The best earbuds I have owned
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.JLab Epic Sport ANC3 Earbuds are the best earbuds I have ever owned. The sound quality is impressive, they stay in place comfortably, and they incorporate the latest technological advancements and audio quality. Utilizing the latest Bluetooth technology, they automatically work with your device to be discovered and connected. They are comfortable to wear and stay in place using a comfortable over-the-ear design. The ear tips come in three sizes, and there is a fourth option, foam tips, which you can purchase online. These foam tips are similar to foam earplugs you squeeze into your ears. Foam tips are comfortable, blocking most outside noises, such as earplugs. The automatic noise canceling technology is exceedingly good and can be set to three levels via the JLab app: Off, Be Aware, and On. A slider in the app allows you to control the level of noise cancelation. The touch controls on the earbuds allow you to switch between modes; the touch controls are configurable; by default, a long press on either earbud switches the mode. The earbuds talk to you so you know important information like your mode. The touch controls are either taps, long presses, or swipes. The charging case can be wirelessly via USB-C or the built-in USB-C cable. It has various indicator lights so that you know the state of the charge for each earbud without having to refer to the app. An interval timer is helpful during interval training; active time, rest time, and repeat are configurable. A tone will play at each step, and the interval data can be seen in the app. There are three preset equalizer settings and a custom version that allows you to set the earbuds to your preference. One of the more interesting features is a burn-in tool that plays noise, tones, and frequencies through the earbuds to burn in the electronics and sound drivers. An ambient noise generator also allows various ambient sounds to be played individually or in combination. JLab seems very customer—and quality-focused, so I expect more features to be available in future software and firmware releases. I have been using these earbuds for weeks and highly recommend them.

Do Yourself A Favor And Get A Pair!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am writing this review for the JLab Epic Sport, ANC 3, True Wireless Earbuds. I think it’s a safe bet that every one of us have had that agonizing incident when, while wearing earbuds, we bend over and suddenly witness one of them falling into the trash, down a gutter, or wherever else. Most of the time we are able to retrieve them unharmed. But then there are those times when they get stepped on, flushed down a toilet, or disappear into the void, and we are left with only one. And for those who run, work out, work around the house, or even go biking, the incident rate goes up exponentially. Thankfully JLab has provided a solution with the Epic Sport earbuds. In the early days of earbuds, the wrap-around ear loop was the norm. Now it seems that everyone wants to go to the in-ear style earbuds. Don’t get me wrong, I have several pair of in-ear buds that fit well, and sound great. But they are impossible to really relax and enjoy with unless I am not doing anything overly physical, because the thought is always in the back of my mind…”Be careful, they might fall out!” So I was glad to see a wrap-around-the-ear model available from JLab, a brand I have enjoyed many times over the years. One of the first things I noticed was just how well-designed they are for fit. It’s obvious a lot of research went into making sure that they not only would stay on, but that they would be extremely comfortable as well. I know that with a lot of other same-style earbuds, I have had to constantly readjust, and “cram” them back in to my ears. But not so with the JLab. The curvature of the loop and the angle of the earbud itself ensure a snug and comfortable fit, especially with the choice of three different sized silicone ear tips that guarantee a good fit for just about anyone. Now, it might be just me, but I really like that they also placed a very cool looking JLab logo on the outside of the earbud. It really gives them a lot of eye appeal! To sum up this part of the review, they look and feel great. I have no complaints whatsoever in this regard! Setting up the earbuds was absolutely typical. Charging, downloading the app, and familiarizing yourself with the functions of the controls. For me, the location and purpose of the controls always pose a minor issue, especially when switching from one earbud to another. You know,, trying to remember how each one works can be a tad frustrating. But hey, that’s just the way it is no matter which earbud you use. JLab has made controlling the Epic Sport earbuds uniquely simple and easy. By not trying to incorporate a huge number of functions, they make the learning curve quite easy… Volume, answer calls, ANC functions, and a couple of others, and that’s it. And for what they are designed for, I believe that is more than sufficient. When you are working out or working around the house or job, you want an earbud that is refreshingly simple. Speaking of charging, JLab has designed the Epic Sport earbuds to accommodate two types of charging, wireless and cable. This goes a long way with me! There is nothing like simply placing the case on a wireless charging station and not having to look for the right type of cable, plugging it in, etc.! Simple…easy! Thank you JLab! As for the sound. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised at the sound of these earbuds. First of all, the listening experience is very well sealed off from outside noise, not only with the ANC, but also because of how comfortably snug they fit into the ear canal, sealing off wind noise and inhibiting other outside noises from creeping in. The ANC aspect of these earbuds is quite decent, especially when you consider the price-point. The JLab ANC technology in these earbuds rivals that of many much-higher priced earbuds on the market. They don’t completely block all outside noises, but like I said, they do remarkably well. And of course the Epic Sport has the typical ANC choices…Off, ON, and Pass-through (Be Aware). I always prefer the Be Aware function so that I can be aware of approaching cars, people and so on. There’s nothing like the sudden urge to have a heart attack when you are suddenly surprised by a blowing horn or someone running up behind you unnoticed! Besides the ANC aspect, music and podcasts sound great. At the end of the day, the JLab Epic Sport ANC 3 True Wireless Earbuds are a great investment for anyone wanting an active lifestyle coupled with a great pair of wireless ANC earbuds. They are comfortable, the sound delivery is remarkable, and they don’t break the bank. A perfect choice!

