Sound quality is improved from the previous model and the speaker can also get much louder. 60% volume is equal to 100% volume of the previous model. Sound quality and volume is at the expense of battery life. At 75% volume the speaker will run on a full charge for a little under four hours.

This small speaker can fill up a room with great sound. Good bass, overall awesome speaker.

Haven’t had a chance to do too much with it, but I can tell you from just the first two weeks that the sound is rich and fills our kitchen with awesome background music when we’re cooking or hosting guests.

Sound is great across the house or back yard. Holds a long charge. Replaced the smaller version after its speaker developed a little pop.

Just received mine this week upgrading from the Charge 4. First, update the firmware via the JBL app. Second, this is exponentially louder than the Charge 3 & 4. The bass is great but what really caught my ear is the treble is quite a bit more pronounced or “brighter” than the previous iterations. Comparatively, the Charge 4 actually sounds flat when testing the two. I think it’s still a nice upgrade though.

Absolute great speaker. Had a few river trips with this so far without issue. Would recommend.
