Great sounds lacks some battery life! Although the light show is very cool!

Despite the lukewarem reviews I really wanted to like this. I am not a big Audiophile so I thought, how bad could it be? Turns out, pretty bad. Was so pretty to look at but sounded like a tin can. Took it back, exchanged it for a 30$ speaker that I swear, sounds better and used the rest of the money to get LED lights somewhre else.

I bought the speaker on a spirit of the moment type of situation, it's been nothing but entertaining and everyone that see's it wants one!

The aesthetics of the speaker are awesome. Sound quality is acceptable.

Looking for a wireless speaker to use outside that was small. Not using outside because looses connection when too far from source. Decided to use it in the house, especially when moving from room to room. Works great!

As a person who has worked with the demos of the JBL and Jambox brands, as well as others such as Logitech, Bose, and HMDX, I can verify that for the money this is the best speaker for the price if you are lucky enough to find out about it. My experience with JBL first started with our demo JBL Charge vs the demo Jambox. I must say, the JBL not only had much louder volumes (say 2-3X), but also much better clarity. Not only was the Jambox pitifully quite in the store when maxed out, other people complained that the sound was horrible due to the distortion and that the Jambox sounds like it was about to die. Jambox has had many reliability issues such as with Bluetooth, and the Mini that was tempting due to its metal frame was so unreliable I have never yet found a working demo of the Jambox Mini in BestBuy, Microsoft Store, or Target. The Charge is completely different than the more popularly known Jambox, with a sound that rivals the Bose Soundlink Mini and the Logitech UE Boom. As I was debating about whether to buy a Jambox Mini for its durable, colourful, and portable frame, or a JBL Charge Shadow, I found out about the just released JBL Pulse. With the same sound profile as the JBL Charge but with better bass response and wattage for higher volumes, and a Price similar to the Soundlink Mini but better sound, the answer was clear. I promptly ordered one for in store pickup, and it was definitely the best value I have gotten on Audio Equipment. It is so loud that not only does it completely fill a 2000+ square foot house (tested at friend's houses) with less than half volume, but also it can still be clearly heard at volume level 1-2 in across a quiet bandhall or other large room. There is no doubt that you can fill up an empty gymnasium with this guy. The lightshow has decent options, the Musicflow app is where the real magic is though. With many more colour options and speed options which are remembered by the device and switch instantly and fluidly when selected, my only wish was that the customization would go more in depth such as 64-bit colour customization or 8x8 custom pixel art images (as it uses a 8x8 grid of leds). The pixel style imparted by the fabric and grille works very effectively, and only occasionally can you tell that there are just 64 individual leds. It plays for a great amount of time when the lights are off, of course the point is to play with the lights on which has a more limited play time. It can still make it through a school day with battery still left, but it is a close cut. The lack of carry sleeve is a minor complaint but I just use my Sol Republic Master Tracks carry pouch. The use of the lights for volume indication is also very nice too. If you are looking for a portable speaker and are considering options such as Bose or Jambox, don't. Instead, get the JBL Pulse

The product is cool looking in the dark. The sound is comparible to other nice brands. But remember it won't knock your socks off.
