It glitches, skips and distorts at random in that mode! I havn’t even tried it with the boombox version from JBL

You may also shut down unused Bluetooth devices away from other sources of wireless signals that could overlap your connection, such as Wi-Fi signals from Wi-Fi routers. Additionally, you can unpair or forget to refresh the Bluetooth settings and try to reset the unit. If this issue remains, please contact our customer support for further assistance with your unit.

Outdoors such as family barbecues and beach not so much. Also if you have a toddler around they love the light show, however that cause allot of dropping and damaging.

But to have a custom light show, you have to use the app. I’ve been having issues with the app including failing to connect to the speaker with it.
