    A Huge Step Forward

I remember trying out the first iteration of the Epic Air True wireless earbuds and not being very impressed at all. But after going back to the drawing board and making two more updated versions, I think we are at a very happy place in our lives as true wireless users. JLab has put together a set of earbuds that not only are comfortable to wear and sound great, but they also last forever. I can't get over how they've managed to pack so much power into something so compact. 70 hours of total playtime on a single full charge. 15 hours per use and 55 more hours waiting in the charging case. It also comes with enough ear gummies to fit any ear lobe. Plus the case has wireless charging to eliminate the need for a charging brick. However, if you need to hook it up to your laptop, there's a connected USB attached to the charging case that folds away neatly( 70 flippin' hours people!!). It's water and dirt resistant and there's also active noise cancellation built in. There are 3 different listening modes that allow for Bass boost, Movie Mode and a mode that allows you be more aware when you're out on a street jog. Appropriately called Be Aware Mode. The Wear Detect sensor stops playback on your tunes when you take your earbuds out of your ear. There's much done right here. A major improvement over previous iterations, and even surpassing other big named earbuds on the market. The JLab Air ANC app allows you to customize your listening experience on the fly, while keeping on the go, but the touch controls are easy and responsive if you just need a quick change up. The only qualm I have, is the charging case is a little too big for my liking. But I understand, considering the size of the earbuds and attached hooks. Way to go JLab! Keep bringing the noise. I definitely recommend these at the price of $149.99

    Great Value

My collection of wireless earbuds continues to grow, and JLAB's continues to impress me. I just got a The JLAB Epic Air ANC earbuds, and not decided to get and review the Air Sport ANC also. I've had their Air Executive's for more than a year, when I tried the new Air Epic Air ANC, I couldn't stop from also getting the Sport model also. I was so impressed with the Epic Air ANC earbuds I wanted compare them. One of the great things with the JLAB earbuds, is they come with 6 different sizes of bud tips, my favorite, by far is the memory foam Cloud Buds (a light blue color, all others are a black silicone). The Cloud buds form a nice sound tight fit in my ears, and they better conform to various ear cannel shapes/sizes. Both buds had the same earbud tips. The sport earbuds charge life is quoted to be 12h with ANC on and 15h with ANC off, further the case can recharge the buds 3 times for up to 45h-55h depending on the use of ANC. The amount of ANC can be dialed up or down with JLab Air ANC app, it can also dial up or down the "Be Aware" functionality (allows you to hear surrounding sounds). My air executives has both features, but the ANC/"Be Aware" can only be turned on and off. I thought tinkering with the setting was a good idea, however in testing I found I liked both the best turned all the way up. I tried listening to my television with music on and the ANC did a good job of canceling out the TV sound, when switching to "Be Aware" turned all the way up I could make out some voices from the TV but not enough over the music (at about 70% volume), turning the music down to 50% helped, but but the "Be Aware" sound level also decreased. With the music paused, the "Be Aware" help boost the TV so I could hear it with the earbuds in my ears. Be Aware works but I when listening to music it can't completely overcome the music's volume. This could have to do with the microphones (the JLAB EPIC AIR SPORT ANC earbuds have 3 separate microphones, all visible), when using with my phone, in making a call, I found I had to turn up the volume, but I could hear myself clearly, I ask the caller how I sounded and was told I was very clear, but so were some background noises around me, they could make out what I was listening to on the television. But I felt my conversation seemed perfectly normal. Given the nature of ear buds, they are going to pick up external sounds better than a highly directive microphone would. With ANC on the call was much better than with it off. Here both ear buds performed the same. Two other features of their app, is the ability to customize what feature tapping on the right/left (1,2,3 times) earbud controls. The are 6 tap controls, and 9 control functions, you choose. This is convenient, as I rather have track skip (rarely go back) than have a SIRI function. Not everyone will choose the same. The app also serves to update the earbuds firmware (which needed to be done when I first install the app). One other interesting feature you can turn on/off is auto play/pause - this pauses what your listening to if you remove the earbud from either ear (kind of a how can they tell question, but it works really well). When some one approaches me and I'm wearing earbuds, I'll frequently pull one out to hear better. This immediately pauses your music; a wonderful feature I'd not previously considered, and I don't need to remove both earbuds. Clever, both have these features, but the Sport earbuds take more effort to put on/take off, the ear loop does keep them in place. Now on to my usual headphone audition music Boston's first album and PF's DSOTM. Almost immediately I could tell that JLAB had improved the low end and high end of their earbuds. Much brighter highs and better bass, But my favorite new feature a 10 band equalizer as a pert of their app, with 4 storable settings. Yea! A little tweaking here and there and I had a nearly perfect sound stage, boosting where I wanted it. Improving the highs and lows substantially, some of the mid range, didn't tune quite as much as I hoped, but this was a big step-up from their executives earbuds. The Sports are very similar to Epic Air ANC in sound, I'd say there is a slight edge to the Epic Air, with a slightly clearer highs (IMHO), but the Bass and Mids sounding exactly the same, But the Sports have a longer battery life. The fade in/out of Foreplay/Long Time was beautiful, the quite passages had very nice separation, with distinct right/left sounds that mix together and grow toward the center. The building percussion was excellent and the voices were crisp, very enjoyable. Here I turned the ANC on and off, and there was very little change, the bass dropped off a little, maybe more with the Sport, Sound isolation is not perfect at eliminating background noise; but they much better than with ANC on than off. On to DSOTM my favorite critical listening passage is The Great Gig in the Sky, with the girls etherical voices, and wow did it sound great, wonderful separation, tight highs, but nit quite as good as the Epic Air ANC, but still excellent. The transition to Money was fantastic, the piano sounded nearly perfect, almost like I could feel the individual piano keys being struck. Very, very Impressive. To wrap up are these the best ANC ear buds, no. Are they good on a phone call, well Ok. Do the have the longest battery life. absolutely. Are they comfortable, yes but the Epic Air without the Ear loop is more comfortable, but for the Gym, or when running, I'd feel safer with the Sports. Is packaging nice/convenient, yes. Does their app help, most certainly. Do they sound good, yes, maybe even great! The auto play/pause is a great feature. And you can connect two pair JLAB Epic Air/Sports earbuds to one device at the same time, they both stayed connected at the same time (it did seem to confuse their app as to what was connected, image displayed based on first one re-connected), but the EQ worked fine for both simultaneously, a bonus I was hoping for but not expecting. In any case both are a great buy as far as I'm concerned.

