And checking on the other larger JBL models. I'm saddened. Looks like I'm changing to the Bose Soundlink Max. The JBL came with a durable strap that actually got in the way mostly. It was heavy and because of the shape. rolled over way too easily. Because of the rolling.. I was worried about damaging the power cord. The connection was scratchy at times. I had to turn off and on again to get decent connection. Bulky and clumsy build. Old style plug not type C. Weak.. scratchy connection at times. If you want to move up from Charge 5. I suggest trying the Bose Soundlink Max. I'm loving my upgrade. Bose Max plus Geek protection. Sure *sounds* good to me.

We also recommend connecting to a different device or using another application to play audio. And for the connection issue, it’s possible that another device is connected to your speaker. Online research shows numerous issues with the power supply failing on this item. I charged it up one time, ran the battery down listening to some slipknot, slayer, metallica, etc,, went to charge it again, and nothing. No lights, no power button, just a giant paper weight now. It did have a really good amount of playtime, that one time.

Makes listening to music and podcasts through my phone a enjoyable experience no matter where I'm at in a large room or outside. It really does hold a charge all day.

I looked up different brands online, checked specs and features, and even then it was obvious this was what I wanted. The last thing was to listen to its quality in the store. When I heard the crisp, clear sound and the powerful bass, I was taking this speaker home with me. Its great for outdoor parties, by the pool or the beach. I walked around with the strap slung over my shoulder and had a great time.
