Customers are pleased with the Everest 700 Wireless Over-the-Ear Headphones' excellent sound quality, comfortable fit, and impressive battery life. Many appreciate the reliable Bluetooth connectivity and strong bass response, while some users noted that the volume could be improved and that button placement is not ideal for all users. The lack of a carrying case was also mentioned as a drawback by a few customers. Overall, the positive feedback on sound and comfort outweighs the reported minor issues.

Sounded decent, but there is a lag between audio and video, so it is unbearable to watch video. Had to return.

Update!!!!! From the manager of their customer support division,
"Brandon,
Your timing is perfect. We just released a firmware update for them. The update is found in the Manuals & Download section on the product page; it is listed as HID Software. As a beta tester I ran through 3 updates earlier this week with no problem."
I just performed the update and they work beautifully!!!! I am now officially thrilled with this purchase and highly recommend them to anyone. It's a bit annoying that it took all the hullabaloo to get to this point, but all's well that ends well.

Great balanced sound, unclear directions

I went into Best Buy and tried every pair of headphones on the rack and decided on these. I currently play music and have several songs on iTunes. I had a pair of Beats Solo 2 for about a year and one side went out that's why I am buying new headphones. Here is the difference. Beats have more deep bass but not much I can tell it in the bass drum. The beats midrange is just ok. The JBL's have a very strong midrange for electric guitars etc. Vocally, the beats have a warm but thin sound. The JBL's are about the same but with more air and clarity. Treble on both are even. The JBL's work well in all music genres but really excel in Rock. They produce enough bass and treble to perform well in Rap, Hip -hop and pop as well. These headphones are well balanced, very clear and detailed. Listen to cymbals when testing if they sound harsh, the recording is either over compressed or the treble isn't eq'd right. Great low end, midrange and treble. YES you can have it all. 2 negatives headphones are tight and get uncomfortable over time if u have a big head.. Second, directions were confusing and hard to read too light a font. Stay way from Sony muddy treble and Bose has a washy treble. FYI they get even better as they break-in

JBL EVEREST 700 headphones have great sound high and low and the battery life is outstanding. The one thing I don't like is the placement of the control buttons. I am constantly hitting the power button when I put them on or take them off. Also I found that they also turn on while they are in their storage bag.

I spent a few days reading various reviews on good on-ear and over-the-ear wireless headphones. I wanted something that I could use with the television and my Xbox, but it was also important that they provide good clear, crisp sound when I want to listen to music. After reading many reviews for JBL, Sony, Beats, Bose and more, I decided on these. You might say I let a lot of other people actually try out different brands and models, and went with their reports. All I can say is that I am very satisfied with these Bluetooth phones. And I really like that I can physically plug them in to my laptop and listen to them when they are charging, which they don't require all that often.

Good, but not great for TV usage

I have mixed feelings about these headphones (thus the 3 star rating).
The good:
- Sound great when listening to music
- Have a handy "share me" feature for sharing sound with another pair of headphones, which actually works very well (color me pleasantly surprised to find that a gimmicky sounding feature actually works)
- Work well, with little or no lag, when paired with Apple TV or Fire TV (for movies, too, not just music)
The bad:
- The Headphone band in between the two ear cups does not stretch very far, an issue for big-headed folk like me (compresses my head a bit)
- The Padding on the earcups is good but not great, and the headphones cause mild to moderate ear discomfort after use for more than forty five minutes or so (though they are much better than the Everest 300)
- The headphones seem to have some trouble paring up with Bluetooth devices: it works eventually, but often takes multiple tries (maybe this is common with bluetooth devices)
- There is very noticeable lag when they are used with the bluetooth transmitter that I hooked up to my TV, which is extremely distracting and makes TV almost unwatchable with them
The last feature was the dealbreaker for me. My goal is to find headsets that my wife and I can wear and use to listen to TV together, after the kiddies have gone to bed. These almost but don't quite fit the bill because they work well with SOME devices but not with the Bluetooth transmitter I hooked up to my TV. The ear and head discomfort is also an issue: I wouldn't say these are bad, but they just aren't comfortable to use for more than forty five minutes or so, and I notice that my ears hurt for a while even after I take them off. The noise cancellation feature is a mixed blessing: it keeps out annoying distractions, but it also gives me a disembodied feeling that I don't like. This is probably typical of noise cancellation headphones, so I wouldn't fault this product in particular for that issue, but it is one more thing that makes this product not quite right for me.

Great Headphones!

