I did a lot of research (Bose, JBL, Beats) before buying the JBL speaker, and let me tell you I am so glad I did. This speaker exceeded my expectations. The sound is amazing! I haven't used it for a long period at one time, just a couple hours here and there, and it has held its charge very well. I only charged it when I first took it out of the package and it's still going strong. I highly recommend.

The bass is way better , and it sounds a lot clearer than the previous one And now it's water proof

My teenage sister has had hers for two years and it still works great, so I decided to purchase one as well. With JBL connect, you can do the “party” or “stereo” speakers which is great when you have more than one and want the whole house to play the same music. I love the sound quality, it’s loud but not full of static!

I decided I needed something more "portable" than my JBL Xtreme (which I absolutely love). I decided to do quick research on the interweb and after watching YouTube videos of this and the Charge 3, I was undecided. In the end, I decided the whole point for me was portability (the Clip was just a little too portable - i wanted something with a little more substance, although if the Clip drops by $30 I may add that one to my collection too). Back to the review. The Charge 3 did seem to sound better, at least what I considered better, but when there is nothing to compare it to, the Flip 4 is stellar. I hang it from door knobs when I'm cleaning, I can throw it in my pack. When I travel on the airplane it won't take up too much space in my carry on. I really like the Flip 4 and will get a ton of use out of it. I love that I don't have to worry about it getting wet too. I'm extremely satisfied that I chose the Flip 4 over the Charge 3 for my purposes. I would be even more satisfied if I had gotten the speaker on sale as I think $100 is a little steep. But as I get older I find I'm getting cheaper too!

This speaker provides very good sound quality at an affordable price. You can increase the volume to a decent level without any distortion. The battery last for several hours.

Got this at a great price!! My son has the #5 and loves it, great sound! I bought this one in a 4 and it is just like the 5 but way cheaper!

I loved having this and then one day it just wouldn't keep a charge i didnt really know why but i had insurance

Excellent sound quality! Bass and midrange are full and robust. Pairs perfectly with I-Phone BlueTooth signal!

The speaker has great sound and goes loud enough to fill a medium sized room. The bass is solid. The startup sound is what makes me take a star off. It is very loud and can be heard in other rooms in my house every time I turn it on. Once HK allows for this to be disabled via firmware update then my review will be 5 stars.

I tend to be a late adopter of tech and keep stuff for a lonnnng time. This is replacing a set of Bose speakers I've had for about 8 years, and WOW. I'm SO impressed. It's good and loud, nice frequency range, plays most kinds of music really, REALLY well. As others have mentioned, not a lot of bass, so be aware of that - and it does fall a tiny bit flat on classical music with a lot of nuances - but for the indie rock stuff I usually listen to, this is a really great speaker for the money. I'm hugely impressed, and did not expect to be. I'll be buying more of these!

I've had my latest JBL Flip 4 for about 3 months and starting to have charging issues. It won't charge all the way even after keeping it plugged in for 10 hours and even has a hard time making a connection. Will trade in once again but this is my 3rd JBL having charging issues. The sound is still great but can't get more that 2 hours playing time anymore.

On a whim I decided to buy a new bluetooth speaker...I had a $20 one that I bought last summer in a drugstore which was already falling apart. I was going to get a UE but they were sold out of the one I was going to get. I saw this one, which was cheaper than the UE, and decided to take a chance and buy it. I'm so glad I did...I can't believe how good it sounds for less than $100. Can't wait to use it for outdoor activities once it gets warmer outside!

The speaker sounds great for a small speaker the only problem is when pairing 2 speakers together the JBL Connect App has a problem recognizing the other speaker so u can put it in stereo mode also when the two speaker are paired together one will drop out every one else in a while .Thats why I bought 2 speakers so I can have them in stereo mode but I'm having problems with that ,so I will be returning mine .Hopefully JBL with correct this issue other wise the speaker is great when working

I bought these and the UE LE's, and I like the Clip4's a lot better. They sounded better with a little more bass and clearer mids and highs. The UE's will pair but not in stereo (couldn't find an app that will allow stereo). The Clip4's paired (in stereo) well but started to disconnet at aprox. 30ft.(I had to download an app. to get stereo). These are like most directional speakers so you need to keep them outside of the listening area pointing toward you. I'm returning the UE's. Thanks Best Buy for letting me try these speakers out, love that return policy, and the great Blk Fri. price.
