Decent speaker with ok sound quality that's ruined by bugs and glitches. This speaker has connection issues with WiFi, the sound is flat with 0 bass, and it only gets song requests right about half the time. I bought a HomePod and it blows this speaker away on every level.

Bought for my dad as a gift to use while working around the house. Great to use within WiFi range and easy to talk to with Google assistant

Great sound for the small size! Takes a little while to boot up and get online, but Google Assistant works well once it does.

Lot of sound in a small package. Combined with another JBL which gave me my own surround sound. Nice.

I briefly experienced the popping and crackling others mention, but it went away after just a day or two, and only occurred at relatively high volume. I've had it about a week now and it works great. Sound quality is good at lower volumes, but starts to degrade to just okay at volumes above level 6 (Google Assistant) or so. It can go a lot louder than it ought to be played. Would be nice if JBL had moved to USB-C for charging, or better yet offered a charging base like the UE Boom. Support for faster charging would also be nice. If UE were to add Chromecast/GA to their Boom line (initially Alexa only) that would be a very nice alternative to the JBL Link family. But at this point I know of no comparable alternatives available yet for a portable, rechargeable, waterproof Chromecast/GA speaker. Overall I am very happy with it.
