I would assume they would be good for a phobe or tablet but for a Nintendo switch it was not a good choice. Mic was inconsistent & didn't work well outside of the docking station. Usb c adapter is long & not useful with switch unless you hold it, its too long for the stand

Plastic started to develop cracks. Absolute trash. Wasn’t dropped, just started to crack. Small pieces constantly falling off. Not worth the money at all.

These squeak so bad I have a hard time understanding what is being transmitted. I would like the features these JLabs have but the noise of the construction is horrible!

    Good entry level ANC headphones

I was pretty excited to get these as I have had some JLab earbuds for a long time that work pretty darn good. I do not own any type of noise cancelling headphones which is why I was excited to get these. These are entry level so I was not expecting a ton of things. They came in a pretty basic JLab box with a very nice USB-C charging cable. I down loaded the app and I was pairing up in less than 3 minutes. I found the headphones with no issue, connected and I used my Sony Music app and settings while listening to my stored music. I used MP3 format with 44.6k sample. Music is clean and clear with plenty of midrange and highs. Bass is present but not punchy. It is not lacking, just don't expect bass heavy sound, even on rap or techno style music. While streaming from iHeart or SiriusXM, I noticed the sound was not as clean. The highs were missing and they were not quite as loud. ANC worked pretty darn good. I could barely hear my dog bark or my riding lawn mower while listening to music. The sounds are there, just pretty faint, which is impressive. When there is no music or sound, there is a very slight hiss from the NC, which was expected, but does not diminish the sound or loudness. Controls are easy to use and the battery life, so far, on one charge, has lasted through my initial one hour test and two mowing sessions of 4 hours each. They still read at 80% charge! I will continue to use these when I do lawn and gardening as the range from my phone beats my other headphones by a good 100ft, even outside! These are a good set of entry level NC headphones.

I recently picked up the J labs headphones, hoping for a decent budget option for casual listening. Unfortunately, while they technically work, the experience leaves a lot to be desired.

I got the JLAB JBuds Lux ANC headphones for my 8 year old son. So far he has really liked these headphones. They do everything he needs them to do, plus more. they are very easy to turn on and very very easy to connect to your device. these are also great because you can have them connected to 2 devices at once. this makes it easy for him to go between my computer or my laptop. and When mamma doesn't need to do extra step, everyone is happier. The sound from these headphones is great! the battery on these headphones lasts forever. he listened to it for a week before charging. This also can supposably hook on to another pair of JLAB headphones. That sounds cool even though we haven't tried it. the only downfall is that it takes a long time for the headphones to power down when not being used. I'm not sure if there is a way to change it. I would highly recommend these comfy headphones if you are looking for a pair for yourself or you younger child! great quality, and great sound!

Initially I thought these would be ok, but after taking them on a trip and wearing for a longer period of time, I realized that they are quite uncomfortable and the noise cancelling really isn't great. Super bummed that I am unable to return these.

