The app is a big help with setting them up to your likings and a big plus with the ability to make a loud sound to locate a lost earbud. I needed it the first week i got them, lol.

Pairing is easy and it hooked up to my phone with no problem, but you should install JBL Headphones app to "fine tune". I used the largest ear plugs and wear it loose (too tight in makes ANC ineffective). Moreover, I disabled touch function on both sides to avoid mis operation. Bass is a bit more especially on "open" mode even I disabled EQ. ANC is OK for the train and bus and it blocks out some.

This is a minor one, but if you're using some legacy devices (2016 or earlier), when watching videos and opening other applications at the same time, bluetooth stops working, and have to restart bluetooth pairing process. Pros: Battery life is good, getting 4-5 hrs on a full charge.

For the price, they have fairly decent noise cancellation and the sound quality overall is great. Would buy again.
