The sound quality is fair-good, better at higher volumes. (I've connected to both my computer and multiple portable devices.) The phone syncing capability (answering, talking, etc.) is effective, as well. I don't really have very many other products with which to compare... I did purchase the HP Roar as well, and it's comparable but less portable. The two products are approximately the same price point. I'd say the clip wins out on portability and connectivity but is otherwise approximately equivalent in all other qualities.

Posted .If you have the volume on the CLIP cranked with no music playing, you will hear a quiet hissing sound. Turning down the volume will reduce the noise. This is normal.

Posted .The battery will last UP TO 5 hours, depending what you are listening to. If you are listening to mellow acoustic music at background music listening levels, the battery will last up to 5 hours. But if you are cranking up to maximum volume and listening to hip-hop with loud deep bass, the battery will drain much quicker.
It is the same with all products. For example, if you set your screen on your phone to really bright, it will drain your battery faster. If you push the pedal in your car all the way down, driving really fast, it will use more gas then driving really slow. If you use a 100 watt light bulb, it will cost more in electricity than if you use a 10 watt bulb.

He has used it at work (he's a painter) and has come home everyday telling me how much he loves being able to listen to the radio so easily. Posted .Sorry to hear of this problem you are having. What you are experiencing is not normal. The CLIP offers up to 5 hours of playtime from a full charge. Now, it is possible that you have a defective unit that is not taking a charge, and as a result, shutting off after a few minutes. But there is another possibility as well.
Let's assume it is fully charged. Now you connect to it and start playing music, and it shuts off after approximately 10 minutes. It is very likely that this is the unit going into auto on/off standby mode. Here's how it works. The auto on/off feature is based on audio signal. If it sees and audio signal present, it turns on and starts playing music. If it does not see any audio present for 10 minutes, it shuts off and goes into standby. So, if you have the volume on the CLIP cranked up, and the volume on your portable device set really low, it is very possible that the CLIP is not seeing enough of an audio signal to know to stay on. Please try turning the volume on the CLIP down a bit, and then crank up the volume on your device to get to the level you desire. This will send a hotter signal to the CLIP and it should stay on without any issue.

I have JBL speakers on my phone and I really liked the sound that came from them. So this little speaker works just fine what I need it for. It paired easy to my phone, it plenty loud enough without being distorted. If you aren't planning to rock the house down and just need a bit more volume then I would recommend this.

Long lasting battery, I've used it for about 5 hours on a full charge with no problem. Works with Bluetooth or plug it iin direct with the supplied built-in 3.5mm Aux cable. Clip it to your belt or backpack and GO!
