    My first Extreme worked great for 6 months and then just quit. After a short argument with my local Best Buy associate, they agreed to replace it. Again my Extreme worked great for 1 year. Now it won't hold a charge for more than 15 minutes. The charging indicator lights show 4 lights but it just shuts down. Needless to say I'm very disappointed. My opinion is, that the Extreme is a WAY overpriced less than mediocre piece of equipment....

    Close but no cigar

    I was close to clicking on buying two of them but the use of a non-standard charger stopped me. I have enough power bricks to sink a boat so I didn't want yet another two of them to try to remember where they hooked up to. Change it to a standard charging system and it would be golden.

    Great sound - poor quality construction

    Got mine about a year and a half ago. Sounded great. Then about 9-10 months in the battery started to run down more rapidly, hardly ever holding a charge. No problem - i'd just use it plugged in. Plugged it in this weekend for some tunes at the beach condo, and now it won't even turn on. Power button would not come on even though the LED lights on the front were on. Called JBL - no help. Called Best Buy - no help. Won't buy this brand again. $299 is too much for a bluetooth speaker that only lasts 18 months.

    in the earlier stages the speaker worked fine ..that is only for 1-2 months..but now the battery only lasts for 2 hours maximum..sound quality is good but not the battery..please buy it at your own risk..not happy with this product at all..first speaker from JBL which was not worth purchasing..better would be a BOSE speaker of the same price or higher.. i want to replace it asap..

    I am really not sure why this got such good review. The sound quality was lack luster at best, if you turned to full volume with became distorted on some types of music. Not at all the quality I expect for this price point. I believe you could spend far less and receive as good or better results, taking mine back today.

    Do not waste your money

    Do Not Buy... the battery will stop Gooding a charge at best after a year and a half... search online for xtreme batter issues. Jbl customer service is a joke... they will not do anything but offer you a 10% coupon on a new purchase. You would think after sending $300 it would last. Do not buy JBL/Harmen... they do not back up their products.

    After ONE YEAR Battery Dead

    I want to express how disappointed this speaker is when it comes to its battery. This speaker is expensive and battery dies right after a year. I would consider other options before I buy this unit, unless you want to buy a new speaker every year or but a generic battery replacement and put it in yourself.
