Great and comfortable budget buds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Some people (including me) really don’t like traditional earbuds much. First of all, they generally don’t stay in. And when they do stay in, they make my ear canals itchy and uncomfortable after a while. So what do you do in this case? Previously, your best option was to get a set of bone-conduction headphones. These work well, but they are a bit expensive, and don’t easily fit in your pocket when you are not using them. But another option is the “clip-on earbuds” such as this one! OK, these don’t go IN your ears, but instead clip around the pinna (the part of your ear that sticks out), and because of this, they won’t cause discomfort in your ear canals. But this design itself does have some compromises. Since it doesn’t seal, it cannot block noise, so noise canceling is not even an option. Whether this is good or bad depends upon the situation. If you are on a busy street, being able to hear traffic and horns could keep you safe. In an office environment, this will allow you to hear if a coworker tries to speak to you. On the other hand, these would be useless in an aircraft or any noisy environment. But the big disadvantage when compared to bone conduction options is that others nearby might be able to hear what you are listening to, and in a silent space, such as a library, the sound might be loud enough to disturb others. But given those technical limitations, how does this particular model do? First, I must admit that this is my first pair of clip-on earbuds, so I don’t have a reference frame for how other companies perform, but I must admit that I very much like these. I find the sound quality to be more than acceptable, and for those with more discerning tastes, the JLab app opens up the 10-band equalizer which will allow the sound to be sculpted to match your preferences. The semi-circular arm between the lobes of each bud is rounded and made from a relatively soft rubber, which increases comfort. My only complaint is that I wish that the arm were just a bit longer to accommodate my large ears, but for people with average to smaller sized ears, this should not be a problem. When I first got them, I was not sure how to tell the left side from the right side. However, they will only go into the case one way, so that makes it easy. If you try to put the left bud in the right side, the magnets repel, cluing you into the fact that you have it backwards. Later on, I noticed the large “L” and “R” stamped into the plastic that faces the outside of your ear, so that mystery was solved. One noticeable lack is that the case does not have wireless charging, as it only uses USB-C. But since Bose Ultra Open Earbuds cost many times more and it doesn’t even have wireless charging, I think that we can give the JLab model a pass for this. So, to summarize, these are comfortable for most people, sound great, and are affordable.

New Clip-on Design Very Comfortable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gave the JLab Flex earbuds a lot of use right after I got them as they came fully charged (blue light on solid). The first thing I noticed was the 'over 20 hours of play time' - great. The case has a solid feel and the design includes a blue indicator on the case to tell you of the charging status. When you tuck the buds into the case they snap into place with a firm magnetic click. I noticed the case and buds have a 2 year warranty. Also the case has a reset button in case you have trouble with connectivity which I did not. These buds paired easily with my cell phone as well as my laptop. You do have all the normal controls for audio and cell phone calls and these control actions worked smoothly. You'll get a very short USB Type-C charging cable which I did wish was a bit longer so I could more easily reach my charging port in the car. The sound is okay but can be improved using the JLab cell phone app. I was able to tune the sound much better using the 'Custom' settings on the app's equalizer. The biggest difference between these buds and other earbuds is the 'open clip' design. You put the earbuds around your ear. Be sure the larger part is against the back of your ear and the smaller part with the speaker is inside your ear. I did have trouble at first making sure I put them on properly, but after a few times, I was able to easily cip them up. It turned out this design is much more comfortable for me. My ears sometimes get a little sore when I used other buds for a long time with them 'stuck' into my ear. This new design is a great upgrade for me - tip of the cap to the design engineers at JLab. I would highly recommend these unique earbuds.

Fantastic Quality Earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As soon as I opened the package, I took out the earbuds and saw on the case that it was lit blue and had a full charge. When I placed one on my ear, my cellphone immediately started searching for the earbuds to my surprise. This might be because I have other JLab products. The earbuds paired quickly and easily. No problems at all. This is one of the fastest setups that I have seen with earbuds that I have tried in the past. In addition the quality of the sound is great. Made several phone calls and listened to videos online. Walked with them as well, and they clung to my ears comfortably. Sometimes earbuds will fall out on me because of the unique size of my ear. However, these stayed on. That for me was a huge plus. I definitely will be wearing these a lot. I do a lot of outreaches and events in my line of work. So these are going to be perfect when communicating with key people during the events. I have absolutely no complaints or concerns at this time. PROs: Quick setup Paired wonderfully Stayed on my ear comfortably Walked around with no issues Everyone could hear me clearly. CONS: None at this time. A plus in my book. Thank you for letting me try these out. Going to recommend to family and friends.

