    Hooked on the Epic Air

I’m fairly active and have been on the wireless bandwagon for a while now with the JLab Epic2 earbuds (which I love). Naturally I decided to give their Epic Air a try wondering if true wireless was worth the hype. Overall, I have to say I am really impressed by these earbuds. The sound is fantastic, and great for all the genres I listen to (pop, rock, metal, electronic, etc.). The bass has a nice kick for those cardio intensive workouts, and they get pretty loud too. The earhook design makes the earbuds feel very secure, and I honestly barely feel them. I have a decent amount of ear piercings and the earbuds are very comfortable and don’t interfere. I didn’t have any issues getting the earbuds to pair to my phone or each other. The included quick start guide does a nice job outlining the process. For some there may be a slight learning curve getting them to pair for the first time, but once that’s done they’ll automatically pair going forward. Connectivity wise, I did experience some very minor, and VERY brief, signal cutouts the first 3 times I used the earbuds. I anticipated this based on some of the other reviews, but I wasn’t bothered by it. There is a slight break-in period, but the earbuds are indeed smart and I didn’t have any connectivity issues at all afterward. It is worth it to be patient and let the technology adjust to you. One of my favorite features is the charging case though. My biggest fear with true wireless earbuds is losing them, but the earhook design and case make that pretty fool-proof. I simply pop the earbuds back into the case when I’m done and not only does it protect them, but keeps them fully charged as well! And the case can also charge your other devices, so I frequently use it as a portable charger for my phone. The touch controls are convenient and responsive, but are still a new animal to me. I think I still prefer having buttons, but these earbuds are making me come around! I would definitely recommend the Epic Air. You can’t beat the amazing build and sound quality for this price point, and you’ll endlessly thank yourself for going wire free!

JLab Audio - Epic Air True Wireless Earbud Headphones - Black I've tried several wireless earbuds and usually found them disappointing at the gym. Most don't stay seated during strenuous activity. Not true for these. The behind-the-ear hooks hold the buds firmly in place. The multiple sizes of tips make a custom fit easy too. I found the sound to be as good or better than any blue-tooth buds I've tried. I had some connection issues, but found that wearing my phone on my sleeve helped. My favorite feature is the charging case that also contains a battery to recharge the buds when you can't plug them in!

These ear buds are awesome. No wires, easy to pair, very comfortable, sound great! Out of the box, ready to go. Simple pairing set up, controls are very easy to use, sound is amazing! They are extremely comfortable, you hardly even realize you're wearing them! The battery life is incomparable to any other headphone I've ever used, these blow Beats out of the water! I finally had to charge the charging case (after 2+ weeks) and I use these things at the gym, doing yard work, while I'm at work, they've never died! The case can also charge other devices. I haven't had any connection issues that I saw people talking about in the other reviews. I think the bluetooth connectivity is exceptional, the range is pretty impressive too. I like that you can only use one if you want because they each have their own power button. Overall, these are hands down the best ear buds I've ever owned and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a pair of actual wireless ear buds that are good for any type of activity.

I read several reviews of all the different true wireless ear buds before going with the JLab epic airs. I heard good things and bad things. Here is my review: I love the around the ear piece. My ears are a little different shaped due to years of wrestling. So I was worried the ear bud would fall out and like the extra connection to my ear. I put them on right out the box, paired them easily. Initially I did not like the sound. I changed out the gell piece to the bigger one and WoW what a difference! They fit snug in my ear now. Great bass. Not bass like my over the ear beats but pretty solid. The highs and mids are decent but not perfect. The controls are touch controls and they work every time. They are simple to use. I like the charging case and the usb cord is wrapped around the case. You don't even know its there until you take it out. Battery life is great and they charge fast when you need it. The case can charge your phone if you need as well. I haven't lost connection like some people have said. I sometimes have my phone sitting on my gym bag and not on my person without any issues. These are sweat proof as well. No issues there either. All in all a great ear bud for the gym. Sound quality is decent and bass is good IMO. They seem durable and aren't to bulky like some of the others. On sale now! Good purchase if you need a solid ear bud that doesn't get in your way while you are lifting.

Very good sound, especially when you consider these are Bluetooth earbuds. Love the tap feature for controlling them. It is a great case they come in for charging, carrying, etc. Chances are slim of losing them, especially because of the unique design they have so they don't fall out of your ears. Carefully read the instructions and you should have absolutely no problem with them. I had no problem with setting them up. They are very comfortable and secure. Love them.

These headphones work fantastic for running and other highly mobile sports! They learn and adapt to the shape of your head and where you keep your phone. Setup is quick and easy, with very clear instructions in the box. Comes with the charging case for both carrying and keeping them charged up and ready for use! Good sound, not the greatest but very good for small earbuds!

