Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just bought this from Best Buy in Topeka and the people there are so nice and helped me with everything. But this is about the speaker not the people. The speaker is great. It has a long lasting battery, great bass, and sounds outstanding. The power bank in the bottom has saved my phone from dying multiple times.

Posted .We're sorry to hear about what happened. Our JBL Charge 5 should have at least 20 hours of playtime (depending on the music content and volume level). Here are some things to try that often fix these issues. Try a different USB cable. Try a different USB charger, rated at least 2 amps. Try disconnecting the cable from your product and re-inserting it. Sand or dirt can get into the product’s charging port. If necessary, check the port and clean it with compressed air or a toothpick. If you need more help, please contact our customer support so we can assist you.

The speaker quality seems to be pretty solid. We have utilized the portability of the unit many times, over the past week. I purchase the camo one, which may have been a bit unusual for both of us, but all of us really like it. This would be a great gift for many different age brackets.

The bass is super low and the highs are really well proportioned. I wasn’t sure this speaker could produce enough sound to fill the room but I was wrong. It most certainly does! I’m glad I bought it and I would not hesitate to buy it again.

It fares well when exposed to dust as well. This is my first speaker of this kind so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but I’m glad I bought it. I was able to score it on sale.

The unboxing is simple and straightforward, you get your quick start guide, your USB-a to USB-c cable, and then the speaker itself. For most music out there, this speaker will sound superb; the bass is deep and clean, the highs sound pretty good, and there's decent instrument separation. However, background vocals on this speaker sound terrible. A good example for background vocals would be Time Alone With You by Jacob Collier, which is a phenomenal song. (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qUCyW7ewPs ) Most of the vocals within the song it's layered and detailed, which just sounds fantastic. However, on this speaker, those detailed vocals sound muffled and raspy which infuriates me. If you care about the background vocals in your music, don't buy this speaker. However, if you don't care about that, then this is probably the best sounding speaker to buy for under 200 bucks.

You can wirelessly daisy chain the Charge 5 with another Charge 5 of other JBL wireless speaker to create a surround sound environment. I plan to wirelessly pair two Charge5s and bring them to the beach for our next beach party.