Sound good, don't feel quite so good.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll say right out of the gate, these were not comfortable on my ears - I could only handle them for roughly 10 minutes at a time then the discomfort set in. Of course, your mileage may vary! The pricing on them was very reasonable compared to many "earbuds" out there. The uniqueness of these though is that they don't go "IN" your ear, rather, the clip onto the ear. This leaves the ability to hear everything around you so you don't lose situational awareness while walking, hiking, at the office, etc where you need to hear without blanking everything around you out. Sound reproduction wasn't bad at all, especially considering the price point. I've had a number of JLab earbuds in the past, so if these are anything like them I can see them lasting a good while. I've personally been using them while going on multi-mile hikes in the Florida afternoon heat and they haven't fallen victim to me sweating. Also, there are selectable sound profiles from the app, however, in my experience this seems to also impact sound going to my car stereo via Android Auto, which then tends to over-drive my car's speakers. Again, your mileage may vary based on the speakers/sound system in your vehicle. Giving 3 stars overall because of the discomfort, which while giving great sound I can only wear them for a limited time before they start to hurt.

Good sound. Got to get used to it.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This brand provides good quality, sound and comfort for every set of headphones they provide and this is no exception. With technology shifting over to the open ear concept, these headphones have a good design that makes it unique from others. This set clips onto your ears but in my opinion, it's more of pinch and that gives it an uncomfortable feeling after a little time. I would not be satisfied jogging with these on. The battery lasts a very long time, almost 20 hours, and the charge time is crazy just under 2 hours on a dead battery. Bluetooth connection and sound quality is surprisingly strong. I could hear the music quite clearly in my walk with a busy street next to me. There is a button on the headphones that control noise cancelling and hear-through options. This programmable button can also make and answer phone calls with the built microphone. For what they can do, these headphones don't wow me. It's just a new design that I've never seen. If you don't mind a slight pinch, you can test these out.

The best for the price!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just picked these up from target because best buy didn't have them. Right off the bat, these are killing the bose open earbuds ultra, for a fraction of the price!! People get caught up with the name brand hype convinced that something is good because of the brand loyalty. I'm not loyal to any brand when I'm spending my hard earned money. I go with whoever has the best product that year. No matter The brand. These Open earbuds from jlab has better bass than bose, the sound is fuller, and they get louder. A lot of people don't understand what they're buying and don't know how to adjust them properly to get the best sound. And believe me when I tell you, I bought the bose open earbuds and I didn't even keep them for 24hrs! Complete trash for what you're paying for them. The disrespect of bose to sell a product that doesn't sound good at all, in my opinion. The microphone quality for phone calls is horrible. No multi point connection. Battery life is laughable. For 300 plus dollars, they should be sued for false advertisement. I wasn't going to get these because of the low ratings, but I'm so glad that I have a mind of my own, and not be a brand sheep like most people. Trust me when I tell you that if you buy these for what they're intended for, you won't be disappointed. If you are into the open earbuds style, you can't find anything better than this for the price you're paying. I should know because I have over 3000 Dollars worth of earbuds and if they not as advertised, I am the king of return's! Get these ASAP!

A new innovative style of wearing earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The JLab Flex Open-Clip True Wireless Earbuds – Black give the performance just as is stated. First, they easily paired automatically, without me doing anything except removing the blue tab. JLab Flex popped up on my phones’ screen and once tapped a Bluetooth connection was made. These earbuds really sound great and by installing the JLab app, I could fine tune the sound I desired with the three equalizer modes (Custom, Balanced, and Jlab Signature). Also, the app gives control over Touch controls, Music and Movie Mode and Safe Hearing controls. The bass and treble is at the perfect pitch to produce a great sound. I was able to make calls verbally by giving commands to OK Google. The disconnection was made manually by pressing either earbud twice. All commands are shared on both earbuds. Different sequences of tapping determine volume, play/pause, track forward/back, Siri/OK Google, EQ change, answer call, hang up, and reject incoming call. The JLab Flex Open-Clip True Wireless Earbuds – Black are a new innovative style of wearing earbuds that produce the great audible sounds that people demand from their devices.