    JLab Sets The Bar!

JLab makes some of the best high quality, value priced ear buds around, and the Epic Air Sport ANC are no exception. They are true wireless, Bluetooth 5 technology earbuds with a fixed earhook to keep them secure. The sound is quite good, clear highs and mids, solid but not thumpy bass. Music and podcasts come through clearly as does both ends of a phone call, something which most earbuds don't excel. The earbuds themselves are quite comfortable and STAY IN PLACE! I didn't have to fiddle with them once during workout sessions, or while walking or cycling. The earhook kept the buds in place and didn't interfere with my glasses. Oh, and I can now say with certainty that they are definitely sweatproof. Bluetooth pairing was quick and easy, no problems. There are voice prompts for everything. The earbuds are controlled by a tap panel on either earbud. The touch controls were twitchy at first, but a firmware update seems to have fixed the problem. The touch controls are a typical multi-touch system, one tap, two tap, three tap, long tap, etc. The really cool thing is that the multi-touch system is soft programmable. The app can disable or change the actions, so you can turn off what you don't need, or change it to a different function. I use the Epic Air Sports with an Android phone, ChromeOS laptop, and Windows gaming system. They were comfortable enough for a couple of hours on a stationary bike and for several hours on a regular road bike(NOTE: I don't normally advocate earbuds while riding, but I wanted to test them. No music playing, just ambient sounds). The Active Noise Canceling worked well on the stationary bike, and outsied walking. The Be Aware (ambient noise passthru) was great on the road, it actually cut wind noise without really cutting the road/auto noises. The Jlab app allows you to tailor the ambient noise passthru and the ANC to your liking or your particular situation. It also allows you to tailor the three selectable equalization programs. Speaking of comfort, the Cloud Foam tips not only worked really well at blocking out sound, but were exceptionally comfortable. The buds also come with S,M,L and M-long and L-long gel tips. Fitting should not be a problem. Finally, the battery life is absolutely best in class! I've been using the earbuds three to five hours a day for a week. I first went about 10hrs mixed ANC off, on, and 'Be Aware' modes before finally charging the earbuds. After charging in the case for the rest of the week at night, I still don't need to recharge the case. The case is a little larger than most earbuds, but go better than a week without needing to plug in, done deal. When you finally need to recharge the case, it is wireless charger compatible and has a short built in USB cable to plug into a charger. There are a couple of features that I didn't try, there is a very low latency movie mode, and there is a feature to stop playback if you remove the earbuds. The Epic Air Sports are definitely worth your consideration, especially given the price point or if you have had difficulty with fit in the past. Jlab has definitely raised the bar sky high with the Epic Air Sports ANC.

