buy it, you won't regret it

But that is a lot older than this and the battery lasts longer too.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love my new JBL Flip-5! I've had the 3 and 4 and this is by far the best! But it didn't come with a wrist band/speaker carrying wrist band. Was it supposed to?? Overall the best I've ever had!!

Lasted less than a year

The problems I started having about 2 months in was that it was difficult to turn on. That problem persisted and got worse till eventually it wouldn’t turn on at all. I really like the sound quality but the reliability is an issue. Never know if I’m going to be able to use it when I want to use it.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely poor battery life. Unlike the older models this speaker doesn't live up to its legacy. On top of the fact that the battery will start to quickly die on you, JBL has programmed the speaker to shut down even when it's close to dying-without warning it would just stop in middle of your favorite sung. This speaker will only last you a few months before the battery gets really bad.I just got it last Christmas and it is currently unable to hold a charge.

Posted .Thanks for your feedback. It is possible that the battery of your JBL Flip 5 is losing its capacity. However, it is also possible that the battery is working correctly, but depletes more quickly when the volume is very loud and/or the bass has been boosted. Please try to charge the battery to 100% and listen at low volume without the bass boosted. If the battery lasts close to the published up-to-playtime, the battery is working fine. if not, the battery may be losing capacity. Sounds good at low volume but when you turn it up it it sounds terrible. The Flip 2 from 2014 sounds better than this piece of junk. Why have an app if nobody can connect their speakers to it.

With connecting the speaker to the JBL Portables App, please make sure that the speaker is connected to your mobile device first via Bluetooth. Nothing but trouble from day one.

Charging port would not seat cable properly. They replaced it with one with the same problem. Took 12 hours to charge. Finally, the controls stopped working correctly. Wouldn't power off. Just an overall disaster of a product.
