING SPEAKER!!!! I own several "high-end" bluetooth speakers and a few cheapos. This Charge 4 has WAYY exceeded my expectations for a speaker. The bass is heavy and clear, the highs and mids are there, the battery life is outstanding, and the price is really, really fair for what it is. It is also waterproof. I also love the 3mm jack to plug in accessories, which I do use. Please don't take change anything about this speaker, JBL. I bought this speaker to replace my outside speaker, but it's just too awesome; it became my nightstand speaker that I use every night. It literally sounds like surround sound on my nightstand. I would absolutely buy this speaker again and HIGHLY recommend it!!!! I see a second Charge 4 in my future. Hands down the best bluetooth speaker I own.

Bought 2 charging port is very weak and the rubber door closes against it as its charging

Bought this speaker as a gift for my husband. Love that it’s compact, but has a large sound. Big plus that it’s waterproof and you may charge your phone while listening. Haven’t even had it turned up all the way and you can hear it throughout the entire house!

Great audio, portability, weight, bass. Price is a little steep but you get what you pay for and this is great quality. Bluetooth connects super fast, long battery life, charges quickly, and is very durable. Spend the extra money and buy with confidence.

I use this almost every day. Battery last a king time. I like that you can charge your phone while using. Pretty loud for being a smaller speaker. Can’t wait to bring it to the beach. Also, the sound is great and has good bass.

Very happy with purchase. Pairs easily with my IPhone 11. Sounds great. Bass is good. Battery lasts all day. Charges quickly. I would recommend it. Has enough volume to be heard easily outside.