Good on paper, but not in practice
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The JLAB Epic Sport ANC3 wireless earbuds looked great on paper. They have tons of features, including long battery life, LDAC Hi-Res Audio, active noise cancellation, multiple charging options, 3 different sized ear tips, IP66 sweat and water resistance, and more. I really wanted to like these ear buds, but in real-world use, they just didn't perform for me. The biggest problem I had was that I just couldn't get a good seal in my ear, which affected the sound quality. I admittedly have bigger ear canals than average, so I almost always use the large ear tips. And these seem to fit fine, if I take the time to fidget with them and make sure I get a good seal. The only problem is as soon as I move, the seal is broken and I'm back to loose fitting, poor sound quality buds. I think the problem lies with the ear hook design. It is so rigid that it doesn't allow the ear tip to sit as deep as I need it to keep the seal tight. Trying to use these while actually working out was not a good experience. I was really disappointed too, because when I would get a good seal, these actually had pretty decent sound quality. And the battery life is amazing. They can last up to 12 hours, and then get another 40 hours worth of charge out of the case, totaling more than 50 hours of use before you need to charge them again. And when it comes to charging, the case has a built-in usb-c cable, which is the first time I've seen that included with wireless ear buds. The case also features wireless charging, and a usb-c port if for some reason you can't use the attached usb-c cable. All really great features that I would absolutely love if I could actually use these ear buds. However, as it stands, I just cannot recommend these. Maybe it's just the shapes of my ears or something, but I've never really had an issue with other ear buds, even similarly designed ones with ear hooks. So while these ear buds have a lot of really great features, I would keep looking if you are looking for a decent pair of sport oriented ear buds.

Terrific value Earbuds built for Exercise!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The JLab Epic Sport ANC 3 True Earbuds (model: EBEPICSPT3RBLK82) are a great sounding set of earbuds. They have a wide range of capabilities and sound well across the spectrum of music. These are a very secure set of in-ear ears buds that have a built-in set of ear hooks that make these the most secure fitting earbuds that I have evaluated. These earbuds are built for exercise – including rigorous exercise. JLab calls these “their most premium sports earbuds ever.” Ear Bud Features First, these are True Wireless In-Ear earbuds via Bluetooth 5.3 with multi-point connectivity (2 devices at the same time) and are powered by built-in Lithium polymer batteries rated for 12+ hours “each” in the earbuds (with ANC off) and 40+ hours from the charging case for a total rated time of 52+ hours (your time will vary) of battery life. They feature touch and swipe controls on both pods, auto on, the ability to use either bud in a solo mode, can work with phone assistants, have good audio quality, microphones in both pods, a noise isolating fit, and IP66 Sweatproof resistance for the earbuds only. The earbuds come with 3 sets of gel tips (S, M, and L) so that the fit can be customized. They also come with three sets of silicone gel tips to aid in the fit of the buds to the ear (medium installed, small and large come as alternatives / spares). The ear buds come with wear detect sensors so that music can be paused and restarted as needed when either pod is removed from the ear. The charging case has an integrated cable (USB-C) that folds into the case for ease of storage and features wireless charging, and a charging port to provide yet another options for charging (say with a USB A-C cable). These also come with a 2-year parts and labor warranty. The touch controls are symmetrical (both buds have the same controls) and are the controls you would expect for powering the earbuds on/off, answering/ending/ignoring calls, voice assistant, music play/pause, and skipping tracks. A long press on the controls will control the automatic noise control features, between On, Off, and Be Aware. Be Aware, allows one to listen but still hear the surrounding area for safe listening. Tapping 5 times toggles the Spatial Audio on or off, Spatial Audio is a “surround-sound” like mode that enhances the sound of anything you are listening to. Tapping both the left and right touch sensors cycles the EQ settings from “JLab Signature” (default with amplified vocals and bass), to “Knowles Preferred” (balanced armature), to “Bass Boost” (amplified bass and sub-bass), and finally “Custom” that can be configured in the JLab app. The EQ mode is indicated with voice prompts. In ear devices are not my first choice in audio devices, however these I found to be the best earbuds as far as staying securely on one’s ears that I have tried. One thing to remember is the best way to put on earbuds with ear hooks is to place the earbud into the ear while the hook is at the front of the ear and then rotate the earbud so that the hook is securely placed on one’s ear. JLab app, which is technically optional, allows one to control most aspects of these earbuds right from the app. Once paired with your device and the app is installed and open you can see a list of the JLab devices you have and then clicking on the one you want to control is a tap away. For this model of earbuds you have the following controls – Noise Control modes, Interval Timer (helps with interval exercise routines while listening), Equalizer settings, Touch controls, Spatial audio, turn on/off the auto play/pause sensors, set the device to music or movie mode (this is a low latency mode to enhance watching movies), turn on safe hearing to control volume, and finally update the firmware of the earbuds. Overall, in my testing, these earbuds performed well and sounded good for both calls and audio and would be a good addition for anyone who likes to use earbuds for their audio needs; especially audio needs pertaining to vigorous exercise activities where a securely fitting earbud is essential. Pros: Great value, Charging options (integrated cable, wireless, extra port) Cons: Not the best earbuds for side sleepers, changing EQ settings requires either both hands, or using the app.

