I use it when kayaking...other than having to turn it down when someone tries to talk to me, this was worth the money.it lasted amazingly 6.5 hrs of non stop listening

2nd one to purchase. These are a rock solid little speaker. Long lasting per charge. This one happened to be a gift for a friend who has been around when I have mine in use. He is loving this speaker.

I had originally purchased a Charge 3 years ago. One of my brothers also had a 3. They are great for syncing together at family events and my other brother was the convinced to buy the Charge 4 and wanted to borrow mine. After trying to sync my 3 with his 4, I read up on upgrading the firmware to make it compatible with the 4 (Jbl Connect to Jbl Connect+). However my other brother with a 3 didn’t want to upgrade because he often synced his with a friend that still had Connect. After forgetting my Charge 3 at home while on a two week trip, I purchased a Charge 5 expecting it to be able to sync with others via Connect+. Im disappointed to discover that now there is another update that is not backwards compatible with syncing old models. This was a main reason why i bought it. They other thing i really liked about the Charge 3 was the ability to use it as a external phone charger when needed. Unfortunately, while the Charge 5 does have a USB port for charging external devices, it doesn’t really work for the latest phones like iphone 13 Plus. Also the missing prev track and next track buttons. Overall, I would recommend anyone with a Charge 3 or 4 to stick with those models, because the charge feature is no better on the 5 and a slightly better sound quality doesn’t make up for the lack of backwards compatibility.

Absolutely FANTASTIC speaker from JBL! I just bought the 3rd one for our family (finally one for me) because I was jealous of how great it was compared to the Bose speaker I had!! Highly recommend it!

The bass on this speaker is SUPER AMAZING but the downside is that if you wanna blast your music on this speaker the battery life will be shorter then 20 hours and you can’t connect it to your JBL charge 4

Great waterproof, portable speaker that allows you to charge your mobile device. I prefer the JBL Flip, even though it doesn’t charge your device, because it’s smaller/lighter/more portable with an attached carrying rope, plus it’s half the price, but the JBL Charge is a close second. It’s just a matter of preference. Both are great speakers.

It is nice easy to use. I like the thickness of the computer I like the software. and it is nice to use out door. so I love it. Thank you so much.

Chose this after reading the great reviews, and I am definitely more impressed than I thought I would be. It does perform better indoors than out doors, but that was expected.

This was a gift for my brother-in-law. He was putting his old Bose speaker in a zip lock baggie to take down to the beach. This is so much better!! He loves it!

Excellent portable speaker!...listen to Sirius on jobsite, and also use in vehicle on way to and from site!...HIGHly recommend!...

It is mono speaker but can be paired with another JBL portable speaker to generate stereo sound. Sound quality is decent for its size and portability.
