Being a JBL and having owned multiple in the past, I went with a bigger investment like this one thinking I would get amazing sound. This was not the case. The sound quality is okay. It’s really just a speaker, there’s nothing fancy about the sound. There’s NO bass whatsoever. Anyone would think since it’s such a huge speaker, and JBL is owned by Harmon Kardon that there would be a decent amount of bass, but the bass is below subpar, below decent. Even with the bass all the way up on the JBL app, I could not get anything out of it. The speaker gets loud, real loud, but that’s all it’s good for. A speaker like this with the type of sound quality it produces is suitable for casual family get togethers, small events, or even to have in home while cleaning, moving things around, etc. I would not recommend this product. It’s far too costly for what it produces. It seems they put all their efforts into the majorly costly Boombox 2, but who has enough to go with that? It’s so huge and bulky, but even that can lack bass. JBL has disappointed me. I returned without looking back.