They did not last a month. From one day to the next the left side stopped charging. Then the right side. Thinking it was the usb connection, I bought a wireless platform. No Go!! It heated up on the platform in just 5 minutes. Left it for one hour- still not charged. Looking for receipt- checking warranty. Waste of money- should have gone with a more expensive brand.

Contains a huge deal breaking design flaw right out of the box! I expect that from Alibaba, but NOT J Labs. Especially not on a $100 product! Seriously J Labs; you actually MEANT to use a TWO INCH cable (with no longer pluggable option)? This buds case will be hanging from hotel wall jacks and sitting on dirty floors. And, now guaranteed to be left somewhere*. So come on J Labs: this is blatant cost cutting and disrespect of your loyal customers.....at its worst. (*RETURNED....hope it was worth that $.05!)

This is pretty good pair of earbuds given the price. I had a previous version and this is definitely an upgrade. The sound is great, the battery life is pretty good and it's nice that the case has an extra couple charges. I can wear them for 6 hours before the battery dies. They fit comfortably with multiple tips and the wraparound keeps them secure on jogs or while working out.. The different modes (audio passthrough, normal, sound blocking) all work well enough. I have run in a drizzle with these on and they are no worse for wear. Only a few minor drawbacks keep me from giving them 5 stars. One is that I like to switch between devices and they will automatically connect or aggressively try to pair with a device even if I don't want them to. There are no physical buttons, so the only way I have found to turn them off is to put them back in the case or turn off bluetooth on any device they want to pair with. The touch panels on the sides work OK once you memorize all the commands, but I would prefer physical buttons. Overall, they are a great choice for jogging or casual, convenient use.