BUILD QUALITY The JBUDS LUX ANC headphones have solid build and material quality. The headband is reinforced with a metal band, so it's sufficiently sturdy, and there’s 9 clicky detents providing a max of approximately 1.23” additional length per side. The supplied braided USBC cable seems to be pretty good. The headphones fold compactly and can also fold flat to wear comfortably around the neck. The hinges and swivels are plastic, but they look like they're designed and constructed such that they'll hold up for the long haul. FIT AND COMFORT These headphones feel more like semi over-ears or on-ears rather than over-ears. The cushions are soft and comfy but on the small side and not very deep, so my ears press against the inside of the driver cover. Hot spots on my ears became apparent after about 30 minutes. I got used to it after a few days, at which point it only got uncomfortable after a couple of hours. The headband pad is small and only covers the top 3.75” inches or so as opposed to most studio headphones, which often have pads covering most of the length of the headband; however, the pad on the JBuds Lux provides a decent amount of padding. At no point during several hours of use did I feel a hot spot at the top of my head. I was hoping to use these headphones for work, where I’ll be needing them for durations longer than a couple of hours, but that would require bigger and deeper cushions. Unfortunately, the pads are not user replaceable, so this option is out, and then this pair won't be suitable for work as I had hoped. Clamping force is slightly on the tighter side for me, but it’s not the worst I’ve felt. Ultimately, for me, these headphones will be tolerable for occasional long-duration listening, like during long-haul air travel, but probably not for daily long-duration usage. They will be great while doing chores for maybe two hours at a time max. For longer durations, I’ll need to stick with my studio headphones with true over-ear cushions. SETUP AND APP Setting up the headphones with the app on my Pixel 7 Pro running Android 14 was extremely easy. The app’s user interface is very intuitive, clean, and user-friendly. Using the app isn’t necessary in order to pair and just get basic functionality, but if you want to set the custom EQ, ANC or ambient pass-through levels, reassign buttons, or set max output levels, you’ll need the app. It’s nice that the audio settings are stored on the headphones rather than the app, so if you pair the headphones with more than one source or use it hardwired, you can still access the ANC levels and Custom EQ setting. The app doesn’t need to be installed on both devices, assuming, of course, that you installed the app and set the levels in at least one device first. NOISE CANCELING The active noise canceling is impressive for the price. Although I am not a fan of ANC due to the pressure it creates in my ears, it does a good job, and I very much appreciate the ability to set the ANC level so it doesn't hurt my ears. The Be Aware ambient passthrough mode produces good ambient sound if on the airy side. AUDIO The sound is decent. I’m no audio reviewer, so I’m not going to attempt an audio review worthy of the name. Basically, the sound isn’t the cleanest, but I’ve heard worse at this price point. The sound stage is a little close for my preference, but, again, for the price, I’m not complaining. The predefined EQ profiles are OK. For most music, Signature seemed best, but for spoken word, I preferred Balanced. Bass Boost is pretty useless to me. It just ended up muddying the sound. The Custom EQ offers more flexibility and I was able to improve on the Signature preset, but it’s a huge pain to work with. You can’t set any of the presets as a starting point to play around with. All the sliders start at zero, so you have to work from scratch. And, oddly, the grayed out slider positions you see when you select a preset don’t actually correspond to the same output when you recreate the same slider positions in Custom EQ (so maybe working off a preset wouldn’t be that helpful in the end anyway). I was able to tune Custom to sound something like Signature with a bit more boost in the mids and highs, but the slider positions looked VERY different from the Signature graphic. More EQ weirdness: 1) The sliders are a little janky. They’re stepped, so they’ll jump up or down from where you lift your finger, and not in a consistent-feeling way. 2) The values of the sliders are not shown, it’s entirely graphical, so it’s really difficult to dial in adjustments accurately. I feel like the Custom EQ is the key to get the best sound out of these headphones, but it’s really kneecapped. JLab should put in some work to make this feature a legit selling point. I couldn’t figure out how to get spatial audio to work. Maybe I didn’t have compatible sources. Didn’t really care about it though, so it’s not a loss for me. MICROPHONE The microphone quality is good for calls and voice recordings. Nothing more to report there. BATTERY LIFE After several days and a few hours of use per day, the battery is still at 100%, so I'm going to assume JLab is reporting the battery life accurately or even possibly underreporting it. DISAPPOINTMENTS AND ODDITIES 1) The non-replaceable pads are a big disappointment. Fitment issues could have been resolved with bigger, thicker aftermarket pads. The other problem is that pads are always consumable parts. They WILL eventually disintegrate, and they’ll do so far sooner than the point at which the battery will no longer hold sufficient charge. Once they do, you’ll either hope you can find an aftermarket cover that would fit to keep the flakes off your ears, or toss it. To make these pads last as long as they possibly can, you’ll have to be pretty vigilant about wiping off sweat and oils after every use. 2) The noise cancellation toggle always starts on Be Aware ambient passthrough mode. I wish it remembered the last mode. 3) The spoken status indicators take around a full second and it interrupts audio playback every time you change an EQ or noise canceling mode. It’s really disruptive when trying to toggle through EQ modes to find the best one for the source content. I would prefer quick numbered beeps instead. CLOSING COMMENTS Overall, the JBUDS LUX ANC headphones offer good build quality, easy set-up, decent sound quality, good ANC/ambient features, and great battery life. The storage of audio settings onboard instead of relying on the app is a plus. However, the pads are too small and shallow and non-replaceable, and the EQ needs work. If JLab addresses these two issues, this would be a 5-star offering, in my opinion.