These are amazing headphones, they do have a couple of drawbacks, but much better than anything else I've used in the past. My first set of headphones were a skull candy pair that sounded terrible and broke after a few months. I then purchased Monster Beats (first gen by Dr. Dre) and they were better, but pretty bad. After half a year they started to static and they weren't very comfortable. These JBL's have the best sound and they are great for my eDrum set. The drawbacks. I can never tell when they are on or off. I'm still unsure if its the Bluetooth that uses the battery or the entire system. The instructions are not very detailed. The quick start guide was the only guide provided. Also the 2.5 mm imput is cool, but why can't it be a 3.5 mm? That is more common than 2.5, I had to buy a converter online because no store would ever carry a converter that no one ever uses. Last, but not least, these to NOT come with a case or even a pouch. This is the only headphone set I have ever had that did not come with a pouch or case and that is the biggest drawback to these. I take great care of all my electronics and I want the company to understand effort it takes, but it is so much less effort with provided protection. I pretty sure the Next Gen has a case with them, that may be the marketing scheme to have customers upgrade, but I'm telling you to give in. A case is worth upgrading. Other than that these are really good headphones.

Excellent except pressure on top of your head

Excellent in all respects except one: if the very top center of your head is sensitive to any pressure whatsoever, you will need to readjust fairly frequently or have a baseball cap on while you wear them.
Performance and features are all excellent. I would rather wear the baseball cap than spend the extra couple hundred bucks on another brand.

Good sound, poor service and terrible delay

I bought these headphones yesterday, after having to return the first pair because of a broken button I discovered the audio sync issue. The delay on this device via Bluetooth is about 1 to 2 seconds, the video is not in sync with audio. I called the service number and they were absolutely no help, the service representative didn't even know what I was saying. I know that they recently put out an update for the elite version of the headphones but I shouldn't have to pay an extra 100 dollars to get quality functioning headphones, having paid 200 dollars already. Just because I didn't purchase your elite version doesn't mean I should get a half functioning product. It seems like there is no one that is willing to address this problem or even acknowledge the fact that there is one. When people post questions, they receive cookie cutter responses that never answer the question. The sound quality is good but the customer service and audio sync issues make these headphones 200 dollar "music only headphones". I am extremely disappointed in the headphones and if the audio issue does not get fix I will be returning them and purchasing headphones that actually work, from companies that actually value customer service and delivering working products. JBL fix the lag and retrain your customer service representatives to actually care.

I bought these to watch videos, movies, etc. while my wife watches boring judge shows. Well there is a 2 second delay, a lag I would call it, while watching videos. JBL has no fix for this and I'm currently waiting for a replacement to ship from them.
JBL's service has been slow but polite. Had I known it was going to take so long for them to remedy this I would have tried returning them outright instead. Also, I sent them back 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting for the replacement.....Pass these up and go for Beats instead.

Sound quality is pretty dang good. Unfortunately the delay between audio and video is really bad. Talked to customer service twice, both times it seemed like the person on the other end didn't even know what headphones were.

Power on/off button failed

I bought these on Black Friday 2016, returned them to the store Jan 6, 2017 because they stopped working. I would hold the power button for over 30 seconds waiting to hear the power on voice, nothing. This was after using them for less than 4 hours total. Also, the volume rocker on the other side came loose at the top end, I managed to reset it. I noticed this problem on Jan 4th, but kept it long enough to make sure the battery was recharged.
The sad thing, I was willing to give them another try but, this time I was going to use them everyday (put them to the test to make sure they would hold up), but when I went back to the store, they had sold out.
I did like the sound and the fact that they could be used with blue tooth or with the enclosed cord. I liked how the left, right side were clearly marked inside the ear cup.

Initial review

Just purchased two of these for the kids. The initial fun is getting them paired. Once you figure this out from the little wording in the directions it is fairly easy. I first tested with Pandora which worked great from my iPhone. My son then paired them with his laptop and used Skype which worked great. He then paired them to an iPadMini and there was a delay with NetFlix which has been verified with the second pair with a second iPadMini. I have submitted a support request with JBL and will update with any information that they provide.
It seems that it may just be a bluetooth issue. It may be best to go wired if you plan on using these to watch video.

These JBL headphones have great sound and seem to get even better the more I listen to them and thye get broken-in. The battery life is great, since I still haven't even had to recharge them yet after hours of use. They are comfortable and block out a lot of ambient noise, even though they are not the "noise-cancelling" model which costs $100 more. My only complaint would be the sharing feature which I never really plan on using. It way too easy to activate this feature accidentally just by touching a button on the right speaker. This initiates a pairing process that interrupts your music temporarily while you cancel it. I wish there was a way to cancel this feature semi-permanently.
Overall, I am very pleased with these headphones. I say they are a good choice if you don't want or need the status symbol of Beats. I'm sure they sound better and cost less.

Great sound...constant issues with charging

Great sound... perfect for the gym where I use them mostly to cancel out all the moaning and grunting from "some" gym goers. I was an avid fan of the Beats headphones before but the quality of manufacturing went down hill so I was recommended to get JBL headphones. The battery lasts a long time that is when I can actually charge it. I have had these for a about a year and have had off and on issues with being able to charge them. When the red light doesn't appear indicating it is charging, I usually hold down the power button and reset it. That remedied the issue up until now. I am disheartened I paid $199 for headphones that won't charge anymore because I really enjoy them.