If I had to pick a single phrase to describe these headphones, I think it would have to be "Feature rich." As I suppose is fitting for a piece of hardware named Epic, JLab seems to have set out to fit every possible feature, perk, and option they could think of into these things' casings. It's an impressive bit of engineering to be sure, but unfortunately one that doesn't always live up to the promise of getting absolutely everything you might want within a single set of earbuds. Like most earbuds in this form factor, they come tucked safely inside a hard carrying case that doubles as a charger/battery. I've seen a lot of these over the years, and I have to admit that the one you get here is pretty impressively thought out, if a little on the chunky side. The earbuds are held in place with magnets while charging, which means they tend to immediately snap into place when you're trying to put them away. A set of four small LEDs let you get information on the charging state of both the left and right buds as well as the case's internal battery, and the lid is secured with a combination of another strong magnet and an invisible soft latch built into the hinge. Flipping it over you'll find a permanently integrated reversible type-A USB cable for charging. It is only a few inches long and not quite flexible to avoid some awkward balancing acts when using it, but fortunately it's also complemented by support for QI wireless charging. The combined battery life of the earbuds and the case is advertised at an impressive seventy hours, and assuming the battery figures I get from their app are accurate I'm pretty sure most of it's in the case. The earbuds themselves are pleasantly solid in their construction, and come with a wide array of different options for fitting them to your ears. The flexible clips that hold them in place can be a little bit on the tight side if you have larger ears like myself, but once they were seated properly I found them to be quite comfortable. You get six pairs of replaceable tips to size them to you in the box, including one set of "cloud foam" ones that offer something close to a universal fit while blocking out a lot more ambient audio than the conventional silicone options. There are also no buttons to be found anywhere on the case - only a single large and easy to find touch sensor on each one that can respond to 1, 2, or 3 taps for a total of 6 commands that can be programmed in the companion app. The design seems more or less sweat proof with the exception of the two exposed charging contacts that are generally pointed towards the inside of your ear - but so long as you make sure to wipe them down before putting them in the case I don't think they're likely to be a problem. And in the event that you just need a hands free earpiece to take a call, either earbud can operate independently. Unfortunately it's now time to delve into their actual functionality as earbuds. And I'm afraid that here they do start to lose some ground. As basic tools to pipe audio into your ears, the earbuds are fine. Audio quality is slightly above average for something like this, which is to say that it's got enough bass response to distract from the slightly tinny sound that comes from having drivers this tiny providing sound. Where it starts to struggle is when you try to make use of the more advanced options, specifically the active noise cancellation and audio pass through modes. It tested this feature against a few of the more common types of noise that I'd usually be seeking to block out when I'm using earbuds: an air conditioner, a desk fan, engine noise, and wind noise. I found the noise cancellation had little to no effect on any of them. While you could tell it was there and doing something, it wasn't enough of a difference to have a sizeable impact on the listening experience. Switching to pass-through mode, which picks up and plays back ambient audio such as cars or shouting bikers to improve your situational awareness, was even more frustrating. The audio that came through was smothered by white noise and featured a substantial delay. It will do its job at making sure you can hear a car bearing down on you while you run around the neighborhood - but you pay for it. Given that both of these features cause battery life to drop precipitously once they're turned on, anyone who cares about these features is not going to be satisfied with what the Epic Air can offer. I'd recommend these to anyone looking for a rugged and long lasting set of sport earbuds to stow in their gym bags or take on longer excursions into the outdoors where the extended battery life of the case can be put to full use. Frequent travellers or audiophiles looking to eliminate ambient noise or listen to high quality music on the go might want to look elsewhere.

These earbuds have impressed me to the extent I am able to compare to other competitive ones out there in the market. Pros: Comfortable, lightweight, can't even tell that earbuds are in ears, reliable connection, autoplay and pause sensor, active noise canceling is significant and the ability to control it to meet your ambient awareness which makes it a safety feature to hear your surroundings. IP66 sweatproof, buttons are intuitive and customizable, and finally, the most-wanted feature is the wireless charging case and anther option to use the USB cable. Cons: None so far. I'm pleased to use it features everything needed in earbuds at affordable prices. Great earbuds and very comfortable with a huge battery, Thank you for the rubbery materials instead of plastic which makes it flexible and fits well.

JLab Epic Sport has a really good fit with a variety of ear tips makes these fit just right for about anyone. The charging case is smaller than others. The noise canceling and audio quality is one of the best for a true wireless sport device. The battery life is adequate with the noise canceling running all day, with this setting you get about 7-8 hours. The pairing between various devices is a bit cumbersome but you get used to it, it’s just not the best. Overall I recommend this product if you need good fitting truly wireless headphones. They’re affordable and do a great job at delivering audio on the go.

First and foremost, the biggest feature JLab gave these are...the ability to use the left independently! The left has a mic built in, so you can use it for both music and calls independent of the right. This is a huge feature if you use earbuds a lot for calls. And speaking of calls, the sound quality is excellent on both ends. In terms of sound for music, they meet all my personal needs, sure you can find better, but at a much higher price point. JLab also gives you the ability to tweak the sound profiles and set your own with EQ control. Battery life is exceptional, I used these on two different hour long workouts and the battery still showed 100%. Don’t expect class leading noise canceling for the price, though you will notice a difference when in noisy environments. The Be Aware feature makes you more aware of the environmental noises around you, this is especially good when wearing them outside. These JLab earbuds offer wireless charging, ANC, exceptional battery life, Bluetooth 5.0, a price that can’t be beat and a two year warranty. With all the features these JLab wireless earbuds offer, it makes it hard to overlook them for the big guys!

