Great speaker to take on the beach just loud enough

I received this speaker earlier today and have been using it since. I love this speaker. The battery life is great so far. The speaker sounds great. Despite it being shipped to me during the Christmas season, it arrived to my house very quickly after I ordered it. I cannot find a flaw with the speaker. I also love that the speaker charges through a USB C charging cord. I recommend this speaker to anyone who is looking for a speaker.

I was originally going to purchase the next bigger size speaker, but it was out of stock. We were getting ready to leave on a trip, so I bought the Flip 5. So glad I did! This little speaker has a fantastic sound and works great with my iPhone and iPad. I have always liked JBL products and they didn’t disappoint with the Flip 5! I even use it around the house, as the sound is equal to my Sonos system and it is much more portable.

I’m happy with this speaker overall. I bought my first one when looking to replace a cheaper Bluetooth speaker that died. I wanted to keep in the $100 range and landed on this one. I bought a 2nd for my daughter and she didn’t want it so I returned it to Best Buy unopened. It’s more than capable of getting louder than I’ll ever need and it’s small enough to not be cumbersome wherever I want to set it down. And, as silly as it may seem, the shoestring has proven to be convenient to hang it up when necessary. Sonically it’s pretty decent but has some issues in my opinion. The midrange is scooped and the low end is pretty artificially hyped. Great for hip hop and more simplistic dance music but A lot of midrange detail is lost due to those two factors. Unfortunately, most frequency information in most other genres of music lies in the midrange. I listen to almost every genre of music so that frequency wonkiness is really frustrating to me. At times the low end is overbearing AND sounds like what it is - a plastic cylinder. Also, the iPhone app is worthless unless you have two speakers. It’s only function is to turn them into a stereo pair. There’s no eq or any other type of processing available. I use the eq in Spotify to attenuate the bottom end. That goes a long way but I generally like to not need to use any eq whatsoever. Not really an option with most music on these speakers. The larger JBL Bluetooth speakers are even more exaggerated in the low end and scooped in the mids. All in all, I’m fine with it but I’ll dump this in a heartbeat if something more natural sounding comes along.

Speaker was really good quality Great sound but I could get the same sound out of a cheaper speaker wound up taking it back and getting the smaller JBL speaker so that I could hang it from anywhere with a carabiner

Got this for my sister for Christmas. Sound quality is even better than expected and she loves it

I originally bought the flip 4 but after 1 1/2 years it stop charging. So i exchanged it for this one and it sounds great. The only complaint that I have is that the power button is a little hard to press but other than that it is a very good speaker.
