In addition to price I looked at size, water resistance, quality of speaker and distance it would carry from the internet connection. For me, this was a great selection.

Good sound from a small package

I decided on the flip5 because I felt it was more portable. We hike and backpack and I think this size isn't too big to take along on short trips. Sound wasn't quite as good as the larger model, but still really good.
