I previously owned the Flip 4. That speaker lasted me like 5 years with daily listening. I personally thought the quality was amazing. So when it died I bought the flip 5. The sound quality of the Flip 5 is not as good as the Flip 4. The Flip 4 sound quality had a warmness to it. The sound kind of wrapped around you. The Flip 5 doesn't have that. The bass on the Flip 5 is not so good. There is definitely more bass on the Flip 5, but more bass doesn't mean good bass. At times the bass can sound flat and generic. Overall this is still a great speaker, better than most out there. The sound quality definitely rivals that of the Bose Bluetooth speaker. With added benefits like the ability to connect multiple JBL Flips together, is pretty ingenious.

Good sound quality but no optional remote to control volume. Would be nice if could use as a speaker phone.

We bought this to use outside at our pool the sound covers our whole backyard and gives us hours of fun for my family. Clear sound and awesome bass.

LOVE it - this is one item I use every day. I has decent bass for music and works when quite a long distance from my phone or iPad. I need to be careful when Summer comes - it has such a long range that I left my phone in the house and took my speaker outside while doing yard work. One of the times I must have forgotten to bring it back in and since we have three acres of land - lots of wooded area and a pond...I have not seen it since. I finally broke down and purchased a new one - I will be more careful with this one.

Lots of power and sound from this little guy. Bass is good as well as the volume. Mine was stolen but I’d definitely buy again.

The red colored speaker isnt as vibrant as seen in the pictures, i still love the speaker though, it sounds amazing and its portable!

Great sound in a small footprint. Plays as loud as you want! Setup was super easy. Never a problem connecting to my phone.
