Nice speaker, very nice sound quality for the price

Small and Powerful. Good solid bass. Great sound for most outdoor and indoor applications.

I bought the smaller version of this for both my sons and this one for me but when comparing the smaller to the larger one... It was an insignificant difference between them... as far as volume and clarity in listening to music...so I kinda wish I had NOT spent the extra money for the larger one myself... The smaller ones ARE SMALLER and so much easier to pop in your bag to take to the beach or out on a boat... and sound virtually the same. :)

I previously owned the Flip 4. That speaker lasted me like 5 years with daily listening. I personally thought the quality was amazing. So when it died I bought the flip 5. The sound quality of the Flip 5 is not as good as the Flip 4. The Flip 4 sound quality had a warmness to it. The sound kind of wrapped around you. The Flip 5 doesn't have that. The bass on the Flip 5 is not so good. There is definitely more bass on the Flip 5, but more bass doesn't mean good bass. At times the bass can sound flat and generic. Overall this is still a great speaker, better than most out there. The sound quality definitely rivals that of the Bose Bluetooth speaker. With added benefits like the ability to connect multiple JBL Flips together, is pretty ingenious.

I have to admit my skepticism at purchasing such a small speaker, thinking how can something this small provide any quality sound volume. The Flip 5 proved my skepticism totally wrong. This speaker fills a room with crystal clear sound at a very reasonable price. Purchased this to use on our lake home deck and pontoon boat. The unit is perfect and has superior Bluetooth connectivity. I've since started using it while I shower. There is more than enough quality sound to overpower the bathroom fan and running water of the shower. Get this unit... you will not be disappointed.

Good sound quality but no optional remote to control volume. Would be nice if could use as a speaker phone.

It was a gift for my husband! He loves it!! I didn't thought its super small but the sound its good.

Easy to set up and connect. It is just a pity that it does not have an auxiliary cord connection port. I bought this for my mom who is not very tech savvy, so I had to set up the bluetooth connection for her (no issues here). I have only used this speaker indoors and the sound quality and volume are phenomenal, especially for its small size. It can be stably placed horizontally and vertically.

I've only had this speaker for only a week but so far I'm really impressed. I didn't charge it all out if the box. I downloaded the JBL connect app & battery was probably at 70%. I've used it every day & currently at maybe 40%. I don't use it on full blast because there's no need to. I run it at maybe 50-60% full volume & it's more than loud enough in medium sized rooms. I have tried it on full blast but it's too loud for my taste. I haven't used it outdoors so I can't comment on that. Long story short, I'm very happy with the speaker & am actually thinking about getting another one

This is my first portable speaker so I don’t have a anything to compare it to. That being said I absolutely love this thing. Having read various reviews pros and cons equally I can say that Flip 5 exceeds my expectations fully. The speaker is user friendly and has some heft to it while not being all together clunky. The sound quality is top notch too. The bass is powerful & the overall loudness is strikingly good. I don’t know yet how long it holds a charge but it came right of the package ready to go. Highly recommended!

The sound is good but compared to Bose, it lacks behind a bit. The design is good and the harness thing to hold is a nice touch. But on its main purpose which is music and sound, sometimes its like penetrating the ears going very loud and not soothing.

I love this little speaker. Don't let its size fool you, it packs a punch! Just like everything else JBL makes, this speaker is top quality. Mine lives it's life in my garage and is exposed to oil, coolant, water, and frigid temps and still it kicks. I've even brought it to the beach and at half volume it's enough for people 50 feet away to hear. Would buy again and recommend 100%. Oh, and the battery life is not too shabby, either!

Good quality sound for the price. It hold a charge for about 3 hours at high volume.

Excellent sound in a compact size. Good bass, pleasant highs. The compact size makes it very portable.

Good sound, battery is great and easy to setup, cannot expect more sound for this size as good as a Bose mini

This is my 4th JBL Flip speaker...the first of the Flip 5 generation. Easy to pair with solid sound from such a small speaker. The JBL software allows you to link several speakers together too. The software is fairly easy to figure out...could be easier and I'm hoping that JBL continues to improve the app. My only complaint is overall quality. Every one of my prior speakers has died: 1 had batteries that went bad after ~1 year and the other 2 had both failed batteries (after ~1 year) as well as blown speakers. (Note: I'm not a huge bass or super loud kind of person, so it's not from playing music too loud!). Overall, not a bad speaker...may need to explore other options if this one fails!

Works fine. The flip 4 I have stopped charging, so not sure how long the flip 5 will last.