Nice, but not my preference
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried out the JLab Flex Open-Clip True Wireless Earbuds for the first time. I have to be honest that these earbuds aren't what I was expecting initially, but I tried them and I'm going to give my honest opinion. Once they were fully charged and synced, it took me a few minutes to figure out how to get the earbuds in my ear. That's when I realized that these earbuds don't go IN the ear, but they are intentionally made to be NEAR the ear. I turned the earbuds up to the highest volume and while I could hear the music playing, it wasn't as loud to my liking. I walked up to my wife while she was in the kitchen and asked her if she could hear the music playing. She paused for about two seconds and her response was "barely". Next, I tried the earbuds on my morning walk. With the earbuds not directly in my ear, I wasn't able to drown out cars and school buses passing me. This particular morning, I was listening to a podcast and I had to pause the podcast as I wasn't able to hear everything said. My opinion is that these earbuds are meant to be used in a quiet environment, but that's my opinion as I prefer in-ear earbuds. The JLab Flex Open-Clip True Wireless Earbuds may be perfect you, but it's not idea for my runs and walks

Uncomfortable and hard to put on
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The JLab Flex Open-Clip wireless earbuds are a set of earbuds that I just could not get myself to like. Initial first impressions were not good and it mainly came down to how hard these are to put on. Even after a couple of days the situation did not improve much. It really ruins the whole earbuds for me and there aren’t many other positive aspects to make up for it. Unboxing/set-up: Getting these out the box was pretty straightforward - the buds are in their case and you also get a short USB-C cable if needed. Once out of their case they connected to my iPhone flawlessly. The case itself is also really good since the magnets that hold the buds are very strong with no wiggle room. In terms of any optional software you can get the JLab app to tweak the sound profile and touch gestures. Overall I’m happy that this part was at least straightforward and a positive experience. Fit/comfort: This is where the buds completely fall apart for me unfortunately - I have small/medium ears and I just could not get these properly fitted and feeling comfortable. The clip design just feels so unnecessary and overcomplicates everything. They did feel like they were much less likely to fall out of your ear once inserted, but it still didn’t feel great. Sound quality: Keep in mind these have an open-ear design which means you sacrifice immersion for being able to hear anything in the background, and I actually liked this aspect for a change - I could walk around the house and still hear absolutely everything. The earbuds sounded decent for any movie-watching as you can clearly hear tones, but for music they were not great. There wasn’t much depth, bass, and they were fairly quiet even on the highest volume setting. The sound quality also further suffers just because of the fit aspect. Overall I can’t recommend this product as it feels like a totally flawed concept. Pros: * Charging case Cons: * Fit * Comfort * Sound quality

Good but not great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.JLab Flex Open-Clip True Wireless Earbuds are overall okay earbuds, they're not the greatest, but not the worst that I've owned. Here's what's great, number one, they do kind of clip-on to your ears, so they do kind of stay in place while you're being active. The sound quality is okay. Not great by any means but okay. Don't get me wrong I have other JLab earbuds that I love, but these don't even come close to those. Here's what's not so great, while they do clip on to your ears, they don't really stay put if you're doing rigorous activities. While the sound quality is okay, it's not super crisp, and you can hear everything around you as if you weren't even wearing earbuds. Overall they're great for yard work and just working around the house type stuff but I definitely can't wear them when doing rigorous activities. As stated before they are good, but they're not great. I would recommend them to a friend as a backup set of ear buds, which is exactly what I'll be using them for, as they don't have the qualities I need for primary.

Disappointed in the sound on these earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to love these so much, so I am sad to review my thoughts on these earbuds They fit on the outside of your ear, which is what I thought I would like the most about these. I don't always like the earbuds that have pieces that go inside of your ear. Unfortunately, you have to input these inside your ear if you want to hear anything at all. Kinda defeats to me the purpose of the concept. While watching movies I can't hear well at all even with the volume the top notch. I did download the Application in the App Store on my phone & messed with it there and that did not help. I also went into my settings on my phone & made sure the sound was all of the way up and it was. That is what has been so disappointing about these earbuds is the sound. If there is anything going on around you, you will not be able to hear your movie/ video or music that you are playing which is so odd since they are in your ear. I'm not sure what else I could have done to make these better. I also googled my phone settings & did everything it said to enhance you video sounds on your phone with no such luck of making the sound any better. Hopefully in the future this can improve by the makers and if they do improve, I will purchase another pair, because I think they would be a nice option for me to use.

Uncomfortable and Quiet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m going to try to return these today for a couple reasons. 1. Even with the sound all the way up, I can still hear things in the background. 2. I can’t wear them for more than 20-30 minutes before they start making my ears sore, and the pain lasts for at least 30 minutes after I take them off. I would not recommend these.
