When the battery level reaches about halfway it instantly drops off to the low charge red light blinking. Then when I plug it in to charge, it jumps right up to half charged. It seems like only half of the battery is working. I had read other reviews who had the same issue, I wish I would have taken them more into consideration. I bought this for my daughter so we would have a nice speaker to take on weekend camping trips. It sounded like a good idea since it was supposed to be able to also recharge other devices plugged in to it, but with the poor battery life it will only work itself for 2 or 3 hours. The quality of sound is great for a small speaker, but it was advertised to have up to 15 hours of battery life. Anybody looking for a speaker to enjoy on days away from an electrical outlet should definitely look elsewhere.

However, after about 18 months of little use the speaker would suddenly lose power even with a full charge on the battery. After searching the web and reading several forums this is a common complaint. I contacted Harmon Kardon today and since it has been over a year they denied to replace the defective speaker. As a consumer to spend over $300 you would think it would last more than 18 months. DO NOT BUY THIS SPEAKER!!! If this review does not change your mind and you are still considering purchasing then at least buy the extended warranty from Best Buy to protect your investment. I just wasted over $600 because I was dumb enough to buy 2. Hope this helps someone from making the mistake I did.