These headphones deliver awesome battery life, good sound, and pretty good active noise cancellation, too! I have been using these headphone for the last few days and they are the perfect fit for working out and drowning out exercise machine noise! These are an excellent compliment to any fitness enthusiast, especially if you perform a lot of workouts indoors on a treadmill, bicycle trainer, or other indoor equipment, these are a perfect mix of great battery, water/sweat resistance, and relatively inexpensive for working out. The noise cancellation is the weakest point of these earbuds, but they are noticeably better at blocking ambient noise than having no active noise cancellation, but still pretty close to the quality of ANC offered by some of their much more expensive competitors. The carrying case is nice and compact and packs enough extra charge to get most people through an entire week of use, with the added benefits of built in wireless charging and USB dongle to be able to top off on the go! I would highly recommend these active noise cancelling earbud for anyone who is looking for great battery and sound quality at an excellent price, that also have good active noise cancellation for exercising, yard work, walks, or other activities that may be too risky to use a $200+ pair of top end ANC earbuds. The sound quality, water & sweat resistances, and excellent battery life will provide you with a great value and an incredible experience!

I'll start by saying earbuds without any sort of hook mechanism just fall out of my ears, so that was a necessary feature for me. These hooks are pretty great, they don't make my ears more uncomfortable than you'd expect from having plastic resting on your ears (kinda like slightly heavy glasses) and I can wear them for long periods if I want to. Speaking of glasses, they work fine with my glasses, even when doing light activity like skate boarding. They don't push my glasses off or anything. They sounds pretty good. Bass is a little light but turning on the active noise cancellation brings the bass up to a better level, for some reason. That's basically all the ANC is good for though. It's way too weak to be used as actual ANC, but I didn't get these for that feature anyway. Over my many months of ownership I've noticed that these will sometimes randomly cut out for a second or two. No prompt, and this has happened through several firmware updates. Kinda blows, but they are still good enough for me to use. Speaking of firmware updates, the app is pretty much useless. You can customize the controls a bit but the settings and levels basically don't save and it's a little to complicated to motivate me to actually use them. I just use the stock settings to switch between ANC and not, as well as pausing, playing, skipping, and adjusting volume levels. Now for the controls. They're pretty responsive, though I often miss the capacitive zone the first time when trying to double tap to pause and have to try again. Might just be a me thing though. Doesn't feel uncomfortable to tap the buds. For $100 I might expect a little better ANC or a more consistent external software experience, but they get the job done.

So recently I took up running and my previous Jlab earbuds didn’t wrap around my ear so they’d slip out. I’m really enjoying my jogs which are only like two miles but a world of difference and comfort with these ear buds. They are pretty light, some would say “light as air” haha so if you want something that doesn’t feel weighted down these are great. In Jlab fashion they don’t fuss with cords and have built in the charging cable to the case which I always love. More companies need to adopt this perspective! The noise cancelling, microphone, and sweat resistance are top notch! Living in Texas you are bound to sweat and I wear a hat when I jog so it is splashing everywhere (at least I feel that way) so these JLabs are weathering well. The noise cancelling is almost too good that I have to be really aware when crossing a busy street. I don’t want to risk being hit by a vehicle. Lastly the battery life is amazing. I charged them once when I got them and haven’t had to charge them since. I am astonished because I’ve got other earbuds that require charging daily to maximize their full potential. These are great for work calls on the go, a stocking stuffer, graduation gift, or just a Tuesday “treat your self” gift.

These JLab Epic Air Sport EarBuds come in a small carrying/charger case that can easily go anywhere with me. I always have a problem with earbuds staying in my ears and these are great, as I can slip them around my ear and they never fall out! They come with a variety of tips for your ears to make sure the fit is very comfortable. I can easily go for a walk or work out and they stay in place. The sound that comes out of these are fantastic. When I go on the walkway next to the road, with noise cancelling there is no need to have the volume too high to drown out the traffic sounds. When out camping, I get at least 10 hours of listening on a single charge. If I run out of battery life with the earbuds, I can pop them into the charging case two or three more times and get a total of about 40 hours of listening time before I have to recharge the case again. What more could you ask for. A plus with this case is that the charging cord is attached to it. I can’t lose the cord and never have to be looking around for the cord to recharge! Another bonus is the app that you can download to your phone. You can adjust the sound with the equalizer, change the touch controls and even adjust the amount of noise cancellation you want.