Love these earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I feel JLab does a nice job listening to their customers. I love these earbuds as they go around the ear to help hold them in place. My only complaint would be that they are a hard plastic, so not as comfortable and this makes it a little harder to get in place. If they would make the part that goes around the ear a little softer that could flex more than they would be perfect. I prefer this type though over just sitting in the ear. The sound quality is decent, not the best but not too bad either and with the app you can customize a little bit more. The case. I think this is probably the best-case design so far. You have 3 options for charging. One, they have a built in USB-C cord. This is very short, but at least it is there in case you are out and about and need to charge and forgot a cord. The next is that you can put this on a wireless dock station and charge it wirelessly. The last way is that you can buy your own USB-C cord at least on one end and plug that into the case itself and then plug into a wall. I love that they added this so that I can use a longer charge cord. The only downside is that you do have to buy a longer cord on your own. I wished they would have included one myself but I am happy they at least added the port on the case so I can use my own. For the most part, my only main complaint would be the hard plastic. But great job to JLabs listening.

Excellent audio and a secure fit.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, these are excellent headphones with only minor quibbles. Sound - Excellent sound and great isolation with the active noise cancelling. These are comparable to headphones costing about twice as much. It is clear that JLab also paid attention to an aspect of sound that most headphones ignore: how you sound to others when using on a phone call. These are up there with Shoxz Opencomm2 (which are my go-to headphones for phone use). Fit - I tend to have a hard time with in-ear headphones falling out, particularly while doing things that are more active than sitting at a desk. Like even going for a walk tends to make them fall out. Having the ear-clip keeps these in place much better. Quibbles - The touch controls, while extant, are not really usable. Everything is controlled through the number of taps, so it's fine to play/pause or answer a call with a single tap, but if you're trying to adjust the volume or skip tracks, you're better off just pulling out the phone. The other quibble relates to the fit. While they are held secure, they do get to be a bit uncomfortable for me after an hour or so of use (two hours max).

Epic Fitness Listening
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The JLab Epic Sport ANC 3, despite having a long of a name, are my favorite sport earbuds I have used. They have two primary jobs, to be a good fitness companion, and to be a good earbud, and they manage to do both exceedingly well, and for a more than reasonable price too. On the sound side, you get dual drivers(a dynamic driver and a Knowles armature driver) in a compact form factor. What this gives you is a full-range sound that sounds balanced across a range of music genres. The low-end gets reasonably deep while the high-end and midrange are clear and well represented across the classic, pop, and metal tracks that I spent most of my time listening to thus far. You get LDAC and AAC support for hi-res audio tracks, and Labs Spatial Audio to give a more 3D like presentation to the sound, which I personally didn’t use as much as I tended to prefer the more raw quality that comes from standard stereo, especially when working out. In terms of ANC, you can switch between three modes (on, off, and awareness), which lets you customize how in touch with your surroundings you want to be. So when walking around the gym, I could leave “be aware” of and hear my surroundings well, but then turn on full noise cancelling when on a machine or running, to shut off my surroundings. The ANC works reasonably well as well, cutting out outside noise and not affecting the audio quality in any negative way that I could really notice. So overall, these are great earbuds, particularly for their price, but where I like them most, and why they have become my favorite workout companion now, is their comfort. I personally have never been a huge earbud user, mainly because I have a hard time finding earbuds that I find comfortable for longer listening sessions. Working out is one of the few times I use earbuds because of the amount of movement I do, but again, comfort has been something I haven’t quite been able to balance. With these, while you can customize them, I was able to use them right out of the box with great success. The ear hooks are sturdy but soft and comfortable on my skin, while the angle of the actual buds in my ear feel secure without pulling. I was able to run, do some weights, and bike with no issues. They are super comfortable and light, which I love. I have no issues recommending these if you are in the market for a very solid pair of earbuds for working out and sports.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got these on sale. I think they are well worth the price. Sound is very clear and the jlab app comes with great features like equalizer/custom touch controls. The noise cancelling isn't very strong but for the price you can't really complain.

Poor battery life.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy these. They lie about the working time. You’re lucky to get 2 hours. I returned the first pair because I assumed they had to be faulty, but same thing. It’s a common issue I guess where the left earbud does not charge correctly. I would never recommend these to anyone!