So JLab jumps into the wireless headphones market. No surprise there as they are known for their sound devices. Already owning a pair of wireless devices of a different brand, I decided to test these out (at no cost) for an honest review. The headphones come with a charging case that has an incorporated USB cable that detaches to charge the case. It comes with 8 different types of earbuds for different fittings. My biggest gripe is that the angle at which the earbuds enter the (my) ear canal, they don't seal, and therefore produce no bass, and sound more like an old school transistor radio. I tried all the earbuds, but none did the trick. However, when I physically pushed the headphones into my ear, the sound was great. Of course I would have had to hold them in to keep enjoying good sound, because as soon as I released pressure, the sound went back to transistor radio. They stay in place with jogging and they are sweat proof and all that, but that does no good if the ear canal can't get the proper sound enjoyment out of them. I suggest you try fittings these into your ear before purchasing, otherwise you may end up very dissatisfied. JLab, please test these things out on a bunch of people during the engineering portion. I feel JLab is very close to something good, but just not with these.

Now i know I can't be the only guy who has issues with earbuds staying in my ears. Maybe its cause I have weird shaped inner ears or whatever, but the apple airbuds or any other latch free earbud that are supposed to be held by JUST your inner ear always falls out for me. They go in, but always, ALWAYS never stay in. So for me, these Jlab earbuds with the over the ear latch looked promising. And the fact they were wire free, was a huge plus in my book. But, as others have stated, there are some major issues. The earbuds themselves take a while to pair, and every time you turn them on take 15 seconds or more to actually connect. I've used these twice, and each time with the slightest movement or turn, I feel like the sound drops from one ear or the other for a few seconds before re-connecting. Kind of annoying. I've read others state that it takes a while for the self learning earbuds to connect and work out the kinks, but come on. This shouldn't be a thing in 2017. If you are gonna release wireless earbuds, do it and make them with quality, instead of just trying to push something out to the mass market to compete with competitors. For the issues mentioned, I cannot recommend these at this moment.

I have loved my Epic Air headphones from Jlab. They were easy to set up and have a variety of earbud sizes (earbuds never fit my ear). I love the battery that charges the head phones and even gives me a back up battery for my phone which is all great for traveling. They are great for in the gym, not concerns about wires and they are very light weight. Loving them :)

When I got these, I had the chance to put them to the test immediately while I travelled. I have had a lot of head and earphones over the years and own several wireless Bluetooth sets. But this is the first time I have tried Bluetooth earphones that where separated. The sound is good and not great. To me (personally) it nails it on the deep bass tones and the mods are pretty good too. The highs could be better. I’m comparing these to a set of Bose units I use that really hit the mark on all levels. For the same price range I’d expect the same or close sound. But what they lose in sound they make up for in everything else. The carrying case is a bit heavy for its size but it is a charger for the earphones! It will also charge your phone if you want. That was very forward thinking by JLAB. You cannot comfortably put it in your pocket, but t packs nicely and charges your earphones fast. Super convenient. But, by far my favor part of these earphones is how comfortable they are! They have various sizes of earbuds for you and I think there are like 6-7 sizes. They hook onto your ear and stay too. And they stay in place better than any earphones I have. Bottom line they are a great option and come with a lot of extras. I recommend them to anyone.

    Underrated, for what they provide...

I purchased these recently, knowing that there were multiple negative reviews on the earbuds. For a while, I've been waiting on a pair of truly wireless bt earbuds that are a similar form factor to the powerbeats wireless earbuds. These are the only ones I found that provided both the form factor, but without being obtrusive in design, but also did not fail in sound quality. I have experienced similar things that other reviews have mentioned, as far as sporadic disconnection, when the paired device is moved around a lot, but they worked perfectly in instances where my phone was placed on a treadmill/eliptical stand and remained static, while doing my workout. For those that run, you may experience more intermittent disconnects (which are quick). For sound, I think that can always be subjective, due to all people having different ear sizes. These fit almost perfectly for me, right out of the box. I do notice, when just using them on the day to day, that turning my head sometimes thinned out the sound, which told me that I may need to try some of the other earbud sizes. It's apparent that you've got to fit the right size, to keep the sound full and consistent. When the seal is proper, the sound quality is amazing. Deep bass with balanced mids and highs. One thing that many fail to mention, due to these typically being purchased for sports/activities/workouts, they don't work great with sunglasses, due to the form factor. The phone call quality is just okay, but I also don't see these as the right fit for expecting a high call quality sound. Overall, if you want to get rid of the wires completely, I think these are an amazing buy, in particular, at the $99 sale price I purchased them for. At the original retail price of 199 and even the 149, they might not be the right pick. One last thing I have to mention about these is how amazing the charging case is. I purchased these 11 days ago, charged the case up full and haven't charged the case since (10 days total) and the charging case still has the full charge availability. The fact that it acts as a secondary charging backup for your device, with an integrated microUSB cable...that to me, makes it well worth the money (even if the battery backup is not that large). I really do recommend these purely for workouts, where you won't require your phone/device to be in your pocket while working out. Or even in instances for using while at your desk at work, when you won't need to use sunglasses. I think the reviews are definitely valid, considering the original retail price, but if these go on sale for anything under 100, they're definitely worth the price.
