Took this one back and got the jbl boombox and WOW this thing is loud and has tons of bass.... Get the boombox or extreme 1 over this you’ll be much happier

Great sound from a small speaker

I really couldn’t tell you which one is “better”. My family changed our mind from time to time. Overall the Bose resolve+ seems to be better built and had a better “quality” sound but at times I felt the JBL hit a little harder and sounded better on certain songs. However when using a speaker outdoors you can’t really feel the “hit” so ultimately the Bose edges the JBL out in most categories

And checking on the other larger JBL models. I'm saddened. Looks like I'm changing to the Bose Soundlink Max. The JBL came with a durable strap that actually got in the way mostly. It was heavy and because of the shape. rolled over way too easily. Because of the rolling.. I was worried about damaging the power cord. The connection was scratchy at times. I had to turn off and on again to get decent connection. Bulky and clumsy build. Old style plug not type C. Weak.. scratchy connection at times. If you want to move up from Charge 5. I suggest trying the Bose Soundlink Max. I'm loving my upgrade. Bose Max plus Geek protection. Sure *sounds* good to me.

We also recommend connecting to a different device or using another application to play audio. And for the connection issue, it’s possible that another device is connected to your speaker. Please identify the source device and disable its Bluetooth. For further assistance, please contact us.

Not that great for its size

I thought I'd try it out, but was very disappointed in the low end sound. It had nice crisp highs, but my JBL charge 2 has better sound for the low end for sure.

But, hey its bluetooth, and its a little tube with a little amp and little speakers. One can't expect high fidelity. Still, for a portable speaker, I'm well satisfied.
