You have to turn it off and then on again to remedy the problem, but it returns quickly and it is extremely irritating for an expensive speaker. Bluetooth is reprehensible technology in its current state as it is, but this speaker exasperates that fact even more. It's almost unusable. If it were to function properly on a consistent basis, it would be worthy of some praise, so that is the only reason why it is not 1 star.

Posted .Thanks for your feedback. We're always looking for ways to improve. To help you with your JBL Charge 5. Please check the equalizer settings of your phone and set it to default. We also recommend trying to connect it with a different device or play audio using a different application. You may also try doing a Factory Reset by pressing and holding the "Volume +" and "Play" buttons at the same time for more than 3 seconds unit will power Off by itself. If you need more help, please contact our customer support.

Now to my opinion review: I have yet to try using the product as a charge bank, so no opinions or review from my end on that part, yet. Biggest concern is battery life. I've had it for 3 days, and it doesn't get anywhere near the advertised battery life of 20 hours. I understand there are factors, but my settings are just high bass with volume being around 50 or less, and I'll get anywhere 5 -6 hours until I get a warning that I need to charge. Other than that, the sound quality is great for a portable speaker!!! Conclusion: Sound Quality is great! You get a "water resistant" speaker (NOT waterproof)! AND it allows charging to other devices with a USB cord/plug (Not Included), if needed. Basically, It is a great product for sound, but may fall in expectancies of what they way about the battery life.

Posted .Thank you for your feedback. Our JBL Charge 5 has a battery life of up to 20 hours. If the speaker does not match the specified playtime hours even at low to medium volume settings, the battery may be faulty. Please contact Customer Service so that we can assist you.
