    Good Sound Bad connection

I was pleased with the sound and fit in the ear. However, with a Nexus 5x the bluetooth connectivity was terrible. Using the headphones with the phone in my pockets: the sound would be choppy and occasionally drop the bluetooth connection. Bought these with the plan to use them during my commute on the train so this bad bluetooth connection is a huge deal breaker for me. Do not suspect the phone has the issue because I use other bluetooth on a daily basis with it and there is no problem with the connection. Also, bad design to have the volume up button on the headphones be used for making/accepting calls and for song skipping. Led to a few accidental calls.

Thank you for your feedback. We typically recommend having the device in your front pocket as opposed to your back pocket for the best connection. When the device is being blocked by your body, a wall, etc-you will experience a poor connection. If you are still having issues with the connection, please reach out to our JBL Customer Service for technical support, thank you. JBL

The bluetooth is really nice. But the sound of these are really lacking. I pretty much have to have my volume maxed while working out.

I Expected Much Better Than This

So I waited a while to submit my review this way I can properly test out the product with current and old devices. My primary device for music is and iPod Touch 4th Gen and current phone is iPhone SE. These Bluetooth buds performed poorly with both of my devices. Nothing different. I connected and reconnected and even removed the 'pairing' from my devices and started fresh. 1) Design. This is a good design and I love the compact controls and the wire type it uses. But the one issue with DESIGN is that the weight is all on one side LEFT and tends to slide down that way. You do not get a clip with this to help hold it in place. 2) Battery. Well it says somewhere around 6hrs and for me I generally received only 4hrs or so. I don't listen at the highest volume because the buds are somewhat noise cancelling (meaning you don't want to eat with them in your ears) and when I do I'm at work on equipment. It does charge quite fast though. 3) Cost. Price is fair IF it worked properly. I didn't mind the $99 I paid for the slick design and what it claims. I'm not one to spend $200 or more for something similar with a more known name brand that is. 4) Connectivity. I have no problem connecting this to my devices ever. Power on and then it connects without a hitch. The issue is that the Bluetooth Buds must be in line with the device it's currently connected to and nothing can be blocking it. No clothes nor your body can be in the signals way. What will happen? The Bluetooth Buds will connect in and out constantly. This happens when I simply turned my head to the LEFT. I even added a clip to my iPod so I can wear it outside my pockets for less interference and that doesn't help much. My best solution was to velcro my iPod to my caps underside of the bill. I never lost connection then but it was heavy on my head and became uncomfortable. Then again, it was only 1' from the Bluetooth device. If you wear your Music Device on your arm that will likely remedy the issues as well. 5) Sound Quality. Sounds okay, I mean it's not bad by any means. That is when you have a solid connection. It doesn't have a lot of bass though. That can be fixed in your Music Devices settings of course but I dealt with it. Overall I gave it a terrible rating because of the issues to maintain a solid connection. The issue is the Bluetooth signal just isn't strong enough to pass through solid objects. I gather it's using old Bluetooth Tech and that could be why. Newer Tech can transmit more data much faster and over longer distances etc which resolve the main issues this has. I tried to deal with it for over a month but it's just so annoying. I ended up buying a cheap pair for $25 elsewhere and so far it seems to work just fine without issues. Longer battery life but not as sleek of a design as the JBL. I also went against the negative reviews here thinking maybe it was the user but I was wrong. I'm very much a tech guy. My suggestion is to go to your closest mart and buy an inexpensive pair that will do the job the way it's supposed to be. Now to see if I can return it, at the very least for credit.

The size of the ear piece fits very snug and I've never had a problem with it falling out like I've experienced with other headphones. The battery life is phenomenal and Bluetooth connection works great.

    Really Good Headphones

I am really happy with these for the most part. You can workout and get really hot and sweaty and they will stay in your ears. The charge lasts for several days. My only issue with them is that sometimes the connection is not the greatest. It can be spotty at times and my phone is right by me. Overall, this is a really good product.

Good headphones and Sound, battery not sufficient

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Headphones have great sound, the only real complaint I have is that the battery life claims that it will hold for 8 hours of continuous use with 20 hours of standby. I have found that 4 hours of continuous use, with a full charge, will be about all you get. I would have given this a 4 star review had the battery lasted longer than it does. I was looking for an alternative to wired headphones for when I am on my feet shooting (I'm a photographer) for 6-8 hours, this one doesn't live up to the hype of the battery life. Other than that, sound is amazing and comfort is good. I would give this a "YES" in the "I would recommend this to a friend" had the battery life been the equivalent to what they advertise.

I love these headphones for working out. It took a bit of adjustment, but I learned how to do the little twist to keep them in my ears. However, I would have given them five stars if they had just a bit more bass. But for the money, they are a good buy.

Great for running, however, you do have to keep your phone on the same side of your body as the controls. I would say they are a bit bulky but don't get in the way like being hard-wired to your phone. JBL always has quality sound!

These earbuds are the first wireless ones that actually stay in my ear while running. (I only use one ear so that I can hear traffic with the other ear). The sound is good and clear. My only complaint is that there is not an audible way to know how much charge is left on the battery.

I'm a sucker for retro reflective functionality and I wanted to give the sound quality a try due to the many good reviews I've seen. But, these didn't quite do it for me. my ears are small so fit was originally a problem with the silicone tips which came installed. After installing the smaller tips fit was still a bit uncomfortable and the sound quality suffered as a result these sounded hollow despite what I had expected from the reviews I had read.

It takes some time to know how to wear these headphones, but after getting comfortable with them, you can enjoy the quality. You can't sense the real quality if they don't fit to your ears, so it is important to know how to wear them.

Headphones have to be pushed in ear and held at specific angle to achieve quality sound. I have a pair of Panasonic Extended Bass wired earbuds that are the same way. I also have a cheaper pair of Panasonic earbuds that sound great! These Steph Curry's are going back to Best Buy for a refund. I'm a home studio recording engineer and I have a good ear for quality sound. The JBL's have a good sound but like I said, you have to hold them at the right angle to achieve good sound. I'm very disappointed because I also bought a set for my girlfriend and gave them to her for her birthday. She seems to like her set but she doesn't have the need for loud and bass like I do. I told her to fully listen and analyze them before the return date expires. I paid $40.00 each on deal of the day. Definitely not worth the regular $100.00 each price!
