These Buds Will Be Your Best Bud

The JBL Tune 130NC Series are by far one of the best pairs of wireless headphones I have owned in a long time. The charging case is sleek and completely unique from the standard Bluetooth bud case shape, same for the buds themselves. The battery life is phenomenal for both the buds and the case, I only have to charge my case about once or twice a week. I'd say more often twice a week. , Keep in mind I always have at least a single bud in I mean that on a literal level. If I'm awake, music is on. I'm a person that goes through multiple sets of headphones every 3 months or so. I lose a lot of things. So, I find it extremely helpful and just downright awesome that the 130NC series has a downloadable app, inside that app if you press a button the headphones make a high pitched screeching beep so that you can locate them. That's why this is one of the pairs of headphones I've held onto the longest. The downloadable app comes with a lot more settings as well. One of the settings that blows the competition out of the water is how uou can switch your headphones from ambient aware to noise cancelling, then from noise cancellation to something called talk thru mode so you can have a conversation whilst still bumping your tunes. There are other brands that have attempted to duplicate this, but I have not utilized a pair of headphones to this day that have more functionality to these specific settings than a pair of JBLs. Now, let's move onto the immediately noticable and most apparent functionality of the JBL app; the EQ. JBL's EQ customization is top notch. The EQ has various pre-set options that you can put it on as well as a customizable EQ setting. If you purchase these headphones, you should try them in their standard out of the package mode before downloading the app and setting up your preferred EQ options. You'll notice that a pair of JBL headphones on their own without any sort of EQ already sound absolutely gorgeous. The bass is bumpin', the treble is clear and crisp. The EQ generously provided by the JBL app just gives most modern JBL headphones that extra edge to blow away the competition, who all have played follow the leader and made their own attempts. Unfortunately, they've all fallen behind the innovation of JBL. I've only noticed three things that bothered me when using these phenomenal buds. The first thing that I had an issue with was the inability to change the EQ settings when only using a single bud, to utilize the EQ you are required to have both buds out of the case and hooked up to your Bluetooth. Sometimes this can be inconvenient when attempting to quickly go from noise cancellation to talk thru mode, because JBLs are pretty loud even with the volume turned down, so I still have trouble hearing with even a single headphone in. The second issue I found with the headphones is the inability to have them make their beeping locator sound if they aren't connected to your phone in that moment. I don't know about y'all, but I am notorious about not putting my buds in the case. Occasionally, this causes the buds to auto power off and I forget where I put them...This leads to a 30 minute session of tracking down an object the size of a dime. That entire time I'm questioning how one would make them traceable with them powered off. Finally, sometimes the JBL app has a slight lag to it. This leads to restarting the application a few times. Other than these 3 issues, which to many of you may not be an issue at all, these are well worth the $50 I spent on them and I can assure they will be for you as well. I've bought more expensive headphones that don't compare to these.

I recently received these buds as a gift, very thoughtful because JBL is a brand I like and have purchased for myself. They were purchased for $79.99 which is decent for quality buds. Firstly I love the case. It's small, more of a flat design that fits well in a pocket. The matte finish is nice as well, meaning it's not slippery to open the case or get the buds out. I used a $1 in the photo to show the size. The buds were charged out of the box which is cool, I was able to use them immediately. The fit was good, they stayed in my ear and weren't uncomfortable after a long period of time. There are a couple more tips to try, if needed. Also included is a usb-c charging cable. Music and movies sound great, and phone conversations are very clear. JBL never disappoints. I definitely would recommend these.

The buds themselves are pretty large which are great for glove-wearers like me during my commutes by train/bus. Buds came with three different earpiece sizes and I ended up using the smallest ones. They work although I wish there were a size between small and medium. The touch-buttons on each earbud work as intended to activate the noise modes, play/pause, and answering calls. Again, these are pretty large so great for glove wearers (easy to press). The noise-cancelling mode is just ok, definitely not on the level of some of the other higher end headphones, but at this price, it still helps cut out more than half the noise/drone from the train/bus engines. What surprised me was the active awareness mode, which acts as like an hearing aid effect, to amplify your surroundings while wearing the buds, which is very useful when walking down the sidewalk but still being able to hear if someone is talking to you or getting close. There's also a JBL app you can download to change music modes (equalizer), change the what each earbud button can do, check battery life, and ring the buds if you've lost them. The battery life has been great so far, with the earbuds equally draining. Overall, great value so far. I would definitely recommend for your first pair or again, glove-wearing commuters. Perhaps I'll look into a higher model next time for even higher noise-cancelling performance.

They are good when it comes to sound quality but I decided to wear them at work and at the gym it was hard for them to stay on. They are discreet and comfortable when I wear them to bed for a bit.

The sound emitted from the earbuds are great. The equalizer works well. The noise cancelling works well also. However, there are two issues with them: 1) They don't fit well in my ears, no matter which size silicone ear tips I use. I can't use them while running. Even using them while I eat a meal (from the simple act of chewing) the earbuds will fall out. 2) There is an issue with the charging of the left earbud. Sometimes, it won't charge. For some reason, I think the contacts aren't staying connected to the pins in the charging case. I've wiggled the left earbud in the case and make sure the blue LED lights up before closing the case, but when I check the battery level later, the level hasn't increased. My solution is to place a small piece of folded paper (4 folds) on top of the left earbud before closing the case so that the earbud is pressed down to the charging pins. Since I've been doing this, I haven't had any charging issues. Would I recommend these earbuds? No, because of the fit issues.
