Disappointing

Earbuds worth having!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The JLab Audio - Epic Air True Wireless Earbud Headphones - Black at first use has a Bluetooth connection that creates skips and cut outs of the sound. The right and left Earbuds are not synchronized properly, at first use and produce audio not in unison. By downloading the JLab Audio App from the Google Play store, I was able to “season or marinate” the Earbuds by using a process named Burn-in Tool. The Burn-in tool is supposed to loosen the diaphragm and stress the headphone driver, which will improve the sound quality. The Burn-in process takes a total of 40 hours during a week for 5-8 hours a day. The problem I find with this process is that the earbuds on several occasions disconnected from my Google Pixel phone, thereby ending the Burn-in process on their own. These earbuds have smart technology that is supposed to make them become more adaptable to its environment and usage pattern. After three days of using the Burn-in Tool and basic usage my earbuds still skipped and had broken audio between both earbuds some of the time. It comes with a charging case for charging the earbuds or any device that accepts a USB charging port. The problem with the charging case is that the earbuds do not fit snuggly inside the case, unless the case is snapped closed. During charging, the earbuds are supposed to display a slow pulsing blue light, but the earbuds do not snap in secure enough to make contact with the chargers connectors. Therefore, I cannot see the pulsing blue lights to verify the charging process is working. The instructions warn against any prying of the ear hooks to avoid damage to the antenna. So by closing the case, I cannot see if the earbuds are charging. After I took them out from the case, they still said low battery. I cannot figure out how to know when the earbuds are charged at full capacity. Pairing to Bluetooth is simple and the basic Bluetooth format. I picked one earbud to pair first as the main earbud, based on the side of my body where my device will be positioned. Then, I connected my main earbud to my second earbud. I was also able to enable the auto power on feature that lets my earbuds power on and connect right out of the charging case. I can advance musical tracks or go back to a previous track by tapping on the right earbud. Increasing volume is control by the right earbud. Tapping on the left earbud starts or stops the music track and answers the phone. Decreasing volume is controlled by the left earbud. Making calls through the voice technology is a little iffy, because sometimes it gets my command wrong. It will pick a name similar to my command. In the final analysis, these earbuds are worth having.

Nice sound but connectivity issues
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had some problems getting these to connect to my iPhone despite following the directions. After finally getting them to recognize the iPhone I continued to have drop outs from time to time. When they stayed connected, however, I found the sound pleasing and the fitment great with the wide variety of included buds and the ear wrap around. I understand that these are learning headphones so maybe the connection issues will get better with time. I will reserve judgement until then.

Superb battery life and easy to use.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All I can say is wow, great battery life, lightweight, great fit especially with all the extra eartips, Best is the excellent sound quality and bass, GREAT FOR YOUR WORKOUTS. The earbuds look so good in all black especially with the rugged charging case with its own built in charging cable. I rinsed the earbuds lightly after several workouts without any issue, so another big plus. As for the case, brilliant. The lid for the charging case flips up and snaps closed automatically. The charging cable connects to a micro USB port along the case's outer band. Also there is a regular USB port for charging other devices using the case's battery. The charging cable snaps into place along the outer band and covers the ports. There is also a battery life display up top, by pressing a button gives you an 5 LED readout of how much power is left in the case itself. The battery life is off the chart, I easily got over 6 hours before receiving a prompt to recharge. In addition the case supposedly per the specs can store another 30 hours of power. Pairing is quick and relatively painless, pair one earbud with your device then pair that now paired earbud with the other unpaired earbud. The earbud turns on automatically once removed from the case and will of course Auto pair to your device if within range. Placing the buds back into the case, shuts them off as well. Controls are achieve via an innovative touch sensitive surfaces that allow control of tracks, volume, call management and use of smart voice assistants like Google or Siri. The controls work and so far no issues with sweat affecting that ability. By far the best earbuds wired or wireless that I have used to date with a very very reasonably price point.

Where's the Bass?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a pair of this type (truly wireless behind the ear clamping) because other types want to fall out with a lot of movement. These come in a nice charger case like higher-end models and seem very well made. They come with an assortment of the rubbery ear bud pieces so every person can customize the fit for perfect sound. Or, to get the best sound you can. Other phones I have tried, the bass was lost if you didn't get the right fit. With the Jlab Epic Air, nothing seemed to help. Crisp, well defined mid-range and highs, but I found the bass to be lacking. I may like more bass than the average person (others have reviewed these and raved about the bass?) but I just can't give these more than 3 stars because of it. If you're like me you may have to spend more to get the bass you want. These pair rather easily but lose connection from time to time. Tapping on the one you set as the "lead" ear bud and strange things can happen--even jumping to another song outside of the folder you are working on in the playing device.