They sound good, have great battery life (with an impressive charging case), and come with in-ear detection and the ability to use both or just one earbud (which I love for around the house stuff). Further, they have Active Noise Control, which, while not perfect, worked well for me. Lastly, and extremely important to me, they fit me well and are very comfortable. They come with plenty of tips, so you “should” also be able to find a good fit. All in all, I like these buds, what they do, how they do it, and I think they are a great value.

Very Good Earbuds for the price

I purchased these a little over 3 weeks ago so this is based on this short timeframe. The first pair I purchased was DOA for the right ear so they immediately went back to the store and I picked up a replacement. Here is my full review based on this second pair: Ease of setup: These were very easy to pair with the phone and immediately start listening. The app for these earbuds is useful as it allows you to customize the touches to perform the various functions as well as update the firmware. I suggest immediately updating the firmware as it does resolve some of the disconnect problems. I also shut off the auto play/pause sensor as I think that function also created issues, plus I don't use this functionality. Sound: These earbuds do a good job at their price point. They tend more toward the mid until you get into the app and work through the equalizer. It has some bass but bass heads will be disappointed as it doesn't give a real deep and rich bass. It's good enough for my uses as I have better headphones for when I want real quality listening. Bluetooth connection: I saw a number of complaints on drop outs while listening and complete disconnection. I have not seen much of this over extended listening and workouts except when I first used them as I did not update the firmware and the firmware seems to make a difference. I may have had one or two over these three weeks since the firmware update but nothing that really is a show stopper and nothing that I haven't seen on other wireless headsets that are more expense. Active Noise Cancelling (ANC): I had no expectations on this functionality actually being useful and I was spot on in my assumption. Good ANC requires a lot of processing which requires power and a wireless headset like this would have to sacrifice that much battery life to get good ANC. I would call this ANC passive as long as you have the correct sizing in for the buds, otherwise it will just leak all kinds of sounds in. Since I use them mostly for running outside, this is not a deal breaker for me as I want some noise while running. The Be Aware function is not necessary and I don't use it. Application: This is a handy application where you can set your own EQ to get some good sound out of it, update your firmware and set your controls. It is not an overwhelming app and does exactly what you need it to do. Actual use: I use these mostly for running and they work really well. I have used ear hooks previously so I don't mind them although I prefer the wings in my previous buds but they stay perfectly in place for the most part. I am a heavy sweater so would really like the ability to bend these just a little bit so they hold just a little better. They are a tad sensitive with the touch but that is me just needing to get used to this type of wireless bud (my previous was a wired wirelss bud). Battery life; I have only used these for a maximum of 3 hours but they were maybe at 85% charge based on the app. The case holds an enormous charge and haven't charged it since I first charged it when I got it. It still shows 3 of 4 lights left on the case indicator. I do like the indicator lights on the case and how it shows when it is charging. The built in charging cord on the case is a little strange and I had to figure out how to plug it into my USB charging head but it worked. I do like the fact that it also has wireless charging so will most likely use that the majority of the time. Overall rating: I give this a 4.5 out of 5 as I think these are great value for the price point. If you are looking for something with good ANC, I would look at a much higher price point and knock these down to a 4. I chose these over the non-ANC version because I could get them at the same exact price due to Best Buy's price match policy.

I’ve been using the JLab Epic Air Sport ANC True Wireless Earbuds for a few weeks, and they have exceeded my expectations. The active noise cancellation is effective, making my workouts and commutes much more enjoyable. The sound quality is impressive, with clear highs and deep bass. The earbuds are comfortable and stay secure during intense workouts. The battery life is outstanding, with over 15 hours of playtime on a single charge and an additional 55 hours with the charging case. The only minor downside is that the touch controls can be a bit sensitive. Overall, these earbuds offer great value for the price and are perfect for anyone with an active lifestyle.

Lots of features and superior sound for not a lot of money. These are my new favorites that I go to nearly every time. The active noise cancellation is awesome but so is the Be Aware feature that allows you to select the option of letting in surrounding noises to keep you aware of what's going on around you such as car noise while on a walk, etc. They are very sleek and compact as comfortable as well. Sound quality is awesome as well as the battery life. Multiple ear bud tip covers are included so Im sure a comfortable option exists for you,

The radio never worked. I spent $1,200 on a floating panel radio is it doesn't.
