Nice all around speaker. Nice volume and bass. Doesn’t distort much. I even have it connected to my tv instead of using a sound bar.

I purchased this to replace my Pill XL (recalled). First I bought Fugoo, but returned it. Sound was kind of muffled. So I bought this instead. Not quite as loud as Pill XL for outdoors in big areas. But the sound quality is better. Good battery life and water resistant. I am satisfied. It was on sale, $50 off. After recall money, I got a better speaker and pocketed $75.

TL, DR: No doubt the best money you will spend. Impossible to not love the speaker unless you get a lemon. I have tried the UE Megaboom, UE Boom, UE roll, Jbl Charge 2+, the Beats Pill, Bose Soundlink. All of the other bluetooth options I had available to me I didn't bother testing them out because the ones listed above were supposedly the next best speakers in their class. So while researching I found out that the JBL xtreme was sure to not disappoint and it will be the best 300 you will spend on a speaker. So I decided to give the speaker a chance and make sure I keep my receipt in my wallet because I thought for sure I'm taking this back. I am glad that this speaker probed me wrong. The bass sounds completely balanced and hits like a mini subwoofer. Not tinny or overly punchy as pill, but just right. The highs are extremely clear and even at full volume I didn't hear any distortion whatsoever. I use my Samsung Galaxy S6 and my Itouch 5 when using this speaker and most of the songs I'm playing are from YouTube, which sometimes isn't the best quality and Pandora. To never here distortion is perfect. The cons of the speaker which may bother some but not me is that when playing songs off of your ipod, the speaker sometimes skips the first second or half a second of the beginning of the song. Other reviewers said something about DSP, but I don't really know how that works so I won't speak on it. The other issue is the when playing the speaker in its normal position, it sounds as if the places the tweeters near the bottom of the speaker making it fire towards whatever the speaker is sitting on (desk, mantle, table etc). Again, this doesn't bother me neither because if you tilt the speaker back you will hear the fullness of what this speaker offers. As most may know, I currently work as a courier in a very loud diesel truck and I needed something that was going to offer durability if it drops, semi waterproof for rainy days or accidents, and definitely long battery life. I'm only work about 6+ hours a day and I played the speaker at about 75% and I only one light from the battery went off. Even with all the rap, house, trap, and jazz bass going on, this speaker lasted. I've only had for a week so I can't speak on the long term, but I will say I have gladly thrown my receipt away because this speaker will be with me for a very very long time. If you read all the way down to this point then you for sure are just like me when it comes to audio and I thank you for reading my review. I really like the speaker, the sound is great, it has good bass as well as nice crisp sound, battery life is great too. I would 100% recommend this to anyone. The charge 3 is also a great product for those of you who don't wanna quite spend the money on this, but I am personally happy i spent the extra money and got the xtreme.

Great sound quality. Best sound out of JBL portables, although it is larger in size, but not too big to be cumbersome.

I sent my Beats Pill XL back to Apple through the voluntary recall program. I replaced it with this Awesome JBL Xtreme. I loved my Beats Pill XL but the JBL Xtreme blows it away in every category. It had more bass, better mid range and clearer highs. It also plays much louder and the battery lasts longer. I love my new JBL Xtreme!

This little device puts forth a big sound. My son loves the quality and the ease of use.

Use to play music at outdoor work location. Very loud and clear. Battery goes about 8 hours not 15 as advertised

If I could show you my YouTube history on how many reviews I watch and study for a speaker for months but thankfully my search is over, Perfect sound, easy to control, durable with water resistant and compatible with another speaker which I will be buying later but the volume is loud enough for a room or two

Having had my JBL Charge 2+brake on me after 2 years and only one to many drops, I decided to try out some better ones to replace it. First my brother suggested the Bose Sound Link Mini. There lack of bass and quiet sound really was not a replacement for my charge. Felt fragile and like a single drop would brake it. So I returned it and wanted a Beat Pill XL but I guess they blow up and were recalled so i settled on the Pill+. Still the sound quality was not like my Charge. then i bought the new JBL Xtream that was everything I ever wanted. kinda sucks its so bug but for the quality of sound and the durability of it, it has traveled with me camping, hiking, in the sun, in the rain, to work, to parties, wedding receptions, the beach, and of course in my bathroom for shower tunes. I'm so happy with it i have been itching to buy another to use there linking abilities for even more enjoyment of this phenomenally well made product. Would i recommend it? my friends who had the Bose and Pill XL both have switched to the JBL Xtream now with me not saying a word but the speaker just playing

This wireless speaker proves that big things come in small packages! Even in an outdoor setting, there is a booming sound that can be heard, clearly, from at least 50-60 yards away... Great levels, great bass, and treble... A little pricey, but if you care about high quality sound, this is an awesome product.

We have two other smaller JBL speakers and they are great. This one is big and badder then the rest. It is louder with the same great should. It is water proof and we use it around the pool. No problems when it rains or water is splashed. It says six feet have not tried that.

Small speaker with fantastic great sound. Easy to pair to your cellphone and nice color.

I bought this speaker while in Florida for a beach wedding. We wanted loud enough sound to hear the wedding processional over the ocean. This thing was awesome! It allows you to pair other JBL speaker to it so you can have surround sound. I was going back and forth between this JBL speaker and the Harman Karden speaker that was $300 more. I am so happy I made the JBL choice. Definitely worth the $299.

This speaker sounds amazing! The amount of bass this puts out is crazy for the size!

This has amazing sound quality. We use it around our pool and it has the ability to get wet and still function which was a draw for us. Great for beach use or on a boat. Connects to our cell phone via Bluetooth for ease of use.

I love the portability of the speaker w/the carring strap.The sound is wonderful. At low volume it's cLear and still has good base. High volume i's awesome. It is clear with no static or break ups. I'd recommend this speaker to anyone who loves music as much as I do.
