Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our JBL Tune Flex has an open ear tip and rubber ear tips . You may choose the size of rubber ear tips that will perfectly fit your ear. Also, to achieve the best seal and secure fit, you must create a tight seal within your ear canal. To do this, angle the ear tip slightly downward to make it easier to insert into your ear canal, gently twist the earbud to fit it securely into the shape of your ear, and continue twisting the earbud into your ear canal. For further assistance, feel free to contact our customer support. JBL

Worst headphones I've ever used in its pricerange

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I've been using these as my primary headphones for the last 3 months, and normally use headphones in the $80-120 price range. I want to be as fair as possible in regards to what these do well, but I am not someone who writes reviews unless I have a reason to, and the reason I'm writing this one is not good, and I cannot recommend to potential buyers enough that if you are looking at exercise headphones at around $100, you should to look elsewhere. First, the pros to these headphones: I use JBL quite a bit, and I generally like their products. Their app works well (usually) and they are pretty durable for their price point. I can use JBL's daily for about a year before needing to replace them, which i think is the most you can expect for 100 dollar true wireless headphones. At 3 months, the headphones are still working, but as I will explain, I am still about to replace these, and probably try a non JBL product next time around. Battery life is pretty good. I use headphones at work, usually one ear in at a time and can make it all the way through an 8 hour shift without needing to switch the buds out. In this regard, no complaints at all. The sound quality is decent for its price range, and I've never had issues with them falling out of my ears during exercise. You can also use both buds in either ear, they fit well both ways. In some ways, wearing the right bud in the left ear and visa versa can be more comfortable and secure, funny enough. But both ways are perfectly fine. In an ideal world, that should be all you need for exercise headphones to be solid. Unfortunately, the sound quality does not excel, and exercise headphones staying in your ear is a bare minimum, not anything impressive. Con time: These things are TERRIBLE with connection. From the very first day I used these things, they have not connected consistently or well. I will lose Bluetooth connection from walking 5 feet away from my phone and turning my head the wrong way. I don't think this is due to damage from sweat as they have done this from day one, but it has certainly gotten worse as I have used them more, so I can't rule out poor sweat resistance. If you use one ear listening as I often do, you will be incredibly frustrated by how often the ear bud will be "connected," muting your phone but not producing sound. This delay in response can sometimes correct within seconds, but more often requires you to disconnect and reconnect your headphones to get the sound working. I can go on about this with several specific examples, but I think my point here is clear (I use a Samsung S21 ultra, and I have tested two other earbuds and did not have these issues. The Flexes are the problem) Another INSANELY frustrating but more niche issue I have with these headphones is with the app and it's touch controls. I don't like touch controls and always disable them on my earbuds. These headphones will be disabled from touch controls, and then every few days I will put the earbuds in and discover very quickly that touch controls have been turned back on. I have had to manually turn touch controls off at least 30 times in the 3 months I have owned these. If you like touch controls, then this may not be a problem, but if you are someone who ever needs to adjust their headphones at the gym or take them out to talk to someone, it is one of the most frustrating things I have ever experienced. I genuinely hope people see this review and take my advice when I say that you should not buy these headphones. Sure, ive used worse headphones, but they were a lot cheaper than a hundred bucks. Try literally anything else and you will be more satisfied with your experience.

Thanks for your feedback. This instance is sometimes caused by the quality of your source, depending on what you are listening to. You may check the music player app on your source device to see if Equalizer is engaged. If engaged, turn off the equalizer. If turning it off does not resolve the issue, turn it on again and adjust the EQ by boosting the bass to your liking. If you still find the bass insufficient, you can control the Equalizer through the JBL Headphones App to adjust and enhance the bass levels. Should you wish to increase the bass level of your JBL Tune Flex, you can use the App for this purpose. If you have already tried this and remain unsatisfied with the bass, rest assured that we're always looking for ways to improve, and your feedback will be forwarded to our development team for future improvement. Thank you for your feedback. We understand that our JBL Tune Buds didn't meet your expectations. To take advantage of the Active Noise Cancelling feature, ensure proper fit since it relies heavily on a good seal in the ear to effectively block out ambient noise (ear tip settings included in the JBL Headphones App). You also need to make sure to turn off Ambient Aware feature. If you need more assistance, please contact customer support. JBL

We appreciate your feedback. Please check the audio settings on your device to confirm that the 'JBL Tune Flex' is selected as the default output audio device during calls. You can also try using the earbuds on a different device to determine if the issue is with the earbuds or with the source device. For no sound issue, dust or debris can block the ear tip screen and cause low volume. We recommend cleaning the contact pins on the case and earbuds using a cotton swab with alcohol. These pins are sensitive to dust. Please ensure the pins are dried before placing them back on the case.
