I own three of these. Can’t say enough good things about them!

Purchased in December 2021 as a present. Was used once or twice a week for a couple of hours. Sounds pretty good at low to medium levels. Tinny at higher levels. Likes to connect to multiple devices if they are in the area. Would probably have given 4 stars if it had lasted more than 13 months. Of course, it died one month past warranty. JBL said basically - Oh well, here is a 35% coupon for your next JBL purchase as we believe it would cost more for a repair than to replace. Uh, ok. I am supposed to want to buy another JBL product when it lasted for a year? Nope. Usually I purchase the Best Buy extended warranty, but on a small speaker that is indoors and not used that much? The cost was too much at the time. I just purchased a new bluetooth speaker for $70 that has waaayyy more output, 4 speakers and the 3 year Allstate warranty was $8. Two years at Best Buy? $26. I know, sometimes you just get a dud and another unit will last one of you 13 years instead of 13 months. But I am not willing to gamble again.

The problem with the JBL Flip 4 is the JBL Connect App. It does very little. I have Ultimate Ears Boom speakers and, through the app, you can turn the speakers on & off, adjust the volume, and set your EQ preferences. You can do these items even if the speakers are paired with a device other than your phone, i.e., your TV or computer. You can’t do any of this with the JBL app. With JBL speakers, it’s a pain to have to always go to the speaker to turn it on or off. If I’m relaxing watching TV, I don’t want to get up to change the volume like I have to with JBL speakers. Also there is no way to make EQ adjustments even from the speaker. There is a very noticeable ‘lag’ to these speakers. It makes a delayed echo. With the Ultimate Ears speakers, I don’t notice a lag and there definitely isn’t an echo. I bought the Flip 4 for the audio quality; and for the speakerphone and 3.5 mm port (jack). Hindsight, the app functions and EQ adjustments are much more important & useful. Also, the overall audio quality of JBL, Ultimate Ears, and Bose are very close to each other, so that really isn’t a deciding factor. At the end of the day, given the inferior JBL app, wish I hadn’t purchased a JBL speaker.

Good value, high quality and the best relationship price/high fid.

My wife has been wanting something for the kitchen and to carry around the house and for laundry. She was very pleased and really enjoys it. It is very well made and has an excellent power cord. The packaging was also very nice. You could tell this was not your typical Ch!n@s@ junk.

This speaker connects easily to my iPhone and produces great sound.
