This is loud for a small area only, but there is no bass or treble, so some music doesn’t sound quite right. I would not recommend this speaker.

If you want a speaker for choral music, please check other options. At the time of purchase, I had wanted to compare it to a Bose speaker, but none of those were set up in the store. I now wish that I had waited! My prior speaker was a Bose that had a fabulous sound - until it wore out. The JBL was on sale, but I would not buy another even if reduced 90%! :(

This was labeled as EXCELLENT on the website. The bass is bustedddddd. Speaker is trash and playing any one song would have told the geek squad this was not resalable. I’m so frustrated and have lost all trust in the open box program at Best Buy. It’s not refurbished. It’s advertised as excellent condition. I would assume someone bought it and changed there mind and returned it. Best Buy should be doing the due diligence of checking the condition of these returns before reselling them as “excellent.” And now!!! I can’t even return it online (where I purchased it). I have to go to a physical store to return it. Adding insult to injury. I only have a bike and Best Buy is so far from me! That’s why I ordered online. Unbelievable I have to go through this hassle now. And now the speaker brand new is on sale for less than I paid for this “excellent” open box speaker. What a mess. I recommend jbl flips as awesome speakers. I do not recommend Best Buy’s open box products.

So I returned it for the xtreme 4 which was on sale and that one sounds GREAT!

Posted .Thank you for sharing us your experience with our JBL Flip 7 and JBL Xtreme 4. If ever you encounter the same issue, please try the following steps. Initiate a power cycle by pressing and holding the power button for 30 seconds while it is unplugged from a power source. Use a different charging cable/power adapter. Also, while it's uncommon, try a different wall outlet to be certain the issue is not with the outlet. Lastly, sand and dirt can get into the product's charging port. Clean the charging port with compressed air. Feel free to contact our customer support for further assistance.
Terrible battery life and hollow sound.

Returning it today, so sad I loved my Flip5.
